Donald Trump Sentenced in ‘Historic’ Hush Money Case

President-elect Donald Trump was spared prison time when he was formally sentenced to an “unconditional discharge” in his hush money case in New York on Friday.

A Manhattan judge declined to sentence Trump to prison time or impose a fine on the incoming President.

Trump is the first incoming U.S. President to be sentenced in a criminal case. He will be the first sitting President with a felony conviction when he’s sworn in on January 20.

Trump made his court appearance on a computer monitor. One of his lawyers sat alone in the courtroom as the judge handed down his sentence.

The judge said an unconditional discharge was the “only lawful sentence, without encroaching upon the highest office in the land”.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in a NY courthouse in May 2024.

Prosecutors said Trump’s then-attorney Michael Cohen paid adult film star Stormy Daniels $130,000 prior to the 2016 presidential election.

On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined Trump’s request to delay his sentencing. The conservative Supreme Court decided 5-4 to let the sentencing move forward.

Trump said he thought the Supreme Court’s ruling was a “fair decision.” He plans to appeal the trial verdict and sentencing.

In a lengthy post on his Truth Social app on Friday, Trump wrote, “The Radical Democrats have lost another pathetic, un-American Witch Hunt.”

“Today’s event was a despicable charade, and now that it is over, we will appeal this Hoax,” Trump added.

Trump supporters accused President Joe Biden of using “lawfare” to throw Trump in prison before the elections.

But Biden was ousted from the race as the incumbent president in a coup by his own party in July 2024. Vice President Kamala Harris was handed the presidential nomination without having to compete in a primary.

Americans who voted for Democrats their entire lives called the decision to oust Biden “undemocratic.”

Against all odds, Trump won the November 5, 2024 presidential election in a “historic” landslide.

The NY hush money case was the only one of four criminal indictments that went to trial. Trump and 18 others were indicted in Georgia for attempting to overturn the 2020 elections.

Four defendants copped a plea for violating Georgia’s RICO statute.

But a Georgia Appeals Court recently disqualified Fulton County DA Fani Willis from the case.

Willis filed an appeal of her disqualification on Wednesday. She asked Georgia’s highest court to reverse the lower court’s ruling. She argued that the ruling “overreached the Court of Appeals’ authority.”

She went on to thank the “brave men and women in our fire department” who battled the blaze, and “who risked their lives in dangerous conditions.”

“We Thank you for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives,” she wrote. “This could have been so much worse with out [sic] the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders.”

Tina also offered a message of condolence for the thousands of people who lost their homes in the multiple fires burning in the Los Angeles area.

“To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you own ! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you (heart emoji),” she wrote. “I cannot imagine the pain and suffering and fear that you are enduring.. I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles !! We are resilient though and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass.'”

The news comes a month after Tina’s beach house in Texas was foreclosed on.

This week, it was reported that she lost her beach house to foreclosure in her native Galveston.

On December 6, the city deemed the structure a public safety hazard following years of warnings to make repairs after it was damaged by Hurricane Ike in 2008.

The house was missing windows and doors and the floors and stairs were unsafe.

The Galveston house went to auction Tuesday. But no one made a high enough bid, so it was repossessed by the bank.

Tina’s main house high in the Hollywood Hills survived a wildfire threat this week. But she’s not out of the woods yet. Strong winds can send burning embers flying for miles.

The death toll from the California wildfires has risen to 10, including a homeowner who died with a water hose in his hand.

Social media users speculated on the meaning behind the coat dress worn by incoming First Lady Melania Trump at President Jimmy Carter’s State funeral on Thursday.

Melania wore a black Valentino coat dress with a white button-down blouse underneath from the fall 2019 collection. She completed her look with classic black Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Mrs. Trump’s funeral attire with a dramatic printed white collar drew speculation from social media users.

They noted right collar featured a B&W print that shows 2 people kissing among roses and a butterfly. The black-and-white print is based on a 19th-century neoclassical sculpture of kissing lovers, according to Vogue magazine.

One X (Twitter) user wrote, “Melania’s Coat Dress that she wore today is by designer, Valentino. Valentino used a print of the sculpture ‘The Kiss’ in this collection that she’s wearing. The sculpture was originally conceived by a larger sculpture titled, ‘The Gates of Hell.’ How fitting to wear in a room full of traitors.”

