Hulu declined to pick up the comedy pilot for Kim Kardashian and La La Anthony‘s new series “Group Chat.”

As reported by Variety.com, the new series is inspired by La La’s book titled “The Love Playbook: Rules of Love, Sex, and Happiness.”

The series is written by Kenya Barris and executive produced by Kim Kardashian. The pilot stars La La and she also executive produced the pilot.

The cast of the pilot includes Yaya DaCosta, Melanie Liburd, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Stephanie Suganami.

The new series is being written and executive-produced by Tracy Oliver, who is known for writing the 2017 comedy film “Girls Trip.” Her other film credits include “The Blackening,” “The Sun Is Also a Star,” and “Little.”

According to a summary, the series is about Bay Area’s most sought-after crisis manager for professional athletes who finds her own life upended by her husband’s scandal. She turns to three women who were by her side through all of her ups and downs. “Together they navigate dating, ambition, motherhood, and the glamorous mess of starting over.”

The project was first announced back in 2024 under Kim’s first-look deal with 20th Television, a division of Disney Entertainment.

Despite Hulu’s rejection, La La and Kim are staying in business together. They plan to shop the pilot around.

Kim is repped by WME. La La is repped by Linden Entertainment, WME, and Sloane Offer.
