According to reports, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel may soon be out of a job. A Patriots insider told the Daily Mail that the team is in talks with Mike Tomlin to replace Vrabel (if he resigns).
The Patriots owner reportedly does not want to fire Vrabel. They’re hoping he does the right thing by resigning.
The scandal-plagued coach was caught cheating on his wife with Dianna Russini, an ex sports reporter for The Atlantic.
Page Six published exclusive photos that showed Vrabel and Russini holding hands and hugging at an adults-only resort in Arizona. They were also seen together at poolside, frolicking in a hot tub and embracing on a rooftop with soaring views of the mountain range.
They initially lied about their relationship and claimed they were just friends. But Russini was forced to resign from The Atlantic. Russini is married to Shake Shack exec Kevin Goldschmidt. They share two minor sons.
Russini named their first son Michael – the same name as her longtime lover. There are rumors that Vrabel fathered both of Russini’s sons.
Vrabel publicly apologized for his poor judgment. In new photos this week, he was seen shopping for his long-suffering wife of 30 years, Jen Vrabel. They share 2 adult sons.
Vrabel took the weekend off to seek counseling. He was back with the team on Monday. But now comes word that he will soon be replaced by former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin departed the Steelers at the end of the 2025 season. He opted for a job in front of the camera at NBC.
“It’s probably not an overnight decision,” Tomlin said at the time. “But it’s probably not something that I could articulate or share with people. There’s a loneliness with leadership. I just thought it was a good time for me personally.”
