Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 vanished into thin air without a trace shortly after leaving Kuala Lumpur early Saturday. At least 10 countries have joined in the air and sea search for the missing plane. Investigators are focusing on the identities of two passengers who were carrying stolen passports. The two men were initially described as Asians.
On Sunday, Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi criticized border agents for letting the two passengers pass through. “I am still perturbed. Can’t these immigration officials think? Italian and Austrian but with Asian faces,” he said on Sunday.
But Malaysia’s civil aviation chief Azharuddin Abdul now says the men were not Asian.
“It is confirmed now that they are not Asian looking men,” Abdul said. When asked by a reporter to describe how they looked, Abdul said “Do you know a footballer by the name of [Mario Balotelli],” describing the black Italian soccer star who plays for AC Milan.
“I can confirm that he is not a Malaysian, but cannot divulge which country he is from yet,” Abdul said to reporters.
The search for the missing airliner has now widened to include Vietnam and reports of debris spotted south of Hong Kong. It will be Tuesday before any information is known. Officials are not ruling out the possibility of a hijacking.
Update: a Thai travel agent who sold the tickets to the two mystery passengers said the tickets were arranged by an “Iranian contact” who wanted cheap tickets to Europe.

Hijacking an airplane does not cause it to simply vanish from radar. Even if transponders are disabled on the aircraft, ground radar can still readily track the location of the aircraft using so-called “passive” radar (classic ground-based radar systems that emit a signal and monitor its reflection).
Thus, the theory that the flight was hijacked really makes no sense whatsoever. When planes are hijacked, they do not magically vanish from radar.

@ luVn_liFe: Radars have a distance beyond which they can’t detect anything. It is possible for planes to fly undetected under radar. Especially if the hijackers know how to fly planes. They could have flown the plane 2,000 feet above sea level where no radar can detect it. The last known position of the plane was when it descended 600 feet. That means it vanished at 29,000 feet. Either it exploded or something was turned off.
However, I’m not convinced that was an intentional “thug” move on Tiger’s part. I thank he just cheap

Anything flying below that peak will not be seen on radar. So if you have a plane flying way out at sea – and flying under the peak where the radar is located – it will not be seen.

But now the authorities confirmed that he’s their primary suspect, and he’s officially being investigated due to lies and inconsistencies in his statement. Authorities are confidant that Sapp had an affair with Patrick. They also believe that when they find “the body” they’ll have enough evidence to bring officially charges against Sapp.
Investigators find it ‘interesting’ that Sapp claims to have been stalked by Patrick for over a year, but never made any 911 calls to police, prior to filing the order of protection. Authorities believe there’s ”foul play” on the part of Sapp, but need to find the body to “strengthen” their case.
Teleka Patrick of Kalamazoo, Mich., went missing on Dec. 5 (just three months after Sapp filed his order of protection) and hasn’t been seen since.
The search for the missing Michigan doctor took a bizarre twist after the chart-topping gospel singer claimed that the woman stalked him, prompting him to file an protection order against her. Sapp, a Grammy-nominated gospel crooner and Grand Rapids pastor, claimed that Teleka Patrick sent him more than 400 love letters, joined his congregation, contacted his children and even moved to Michigan from California to be closer to him, local WOOD-TV reported. However, several witnesses claim to have seen Sapp with Patrick on more than one occasion. Sapp, 46, filed the protection order in September, some three months before the 30-year-old doctor vanished, the station reported.
The stalking had gone on for at least a year, Sapp said. In at least one instance, Patrick even professed that Sapp was her husband, according to the order. In a statement to the station Thursday, Sapp said, “As a father of three and pastor of one of the largest congregations in west Michigan, I cannot take this kind of obsessive attention lightly.” Gospel singer Marvin Sapp, who serves as a pastor at a church in Grand Rapids, says Patrick stalked him, prompting him to file a protection order.
Patrick’s her abandoned 2012 Lexus was found with a flat tire by a highway in Portage, Ind., about 100 miles away. Authorities in Kalamazoo and Indiana are searching for her, and, so far, the case was being treated as a missing person.
In one video, titled “Surprise! Final Video,” she shows off a breakfast table set for two. Pointing to a plate of veggie bacon, tomatoes and an omelet, she says, “If you were here, this would be your plate.”
Patrick posted a YouTube video in which she lovingly prepared breakfast for her ‘baby’ — but friends and family says she was referring to an ongoing affair she was having with Sapp.
On the night she was last seen, Patrick tried to check into a hotel only a few miles from her apartment, but left without getting a room. Authorities believe Sapp had arranged to meet her there.
In a statement on Thursday, Patrick’s parents said they believed “wholeheartedly” that their daughter “had encountered some harm or danger” and strongly believe Sapp is complicit. “Teleka is missing and we want whoever has her or has harmed her in any way to come forward,” the statement to the station said. “Teleka is our eldest child. One of three bright stars in our lives, and we won’t be whole again.”
