Outrage: Atlanta Braves reporter slammed for getting a woman’s phone number during a live broadcast

Atlanta Braves sideline reporter Wiley Ballard made headlines on Monday when he asked a woman for her phone number while broadcasting live.

Ballard, who works on the FanDuel Sports Network, is under fire for asking a woman for her phone number while live on the air.

The incident happened during the Braves’ Major League Baseball game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night.

Ballard was interviewing 2 women on the rooftop of the Rogers Centre in Toronto when play-by-play announcer Brandon Gaudin asked him to get their phone numbers.

“OK Wiley, you got five innings, four innings to get the numbers,” said Gaudin from the booth.

Ballard then pulled out his phone and asked the women for their phone numbers.

Gaudin and another sports analyst in the booth suggested this is a new way to pick up women.

“I should have thought of this years ago,” Ballard told Gaudin. “I got the number. We’re good.”

Journalists and politicians were outraged by the unprofessionalism displayed by the reporters.

“An unprofessional disgrace, from the reporter, to the guys in the booth, to the producer in the truck who couldn’t [cut away from the shot] at any point,” wrote Ralph Vacchiano, an NFL writer for Fox Sports.

“If I had ever done anything close to this, my career would be over. This is flabbergasting,” Newsday writer Laura Albanese wrote.

Outkick.com reporter Joe Kinsey defended Ballard in a post on his website. “If Wiley were an actor on The Bachelor and was tonguing 25 women, he’d be celebrated as some sort of perfect man,” Kinsey wrote.

Karmelo Anthony‘s family will use over $400,000 in donations to buy a new house.

Karmelo walked out of the Collin County Jail on Monday, April 14, after Judge Angela Tucker lowered his bond amount from $1 million to $250,000.

Video footage shows the 17-year-old walking out of jail while surrounded by several beefy bodyguards. A female reporter rushed forward to interview him but a bodyguard blocked her.

Karmelo is charged with fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf in the heart during a dispute at a high school track meet on April 2 in Frisco, Texas.

Karmelo admitted to the crime and asked police if he could claim self-defense.

A GiveSendGo account created by Karmelo’s parents raised over $433,000 for his legal defense.

However, a source tells the The Sun UK newspaper that Karmelo’s parents will use the money as a down payment on a lavish new home in an upscale gated community.

During a court hearing on Monday, Karmelo’s father, Andrew, told Judge Tucker the donations would be used to pay legal fees and security.

Andrew Anthony described Karmelo as a straight-A student who has never been arrested before. He was the captain of his high school football and track teams and worked at Foot Locker, as well as a second job at H-E-B supermarket.

As part of his release terms, Karmelo is on house arrest with an ankle monitor.

The family’s lawyer, who previously said the money would be used for legal fees, justified the purchase of a new house.

“This family needs to be able to survive,” defense attorney Mike Howard said. “I think at this point, living in a gated community, given everything, the safety of their younger children is very warranted. Security details and criminal defense are not cheap.”

The lawyer did not respond to allegations that Karmelo’s parents are using public donations to fund their lavish lifestyle.

Sean Kingston has been reunited with his mother, Janice Turner, in a Miami detention center. Sean, real name Kisean Anderson, was remanded into the custody of U.S. Marshals at a bond hearing after he failed to pay $100,000 cash bond to remain free following his conviction on fraud charges last month.

A search of the Federal Bureau of Prisons website shows Sean is an inmate at Miami Federal Detention Center along with his mother, Janice, who was also convicted last month of running a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.

Sean, 35, and Janice Turner, 62, were arrested in May 2024 for the theft of a $150,000 entertainment system that was installed in his rental home but never paid for.

Sean and his mother are accused of scamming other companies, including car dealerships, a jewelry store, several banks and a mattress firm.

Janice was accused by the judge of being the “fixer and nerve center” in charge of the fraud scheme.

After the verdict was read in March, “Mama Kingston,” as Janice is known on Instagram, was taken into custody. The judge considered her to be a flight risk because of her testimony during the trial.

