Jordan’s entire family was there to celebrate his achievement with him
Michael was honored with the American Cinematheque Award for his work as both an actor and a director in recent years. He posed for photos with actor Daniel Kaluuya (left) and director Ryan Coogler.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Sinners” actor named his most career-defining role.
“I think the biggest one that I can think of, off the top of my head, is probably Wallace from The Wire,” Michael said. “I think The Wire really made me fall in love with what I was doing. You know, being surrounded by such veteran actors and storytellers. I got the chance to, like, really learn from them, and get inspired and really fall in love with the craft. So, I would probably say The Wire was the one for me that set things into motion,” he added.
Michael was asked his thoughts about the upcoming awards season.
“Just being a part of the conversation this late in the year, and people are still excited about the movie that we made—it speaks volumes,” he said. “It was really a family and a team thing.”
He added: “We’re all enthusiastic about celebrating each other. So, we try to do that as much as we can.”
