A streamer who is popular for making racially confrontational content is charged with attempted murder.

Dalton Eatherly, also known as “Chud the Builder,” was arrested on Wednesday, May 13, following a shooting that left two people injured outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Tennessee.

Police detained two men who were involved in a fight. The fistfight escalated to gunfire. Eatherly and another man were shot and transported to a hospital for treatment.

Eatherly was arrested at the hospital. He is charged with criminal attempted murder, employing a firearm during dangerous felony, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

“We will conduct a thorough review and, if appropriate, present the facts to a grand jury for a charging decision,” District Attorney General Robert Nash said in a press release. “We will provide further updates as the case progresses.”

Eatherly was booked into the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held pending an arraignment hearing.

“It’s unfortunate that incidents like this are happening in our community,” Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson said on Wednesday. “This kind of violence won’t be tolerated, and our office will work to make sure those responsible are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