“Protect my mother,” the rapper cried out as US Marshals escorted Janice to jail, WPLG reported.

Sean’s lawyer described him as a “child” who did not understand finances and would spend money with no regard.

He was on house arrest in South Florida after paying a $200,000 surety bond in cash.

He also put up a relative’s $500,000 house as part of the bond requirement.

Gayle’s longtime bestie Oprah Winfrey cried as the spacecraft launched from the site in West Texas.

The crew lifted off at 9:30 a.m. and traveled 62 miles above Earth. The crew experienced some weightlessness before returning to Earth.

Jeff Bezos’ fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, wasn’t as dramatic when she touched down.

Then the criticism began online.

Actress Emily Ratajkowski slammed the Blue Origin crew and founder Jeff Bezos for wasting a billion dollars on the “pointless” space flight.

“You say you care about Earth, then fly in a planet-killing rocket,” she said in a TikTok rant. Emily called the space flight a PR stunt. “I’m disgusted. Literally disgusted,” she said.

“That space mission this morning? That’s end-times sh*t. Like, this is beyond parody,” she added.

TikTok users agreed with Emily. One person wrote: “You want to uplift women? Start with the ones down here on Earth.”

Another person wrote in the comments: “I wish more influential & famous people would speak on this. So far it’s only you & Olivia Munn who have called them out for this preposterous PR stunt.”

Olivia Munn, Amy Schumer and Olivia Wilde also mocked the spaceflight.

“I know this is probably obnoxious,” Olivia Munn said, “but it’s like, it’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs.”

“What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride?” she added. “I think it’s a bit gluttonous. Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind. What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?”

Jeff Bezos hopes to make space flights a money-making venture. He charges over $1 million for a seat. But the all-female crew flew for free on Monday.

Tyra Banks Wants Taylor Swift to Play Whitney Houston’s Role in ‘The Bodyguard’ Remake

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour director Sam Wrench is set to direct the remake, which prompted rumors that Kevin Costner, 70, will reprise his role as a romantic bodyguard, while Taylor Swift, 35, will play Whitney’s role as R&B superstar Rachel Marron.

In case Kevin Costner turns down the role, Tyra has another candidate in mind to play Taylor’s hunky love interest.

“I’m a Black girl. It was Whitney Houston as a Black girl and Kevin Costner as a White man. What if we flipped it and it was Taylor Swift and Idris Elba?” she told Today‘s Jenna Bush Hager.

Jenna agreed with Tyra that Idris would be a good substitute for Kevin. Tyra noted that Taylor and Idris, 52, playing opposite each other would be “so hot.” Imagine Idris carrying Taylor Swift in the pouring rain after saving her from a deranged stalker in the movie.

Taylor and Idris previously worked together on the disastrous 2019 movie Cats. Taylor played Bombalurina alongside Idris’ character Macavity.

But fans ripped the movie to shreds over its “creepy” portrayal of cats as people with human faces and furry bodies.

Universal pulled the movie from theaters following the public backlash.

However, Taylor’s fans, aka “Swifties”, speculate that she will play the role that Whitney made famous in The Bodyguard in 1992.

They note that Sam Wrench, who directed Taylor’s wildly successful Eras concert tour, is also directing the upcoming remake of The Bodyguard.

Swifties are anxious to hear Taylor sing Whitney’s hit songs “Run to You”, “I Will Always Love You”, and “I’m Every Woman” on the movie soundtrack.

But Whitney’s fans have a lot to say about Taylor stepping into Whitney’s shoes.

White House says Maryland man deported to El Salvador will not return to the U.S.

The Trump administration says a Maryland man who was deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador will not be returned to the U.S.

Abrego Garcia, a citizen of El Salvador, was in the U.S. illegally when he applied for legal alien status. A court order issued in 2019 barred his deportation back to El Salvador.

President Donald Trump has vowed to deport millions of illegal aliens – beginning with criminal gang members.

