Cracker Barrel scrapped its new logo after amid ongoing protests on social media. Cracker Barrel announced its decision to return to the old logo in a statement on Tuesday.

A spokesperson said the decision to scrap the new logo was a no-brainer after critics — including President Donald Trump and country music icon Jason Aldean — protested the new modernized logo.

The White House took credit for the logo’s reversal on Tuesday night.

According to Politico, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich said he spoke with Cracker Barrel executives on Tuesday and they told him they saw Trump’s remarks, which prompted the company to change the logo back.

Cracker Barrel redesigned its logo by removing the “Old Timer” sitting in a chair and the barrel next to him. The words “Old Country Store” were also removed.

The familiar logo had been replaced with the words “Cracker Barrel” on a plain mustard colored background.

The rebranding didn’t stop with the logo. The old country store feel of the restaurant was updated. The company slapped white paint on the walls and modernized the antique furniture in its restaurants.

The company reportedly spent over $700 million on the rebranding. The Cracker Barrel’s new look was unveiled on August 19.

Shares in the company stock nosedived and Cracker Barrel lost $143 million in market value by Tuesday morning.

Cracker Barrel’s rival restaurant chain Steak n’ Shake called the new logo “a cheap effort to gain the approval of trend seekers.”

Amid the massive backlash on social media – and the threat of bankruptcy – the company issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the logo reversal.

“We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our “Old Timer” will remain.” the statement read in part.
