According to online reports, actor Terrence Howard got hitched back in January of this year. Howard, who is set to play Nelson Mandela in the biopic Winnie, married Michelle Ghent, 33, a film production worker.
“Terrence is so in love with her and she’s a great, down-to-earth girl who really understands and loves him for him,” an insider tells UsMagazine.com. “He feels so lucky.”
Howard, who has a long history of jungle fever, let the news slip to CNN’s Anderson Cooper during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday.
“To come here and be with my wife, it’s the best feeling in the world,” he said of promoting his movie, (which co-stars Jennifer Hudson) in the South of France.
Howard split from his wife of 13 years, Lori McComma, in 2005. They have three children together: Aubrey, Heaven and Hunter.

@ Civil me either…Only reason she killed Dreamgirls was because it was a musical which didn’t allow as much speaking! But back on topic Congrats Terrence…He’s my favorite actor!!
OMG….who cares if he didn’t marry a black chick???? I’m so tired of this crap. So black men are only supposed to date black women?? Whoever you love…you love….what does it matter their skin color?? How can black people move past racism when some of us are just as racist?? Now if a white person was on here saying Robert De Niro shouldn’t have married a black chick and he’s a traitor to the white race….people would call them racist…how is this different??? I wish people would stop being hypocrites and practice what the hell they preach.

That’s right!! @Renegade…she told yall!!

that’s what sociologists always told me. Racism can only be done by the superior group.
J Hud can’t act “attall”!!
Most OVERRATED actresses:
J Hud
Beyonce (yall know some people say she can act)
Halle Berry (just a pretty face)
Gabrielle Union (she can only play they bytch role)
Angella Basset (one good acting role in 50 yrs of acting)
Most UNDERRATED actresses
Jill Scott (yall I know I detest this woman but she can act her azz off)
Queen Latifah (she can convince you she is straight)
Lisa Raye (one day, you will be appreciated)
Thandie Newton (you are starting to get your shine)
Paula Patton (NOT just a pretty face)
@Daisy…true, in most situations, black people don’t have the power to change anything by rule. But every community has its issues
@Man…I don’t think Bey is overrated. I’ve never heard anyone say she’s a good actress and I was with you til Lisa Raye
:surprised: @ Man…..getcho azz over here so I can check your temp.
@Man- Halle can act she did her thing in “Losing Isaiah” …after that…not so much
Lisa Raye only acted well that is up for debate “Players Club” those other movies don’t count..
I think Kimberly Elise is underrated
Why in the world can’t black people be racist? I’ve been around blacks that will not associate with whites, eat from them, won’t allow their kids to have white friends, teach them that the “white man is the devil”…..how is that not racist????????????????? I don’t think anyone can be racist and not prejudice
Racism (via dictionary.com): hatred or intolerance of another race or other races
Prejudice (via dictionary.com): any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable.
I would argue some black people are BOTH.

your list is all kinds of wrong. that is clearly your opinion, and your opinion ONLY.
@ Man, I agree that Thandie Newton is an underrated actress. So is Kimberly Elise and Viola Davis.

My list is so “factual” and “true” it should be placed in the Smithsonian.
@CINNAMON KISSES
Take another look at my list and try to remember their actual acting.

NOW, tell me you don’t agree!
I thought black people can be racist…
Where I live the blacks are the majority…the white are the minority…but there is still some segregation..
but this is where I come from…
**Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another.
**Prejudice is the pre-judging of a situation or person based upon less than all the facts.

I agree with 100%. Black people are capable of being racist. I have a co-worker who despies anyone who isn’t Black and hates interracial relationships and their offspring. She actually broke up with a guy because his brother was dating a White woman and had kids with her.

Damn!!! She’s serious huh??? LOL
Whatever the proper definition of racism is, I don’t think it can apply to minority groups, not just black people. I can’t remember what the proper definition of racism is though. And of course, if blacks are the majority in an area and white people are the minority, then blacks can be racists. Based on this definition, this is why reverse racism can not, and does not exist. It’s either racism or it isn’t. A minority can not be racist, therefore, reverse racism can not exist. Minorities have prejudices, but can’t be racists, based on the proper definition of racism.
If I was at home, I could cite my race & sociology book, which was written by a white man. I also learned the correct definition of racism from a white/asian man. So this isn’t just something black people came up with.
@ms.truth…I know it has something to do with politics and the ability to make one race socioeconomically superior to all others, but I’m like you…can’t think of the actual definition.
@ms.truth
There is a difference between systematic racism and just racism.
I agree that minorities cannot be involved in systematic racism…they don’t have the power to do that i.e; they are not the majority.
But the general form of racism, basically just hating someone based on race, is definitely applicable to minorities.

