Worcester police are looking for a man who videotaped a fatal shooting on the campus of Worcester State University on Oct. 28.
The shooting happened after a fight broke out in a parking lot on the campus early Saturday.
Police want to speak to an individual who uploaded cell phone video of the incident online. In the video, the man is heard yelling, “Yo, ni–as got your man in the corner right there! Get him! Do it to him! Pop him! Get it on!”
Seconds later, gunshots rang out and a victim staggered into the video frame before collapsing in the parking lot.
Suspect Kevin Rodriguez was arrested on Nov. 2 in New York City in connection with the shooting death of Randy Armando Melendez Jr., 19, of Southbridge.
A second victim, a 21-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Rodriguez, 18, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and armed assault with intent to murder. He signed a waiver to be extradited back to Massachusetts to stand trial. His arraignment is expected this week in Worcester District Court.
Richard Nieves, 18, of Southbridge, was also arrested near the campus and charged with carrying a firearm without a license and trespassing.
The U.S. Marshals worked in conjunction with local, state and federal law enforcement officials to locate and apprehend Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, Nieves, nor the victims are students at Worcester State. They were all trespassing at the time of the incident.
University President Barry M. Maloney and Provost Lois Wims said in a joint statement that the school will have a heightened police presence on campus.
