The Apple executive responsible for the colossal failure of Apple’s new Maps app was fired for reportedly refusing to apologize to Apple’s customers.
Scott Forstall convinced Apple execs to replace Google maps on the new iPhone 5 cell phone with his Apple Maps, which turned out to be a disaster.
Not soon after the iPhone 5 launched, consumers began reporting problems with Apple Maps. Well-known streets and even entire towns were left off of the Maps navigation. The app quickly became a target of late night talk show hosts.
When the public outcry over the map app got too loud to ignore, Apple’s boss took action.
Apple CEO Tim Cook acknowledged that Apple Maps caused consumers “frustration.” Cook asked Forestall to sign a letter apologizing to Apple’s customers. When Forstall refused to sign the apology letter, Cook showed him the door.
Cook said Forstall wanted to “address the outcry without apologizing.”
Forestall’s arrogance did not serve him well during his 15 years at Apple. Like most narcissists, Forstall had a reputation for being difficult and “never fit in with the culture” at Apple, according to an anonymous source.

But, am I the only one who gets fustrated at navigational systems when they dont want to take you through the easy route. Its like they will make sure you go all away around the town to get to a particular location instead of giving you the short cuts (I was thinking its because they try to avoid dangerous areas..lol)

I love the HTC Windows phone. If you need to read and work in Word, Excel or Powerpoint on the fly, it’s a great phone and you don’t need an app for lousy work around solutions. You can also do gaming. The MAP features haven’t failed me yet.

when we started researching it, we were amazed at the number of folks who had this problem. i think it’s from heat because it will shatter in your pocket or when it’s docked. it never has to hit the ground. if your friend already has one then she’s lucky but i would wait to see how samsung is going to address this. so far, i don’t think the word has gotten out as much. and they will not replace it.

Stay with T-Mobile…I was with them for the longest and then I switched to Sprint to be on my hubby’s plan…Not only are they more expensive but I constantly have issues with my service acting stupid and calls dropping out of nowhere…

I was with TMobile for years only because they had those sidekicks. I loved sidekicks because it was really nothing out like them. Everyone had flip razors and nokias. Once other companys started catching up with TMobiles Sidekick I switch to AT&T but I had a Sprint and it was horrible. Im sure they are better now though

I’ve been w/them since 2005. My phone lives in the bottom of my purse.
Sprint had a very small service area about 10 yrs ago. Please tell me they have gotten better.
I don’t have many problems with Sprint. Problem is, when I have a problem, I HAVE A PROBLEM!
That Note II has better ratings than i’ve ever seen on a phone in my life though.
Sprint is in the process of being acquired by another company, supposedly, that’s gonna give them better service.

Cell Phone Companies are WINNING!!! I remember back in the day, you could call up your cell phone company and tell them mofos you are cancelling and they would transfer you to an entire department (retention) that would offer you the moon and stars to stay with them. NOW, you say you want to cancel, they dont even ask why they just disconnect you ish. The phone are extremely exspensive. The Galaxy II that I have was like $799.99 with out a contract brand new, no deals or piece of candy or shiat. I had to buy one from a pawn shop for like $300.00

I remember the day they changed BellSouth tower to AT&T in Atlanta. Stuck in traffic on the Downtown Connector watching them damn near. 700 in the air changing a sign.

I’ve been with Sprint 12 or 14 years and I don’t have any major issues. When I did have a few issues in the beginning they were really good about fixing my problem. I have a Galaxy SII I got it for free because I messed up my charger on my HTC Evo and didn’t want to wait on the replacement so they gave me a brand new phone. I don’t know about other people but my Sprint been good to me.

was with them for 1 year and I was not please, the only carrier I haven’t been with is verizon, I heard they were expensive, but they never caught my eye. I am happy with Tmobile, and my loyal customer plan

My bill is 112.00 a month, unlimited data, unlimited minutes, unlimited texting, unlimited every damn thing, plus my insurance!!! Might sound like a lot, but when you break it down its a deal, my data plan is 19.99 4g pretty cheap compared to most, and if I don’t have the money to pay they azz I just give em a call and let them know when I can pay. They don’t turn your phone off. Great customer service been with them 9years

Carrington they had to change the adapter it was 2 big and im glad they did and its only an adapter away from working with anything you had. even my car i just had to use the new cord and it works like it did before. they dont have to hold stock back to create demand for something that already had demand. remember apple reports actual sales in their quarterly reports not products shipped as Samsung does.
u wont see cricket and metro generally in same places because they went after different markets cricket went after rural markets while metro went after major metropolitan areas. metro did try to buy cricket like 2 years ago in order to make them a nationwide carrier but they declined to sale but entered into a roaming agreement.
tmobile merger with att would have been awesome it would have addressed one of the biggest problems which is wireless spectrum which is why all these phone companies have to merge anyway because the government makes it hard for them to increase their service areas.
ive had no problem with the maps on my iphone 5 but i can see why scott not apologizing could get him the boot especially when the other big dogs at apple didnt care for him anyway. especially johnny ive who actually designs all the iphones hated him.
and htc does actually build higher quality phones than samsung but the years of Samsung copying the apple experience has resulted in people preferring their phones over HTC which has caused HTC to lose money by the bucketloads so its only so long they can survive loosing money the way they are.

do research on your galaxy first. i have a galaxy S but my co-worker purchased a galaxy s3 that has a different type glass screen (called gorilla glass?) and that shyt is splitting and shattering on everybody and they can’t get their money back.

I have had the Samsung Galaxy S3 for 3 months and recently bought one for my sweetie. I haven’t had any problems with the glass cracking and I do not have a case on it (hate cases/skins) and have dropped it several times. My daughter also has one and I absolutely LOVE it.
