Morgan Freeman accepted an apology from Auburn basketball player Johni Broome for slapping his good hand away during a recent game.
The incident happened during the Auburn vs Mississippi game on Saturday, Feb. 3. Freeman grabbed the hem of Broome’s jersey in the second half.
Broome later said he thought Freeman was an Ole Miss fan trying to taunt him.
The Academy Award-winning actor is a huge fan of the Mississippi Rebels.

Broome apologized profusely after he realized who he slapped.
“I kind of got his hand off,” he later told reporters. “I saw who it was and I’m a big movie guy. I probably watched one of his movies on the plane coming here.
“But I realized it was him and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m a big fan. I’m sorry.'”
He apologized again to Freeman during the game.
“I’m just like, ‘I’m sorry, again,'” Broome said. “He said, ‘You all good. Just keep playing.’ He’s a very good guy. Love him.”
No. 16 Auburn rallied from a 1st half deficit to beat Mississippi 91-77.
Freeman, 86, permanently damaged his left hand in a car accident in 2008. The injury caused nerve damage and fibromyalgia. He wears a glove on that hand to aid with mobility and to relieve his pain.
The Oscar winner is known for his distinctive voice as well as his acting skills.
Freeman won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Million Dollar Baby (2004).
He also earned Oscar nominations for his roles in Street Smart (1987), Driving Miss Daisy (1989), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), and Invictus (2009).