Another Melania’s supporter noted that she chooses her outfits with “thoughtful intention.”

“Everything she does is with thoughtful intention,” the fan wrote, before adding, “Style is back.”

While Trump supporters praised Melania’s designer look, some on social media were left confused by her funeral attire.

Michelle Obama did not attend the funeral with her husband. Mrs. Obama’s office said she couldn’t attend due to a scheduling conflict.

Former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton sat next to Bush and his wife, Laura Bush. Social media users interpreted their sour faces as annoyance at Trump and Obama.

Trump supporters were furious that Trump and Obama appeared to be friendly at the service. Much of the reactions on social media were too disrespectful to repost here.

President Biden and Gov. Newsom sent “surplus fire equipment” from Los Angeles to Ukraine.

The fires wiped out Pacific Palisades the same week that President Biden authorized another $500 million to Ukraine.

5 people are confirmed dead and 2,000 structures burned to the ground, including mansions, shopping malls, stores and churches. 130,000 people were ordered to evacuate and 20 square miles of valuable land went up in flames.

Paris Hilton, 43, said she watched her waterfront Malibu home burn to the ground on live television in an emotional social media post Wednesday.

“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” the socialite said on X/Twitter.

The Malibu house is not her main residence, but she was staying there with her 5 puppies when the wildfires began.

Hilton said she bundled her “babies”, her five dogs, into the back of her car as she fled her Malibu mansion in the middle of the night.

She shared a video clip of her animals all gathered together on the backseat as she described running around her home to find each of her pets.

She said: “Okay we found everyone – we are packing up the car and getting ready to go to the hotel.”

At least 5 wildfires are still blazing in the Los Angeles area. A fire broke out in the Hollywood Hills near the famed Hollywood sign. But, unlike Pacific Palisades where fire hydrants ran dry, L.A. firefighters used helicopters to drop ocean water to protect Hollywood’s tourist attractions.

Los Angeles residents complained that the wildfires were intentionally set to destroy homes so Wall Street investment firm Blackrock can buy land to build rental homes (“You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.”)

“Los Angeles must never forgive the useless liberals who sleepwalked into this inferno,” said Maureen Callahan, an American writer for DailyMail.com.

Cam Newton rebuked sports journalist Jason Whitlock for making “inappropriate” and sexist comments about Whitlock’s former colleague Joy Taylor.

Whitlock made the comments in response to a lawsuit filed by former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji.

Faraji accused Taylor of having romantic relationships with male colleagues at Fox Sports to further her career at the network.

Whitlock was raked over the coals for commenting on Taylor’s “big rack,” a reference to her bra size. Whitlock worked for Fox Sports when Taylor started working at the network in 2016.

In a podcast, Whitlock suggested that Taylor’s assets were distracting, and he kept his distance from her because, “I know what I’m capable of. That big rack of hers – she showed off constantly, and that peanut butter skin with that big rack…”

In his podcast this week, Cam Newton suggested that Whitlock should stay in his lane because he can’t pull a hot woman like Joy Taylor.

“You’re not that guy, pal, you’re not. That big rack of hers? That’s inappropriate. That butter skin? That’s inappropriate. Like, bro, you’re not that guy,” Newton said. “Stay in your lane.”

Newton continued, “You’re having an out-of-body experience and it’s time for me to put you back in your body to let you know, bro, you’re not that guy, pal.”

Then Newton suggested Whitlock might go both ways: “Who you f***ing? Who you sleeping with? Bring her to the forefront — him to the forefront.”

Whitlock responded to Newton in a new podcast, referring to the former NFL quarterback as “Captain Save a Joy.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen Pence, refused to shake hands with President-elect Donald Trump at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral service in D.C. on Thursday.

Video shows Trump and his wife, Melania, shaking hands with Al Gore and Pence. But Pence’s wife, Karen, refused to greet the Trumps.

An anti-trump account on X (Twitter) wrote: “BREAKING: Mike Pence’s wife, Karen Pence, REFUSES to greet Trump at President Carter’s funeral. Given that Trump unleashed a mob that tried to kill her husband, this makes total sense.”