Anyone can be racist. My family includes everything, Black, white, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Russian, Greek, and Filipino. We have quite a few racist folks in there too.
@rene…this is why I say the proper definition of racism. The “new” definition of racism wasn’t put into the dictionary until recently, I believe.
@TRUTH
Racism is a belief
Racist is stating that someone practices stated belief or is belonging to a group
Socialism is an economic belief
Socialist are people who practice the belief
I’ve heard the argument that blacks can’t be RACIST because they can’t actually ACT on it or practice it. So I somewhat agree.
@Civil, that’s why I try not to get into arguments. I can never remember anything to properly explain it.
@ qtipthecat – your family sounds like my family. LOL

Racism goes far beyond the dictionaries definition. To me, it’s more like power and control due to majority rule, i.e. white priviledge. Look up Tim Wise (white man) and he explains it in more detail.
I find it amusing how blacks are so quit to point the “racism finger” at other blacks, but will be silent when others are racist against us. We all of a sudden bury our head in the sand because a lot of us are scard of what others will think. We don’t want to be labeled as “playing the race card,” or “complaining too much.” Just my observation.
Secondly, I could give a rat’s behind who Terrance dates, marries, the size of his penis or anything else about him.
*scared*
@Krazy Kat
Lmmfao! Don’t be scared you’re keeping it real. How can WE be racist? What institutions do WE control? or governemnt for that matter and please don’t mention Barack…..
“…On the question of racial discrimination, the Addis Ababa Conference taught, to those who will learn, this further lesson: That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned: That until there are no longer first-class and second class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man’s skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; Until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self-interest have been replaced by understanding and tolerance and good-will; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained…..”
-His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah
I know this entire speech by heart…My father made me learn it when I was 10…this is why I think the way I do. Prejudice/racism/discrimination….whatever you want to call it is WRONG…no matter who it’s coming from.
Thank you and good day
Ewwwwww and anyway Terrence Howard has a noodlelly body ain’t nobody checking for that lame. He has no definition what soever….

@Chgoprime – Oh, I’m not scared, but I think a lot of black people are scared to be real – always afraid of what other races think about us.
I agree with you, and that’s what I think people fail to see when it comes to racism/white supremacy. I keep referring people to Tim because he breaks it down. This man lectures all over the country (maybe world) talking about this very subject.

Time Wise? yes. Exactly, people especially non believin black folks really need seek him out.

EVERYBODY is Prejudice…not everybody is a racist
•A prejudice is a preconceived belief, opinion, or judgment toward a group of people or a single person because of race, social class, gender …
•Racism is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or get preferential treatment.

I’m curious @KrazyKat
So the chick in Cinderella’s example…what is she?
And btw I am very much vocal against all types of racism/oppression. I am a multicultural person so I identify with many people. I’ve been on mission trips to Haiti and Africa…I’ve protested with others to help bring attention and aid to Darfur….I coordinate book drives to send books to countries such as Jamaica, Haiti and Guyana…..So don’t accuse me of pointing the “racism finger” at other blacks, but being silent when others are racist against us.
The way I see it is… Do unto others as you would have them do unto you….you can’t go wrong if you live by the Golden Rule.
@rene – who said I was pointing a finger at you? I was making a generalized statement, i.e. talking about blacks as a whole, not individually. If you took it personally, I don’t know what to say. What I meant by my statement is that I believe some of US believe that racism had been eradicated and that it is all in our heads. We’ve been accused of playing the race card, overreacting, and being, get this, “more racist than anyone else.” Many of us bought that lie, yet it appears that some blacks are quick to accuse other blacks of being racist. That was my point.
The woman Cinderella described, I would refer back to ggouch’s comment. Does she fit into category 1 or 2?
Rene, it’s wonderful all the things you do for others. I wish the world was as you described it, but racism and discrimination has been around since the beginning of time, and I don’t believe it’s going away any time soon. As long as a certain group of people have the priveleges and rights not allotted to others, it’s here to stay. However, since we can’t control that, we should do our part, as you are, in making our society and communities better.
Racism of any kind is wrong and evil. I don’t care what color someone is as long as I am treated with respect and dignity.
Well said Krazy Kat and thanks for that reference you mentioned I’ll be sure to check it out……
She’s pretty. I don’t want Terrence Howard either, LOL. He’s alright and stuff. He must believe in marriage a lot because he doesn’t believe in taking to much time off in between each marriage.
