Chris Rock is frustrated that Jada Pinkett Smith is dragging his name into her book tour interviews.
Chris was famously slapped in the face by Will Smith after he cracked a joke about Jada’s bald head during the 2022 Oscar Awards.
In her new book, Worthy, set for release on Tuesday, Oct. 17, Jada said Chris once asked her out on a date when he heard rumors that she and Will were divorcing.
Now Chris wants Jada to stop mentioning his name every time she promotes her book.
In a sit-down interview with Hoda Kotb on The Today Show, the “Set It Off” actress shocked fans by revealing she and Will have been separated since 2016.
Jada said she was surprised that Will referred to her as his “wife” when telling Chris to keep her name out of his mouth.
“We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time. I’m like, what is going on right now?” Jada said.
Jada also revealed that she thought the Oscar slap was a comedy skit.
“Chris hates that she keeps bringing it up and bringing up the other revelations about Chris asking her on a date and all of that,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com.
“He is a relatively private person and was just getting to a point where people may have started to move on, but now it is back in the limelight, and it’s just frustrating that everything is coming back to the forefront.”