Another person wrote: My hero of the day is @Mike_Pence wife. She basically told the Trump’s to FO! Kudos to her.”

A third person wrote, “Pence is dignified and Trump will be burning him down on Twitter later today. Mike Pence’s wife tho! She wasn’t having it. Didn’t even look at the nut who tried to kill her husband and rightfully so!”

Anti-Trumpers believe the president-elect’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol to kill Pence before he could certify Joe Biden’s presidency on January 6, 2021.

Pence and other lawmakers were in the U.S. Capitol building to certify the 2020 election results when Trump’s supporters held a protest outside.

Former VP Pence and Trump have not seen each other since the January 6 protests.

Trump was later indicted in Georgia for attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

ABC News Anchor Roasted As ‘Narcissistic’ for Using Clothespins to Pull His Jacket tight

ABC News anchor David Muir is being roasted on social media for his “svelte” style while Los Angeles residents are losing their homes.

Muir, 53, used clothespins to pull his jacket tight while reporting on the wildfires in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

“As you can see here behind me,” Muir said, while turning away from the camera. The clothespins were clearly visible on the back of Muir’s ABC News-branded rain jacket.

Social media users said the pins were fixed to show off the vain anchor’s chiseled upper torso.

“Nice jacket bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothes line pegs, while our city burns to the ground,” television producer Jack Osbourne wrote on X (Twitter).

David Muir

At least 5 people are dead and over 2,000 structures destroyed by the fast-moving fires in the Los Angeles area.

Muir was also mocked on his Instagram account, with one poster writing: “You’re so vain, you probably think this fire’s about you, don’t you,” a reference to Carly Simon’s classic hit song.

Another person wrote: “if you wanted a tailored look then go to a fashion show! So embarrassing.”

A third person wrote: “Does he pack clothes pins for fashion emergencies? Who the hell would have clothes pins on them in a burning inferno? Guy needs help.”

Clothespins were used in the olden days to keep wet laundry from blowing away on a clothesline outside. Clothespins were in widespread use before washing machines and dryers were affordable.

Muir’s fashion faux pas is being compared to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, who stood in waist-high water during Hurricane Ike in Texas in 2008 — while his cameraman stood in water up to his ankles.

“The idea I am kneeling in water to make it look deep is idiotic,” Cooper said in his defense after the image went viral in 2018. Cooper’s flood image is one of the most popular memes in social media history.

Family of Ashley Elkins confirms she is deceased. Ex-boyfriend in custody

Ashley Elkins is confirmed dead 6 days after she went missing near Detroit, Michigan. Elkins, a 30-year-old hairstylist, disappeared after her ex-boyfriend made a fake hair appointment last week.

“They had broken up in September. We know that Ashley didn’t want anything to do with him,” her uncle, Maurice Morton told Local News 4 on Wednesday.

Morton, who is the spokesperson for the family, said they met with police and were advised that Elkins is deceased. He said police don’t have her body, but they have a good idea where her remains can be found.

The Warren and Roseville Police Departments executed a search warrant at the apartment of Deandre Booker, 32. Police found Elkins’s car at the apartment complex in Roseville. They also seized a dumpster on the property.

Other evidence found in Booker’s apartment shows Elkins met with foul play in the residence, police said.

“Our information is this was a homicide as all the evidence is indicating there was a violent end,” Roseville Police Chief Mitch Berlin said on Wednesday.

According to family members, Elkins left her Warren home on Knox Avenue around 8:30 a.m. to run errands on Jan. 2.

Elkins’s mother, Monika Elkins, FaceTimed Elkins, but she didn’t answer or call back.

Elkins’s sisters used a phone app to ping her last location. The last place Elkins’s phone pinged was at Booker’s apartment complex.

Booker will be arraigned at the Roseville District Court at 10 a.m. Thursday. He faces related charges, but “not for murder at this time,” said Morton, who added that the family was frustrated with the pace of the investigation.

“We felt that things could have gone faster,” he said. “But we do know that since Monday the police have worked hard. We’re thankful to get to the point of getting some information. It’s not the information we would want…”

Morton said Elkins’ sons, ages 10 and 7, are grieving the loss of their mother. The boys are in the care of their father and grandparents.
