Former heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield says being gay is not normal and he compared the sexual behavior to a handicap that needed fixing.
Holyfield, 51, made the controversial statements to reality star Luisa Zissman in the UK Celebrity Big Brother 2014 house in London, England, the Huffington Post reports.
Holyfield and Zissman were discussing gay boxers going public with their sexuality. “What would be good about it?” Holyfield asked. “That ain’t normal.”
Holyfield disagreed with the popular gay agenda theory that gays are born that way.
“If you were born and your leg was turned this way, then you’d go to the doctor and get it fixed back, right?” he said. Adding, “It is a choice. Come on, that ain’t the way nobody is made… You ain’t gay unless you sleeping with the opposite sex.”
Gay public figures such as British singer Boy George were quick to respond to Holyfield’s statements. “Shame, I had such admiration for Mr Evander Holyfield, he seemed dignified and I was sure he was a cool, smart, giant!,” George tweeted. He added: “At customs there should be a huge sign! Welcome to Britain, racism, sexism, homophobia and bad hair are not tolerated!”
And a Big Brother producer reprimanded Holyfield for giving his opinion on such a touchy subject:
“Before entering the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behavior were explained to you,” the producer said during Holyfield’s Diary Room segment. “Last night in a conversation with Luisa you expressed the view that being gay was not normal and that it could be fixed. While Big Brother understands these are the views you hold, they aren’t the views that I hope a large section of society and expressing the views will be offensive to many people,” the producer said. “Do you understand why?”
Holyfield reiterated that he was giving his opinion. “I forgot about the thing, I thought I was just telling her my opinion.”
But the producer reminded Holyfield that his freedom of speech is protected — as long as he’s not giving his opinions on the gays.
“Big Brother does not tolerate the use of offensive language and must therefore warn you to consider very carefully the effect expressing such views may have and the harm and offense you may cause by repeating those views inside the house,” the producer scolded. “You understand, Evander?”
“I do,” Holyfield said meekly.

Totally unrelated but related, I watched a documentary called “crime after crime” (I think) on Netflix. This woman sent two dudes to scare her baby daddy so he could stop beating her. Well he ended up dying and she ended up going to jail because his friend lied and said she was there (because he wanted to get with her and when the bf died she started dating someone else). Anyway, she spend 25 years in jail (wrongly convicted) they let her out she died 10 months later.

I have demons in my closet, and I have a past that I am not proud of, as we all do. After reading some of your advice e-mails you seem to respond with such wisdom, so I figured I would write you and seek your advice and the advice of some of your EDUCATED and understanding fans.
I am a 53 year old African American man, I have always had a weight problem, I am rather large at 375 pounds and counting, and based on what other people think I’m not the most attractive person.. So as you can imagine I have never had a girlfriend or a date for that matter. Nobody likes me, and nobody loved me.
20 years ago I was in the funeral service career field and did some things I am not proud of AT ALL.. But since giving my life to Jesus Christ, who is my saviors, I am a new man by the blood of the lamb thus saith the lord thy God.. Amen.
In my career field I had a lot of access and alone time with the dead, since I didn’t receive human affection or intimacy outside of work I created an atmosphere that would cater to my needs. Yes, I had sex with some of the female corpses, especially the ones that had a nice body and pretty face. I would even change their body positions to make it seem realistic. I would oil their body down, use chains and ropes to place them in stand up positions, etc.. Sometimes, I would engage in anal sex with them. I did this for several years, until one day it hit me that what I was doing was Grossly WRONG and I needed to stop, I needed to cure myself of this sickness. So I put in my two week notice and made my way to quit.
Since quitting that job, I have given my life to Jesus and I know my sins are forgiven but sometimes I am overwhelmed by guilt, even though this happen over 20 years ago. To reconcile my past wrongs, I am thinking about attending a theological school and becoming a full time Pastor to tell the people of the good Jesus, who forgave me of my sins and loved me ANYHOW! I want to tell the people the GOOD NEWS of the Gospels, and it don’t matter what you did or how you did it, God FORGIVES! Amen. The only thing holding me back is sometimes I still get tempted, especially at funerals. I get extremely turned on at funerals to the point I had to stop going. A few years ago I was at my first cousins funeral and couldn’t contain myself so I rushed to the bathroom in the church and masturbated while I looked at her picture on the obituary.
But the Devil is a liar! I have been redeemed!! And I am FORGIVEN!! Amen.
So I have need your advice, from a wise sister, here are my questions.
Should I inform the authorities of my past actions or should I just let it be and move on with my life and dreams of becoming a preacher?
Please keep in mind that it has been over 20 years, and it would probably cause the families of the dead great sadness to know what happen. But I am still willing to accept responsibility..
Do you think a guy like me can still become an effective pastor; I really do have a strong passion for God’s people and spreading the word of God? I have made some mistakes just like everyone else. Just because we sin differently doesn’t mean sin isn’t still sin. We all have demons in our closet.
