President Donald Trump’s supporters believe someone in his inner circle is giving him bad advice and sabotaging Trump’s second term in office.
That “someone” might be William “Bill” Pulte, the controversial director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).
Pulte is the one who came up with the terrible idea for Trump to post the Jesus meme on his Truth Social app.
The 79-year-old president was heavily criticized for posting the AI image of himself as a Christ-like figure healing the sick.
“It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better,” Trump said in response to the public backlash.
“Only the fake news could come up with that one (the depiction of Jesus),” he added. “I just heard about it, and said: ‘How did they come up with that?”
Two advisers who spoke with the president about the meme told Axios that Pulte was at fault for giving him the idea.
They say Pulte brought up the image to Trump while they were at Mar-a-Lago in South Florida over the weekend.
“Everyone thought it was a joke,” one adviser said. They didn’t think he would post it.
According to the Daily Beast, Pulte has stirred up trouble for Trump behind the scenes.
Pulte has had run-ins with some of his fellow Trump administration officials.
At a MAGA dinner event in September, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, 63, threatened to punch the 37-year-old Pulte “in the f—ing face.”
Bessent suggested the two go outside so Bessent could “f—ing beat [Pulte’s] a–,” Politico reported.
Other advisers are quietly urging Trump to stop his shenanigans and behave more presidential before he loses his core base.
