Candace Owens is not backing down on her claim that France’s first lady Brigitte Macron was born a man. Owens doubled down on her conspiracy theory that the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron is a man.
The Macron’s filed a lawsuit against Owens accusing her of defamation and pursuing false claims for fame and profit.
The far-right wing influencer now insists that French authorities will fake Brigitte’s death rather than allow her to reach the discovery phase of the lawsuit.
On her Monday podcast, Owens said the death of the first lady will shut down all discussion “about her being a man anymore.”
“I think they’ll fake kill Brigitte first. They’ll be like, ‘Oh, Brigitte passed away from stress because of what Candace did. Oh, nobody can talk about her being a man anymore because Brigitte’s gone.'”
Owens insisted Brigitte’s “fake” death was “way more likely than them going through discovery.”
“I don’t know, but that’s my, my instinct anyways,” she said.
Owens suggested that the lawsuit might ruin her financially but she’s not ready to ask her followers to donate to her legal defense fund.
“You know, I always want to be, if I ever come to and I say, I’m putting up a GoFundMe and I need the money, I want to make sure I really need the money, you know? And right now, we’re obviously looking and talking with lawyers. We do not really need the money at this moment. It’s very early on,” she said.
According to the lawsuit, Owens has engaged in a “relentless and unjustified smear campaign” that has “caused tremendous damage to the Macrons.” The complaint added that her “tranvestigation” podcast series was designed to feed a “frenzied fan base” in “pursuit of fame” and profit.”
