Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis strutted into court ready to do battle for her man, Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade.
Willis clashed with Superior Court Judge Scott F. McAfee and the defense attorneys at her evidentiary hearing on Thursday.
Today’s hearing is to decide whether to disqualify Willis from former President Trump’s election interference case.
Judge McAfee will determine whether Willis and Wade used taxpayer dollars to finance their romantic relationship.
Last week, Judge McAfee denied Willis’ request to cancel the hearing.
“Because I think it’s possible that the facts alleged by the defendant could result in disqualification, I think an evidentiary hearing must occur to establish the record on those core allegations,” he wrote.
When a defense attorney asked the judge for permission to treat Willis like a hostile witness, she responded, “I very much want to be here, so I am not a hostile witness.”
She repeated, “I very much want to be here.”
?Fani Willis thinks that questioning her about her secret affair with Nathan Wade that included paying him $600,000 of taxpayer money is anti-democracy:

In a tense exchange with Merchant, Willis called the attorney a liar. Willis expressed surprise that the judge allowed the hearing to continue as scheduled today.
“It’s ridiculous to me that … you lied on Monday, and yet here we still are,” Willis said.

In other testimony, Willis confirmed Wade’s claim that she repaid him in cash for their trips together.
The district attorney said she keeps thousands of dollars in cash inside her Atlanta area home.
Wade said he booked their airline tickets, hotel rooms and cruises on his credit card. But he said Willis paid him back in all cash.
When an attorney asked him for the bank deposit receipts, Wade said he didn’t deposit the money Willis gave him.

Both Willis and Wade said their romance began in 2022, after she appointed him special prosecutor in Trump’s RICO case.
But an earlier witness confirmed that their relationship began in 2019.
