A woman killed in a crash outside an Atlanta area Kroger supermarket has been identified as the aunt of 2 Atlanta Falcons players.

The crash happened at the Kroger store off Wesley Chapel Road in DeKalb County, Ga. around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6.

49-year-old Giselle Perry had just dropped her mother off at the Kroger and was waiting in her car when another driver hit Perry’s car from behind.

The impact pushed both cars onto the sidewalk, where someone walking outside Kroger was struck. Perry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver and the pedestrian were transported to the hospital. The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. No charges have been filed.

Witnesses tell WXIA TV the other driver, a woman, drove slowly through an intersection before accelerating at high speed into the Kroger parking lot where she crashed into Perry’s car parked outside the store.

Perry is the aunt of Atlanta Falcons cornerbacks A.J. Terrell, 27, and his brother Avieon Terrell, 21.

Perry’s husband confirmed to 11Alive that she is related to the Terrell brothers of the Atlanta Falcons.

“I’M TORN AUNTY – HEART IS HEAVY. I LOVE YOU,” A.J. wrote in a tribute to his aunt on his Instagram story.

The brothers posted pictures of Perry on their Instagram stories on Wednesday evening. A.J. was selected by the Falcons in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.

A.J.’s younger brother Avieon Terrell was drafted by the Falcons in the 2nd round of the 2026 NFL draft. Both brothers played football at Westlake High School in Atlanta and Clemson University.