Officials said Garcia is a member of the notorious MS-13 street gang. Tattoos on his body allegedly prove he is a member of MS-13, but Garcia denied the allegations.

Garcia was among a group of alleged gang members deported back to El Salvador on March 15. However, on April 10, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to “facilitate” Garcia’s return to the U.S.

The Trump administration said the Supreme Court’s order stated only that they “facilitate” Garcia’s return. The administration took that to mean they are under no obligation to bring him back.

In response to a question from CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, President Bukele said, “I hope you’re not suggesting that I smuggle a terrorist into the United States. How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? Of course I’m not going to do it. The question is preposterous.”

Under an agreement with El Salvador’s government, Trump plans to begin deporting U.S. citizens who are violent gang members to the CECOT prison in El Salvador.

“We always have to obey laws, but we also have homegrown criminals that push people into subways, that hit elderly ladies on the back of the head with a baseball bat when they’re not looking, that are absolute monsters,” Trump said during his meeting with Bukele. “I’d like to include them.”

IRS Extends Tax Filing Deadline for Georgia Residents to May 1

The Internal Revenue Service has extended the federal tax deadline for Georgia residents to May 1.

If you are a Georgia resident and you haven’t filed your taxes yet, you’ve still got time.

The federal tax deadline is April 15, but residents in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and other states have until May 1, 2025 to file both state and federal taxes.

An emergency declaration gave Hurricane Helene victims an extension to file their taxes. The extension applies to everyone in the state of Georgia even if you weren’t affected by the hurricane.

The extension also applies to small business owners who file quarterly estimated payments. The April 15 estimated payment is extended until May 1, 2025.

The IRS extended the tax deadline for certain states to provide relief for Hurricane Helene victims who are still cleaning up and renovating their homes and businesses after the storm.

Taxpayers in the Los Angeles, California area that were affected by wildfires have until October 15, 2025 to file their federal and state taxes.

Teen killer Karmelo Anthony Released From Texas Jail On $250K Bond

The Texas teenager who fatally stabbed a high school star football player will be released from jail today, April 14. Karmelo Anthony, 17, was charged with fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Texas high school track meet earlier this month.

Judge Angela Tucker reduced Karmelo’s $1 million bail to $250,000, allowing him to walk free after supporters donated over $400,000 to GiveSendGo.

Karmelo’s defense attorneys had asked the judge to lower his bond to $150,000. Prosecutors noted that Karmelo’s father, Andrew Anthony, raised over $400,000 in donations. They asked why he couldn’t use that money to pay 10% of Karmelo’s $1 million bond, according to CBS 11 News.

However, Andrew Anthony told the court he did not have access to the GiveSendGo funds and he couldn’t afford to pay the $1 million bond.

Karmelo’s lawyers also said the money was not for his bail but to pay the law firm for his legal defense.

Karmelo’s father was also questioned in court about an altercation involving Karmelo at his high school in February. It isn’t clear whether Karmelo was the aggressor in the February “assault”.

Louis Vuitton factory in Texas struggling to find skilled workers to make bags

The Louis Vuitton factory in Texas is having trouble finding skilled workers to make bags at the brand’s quality standards. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on products and goods imported into the U.S. has caused a shift in manufacturing back to the U.S.

However, the Louis Vuitton factory on a 250-acre ranch in Alvarado is having difficulty finding skilled workers due to Trump’s mass deportations.

The factory is located about 30 miles south of Fort Worth, Texas. The facility opened in 2019 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by President Trump.

In an internal memo to staff, management noted that the Texas factory is “significantly” under-performing due to issues with hiring skilled workers who can make the bags.

Reuters interviewed 11 former Louis Vuitton workers who described supervisors turning a blind eye to defects in the bags that are stamped “MADE IN USA.”

“It took them years to start making the simple pockets of the Neverfull handbag,” one source told Reuters.

Errors during the cutting and preparing led to a 40% loss of the leather hides, the source said.

One former employee said skilled workers who are hired and trained will leave after several weeks, or months. The pay isn’t that great – only $17 an hour.
