Joe Budden’s charges could be upgraded after it was revealed that his neighbor’s minor daughters saw him standing butt naked outside their apartment.

Budden, 44, was charged with trying to enter a neighbor’s apartment while wearing only his birthday suit. The retired rapper-turned-podcaster was hit with a lewdness charge after the incident on December 4, 2024.

Edgewater police were called to the New Jersey apartment complex by a resident who complained that Budden was standing butt-naked outside her apartment door. Ring camera footage allegedly shows the podcaster entering a code into the resident’s door keypad multiple times before returning to his own apartment across the hall.

“On December 4 at approximately 07:21am, The Edgewater Police were dispatched to an apartment complex for the report from a resident that a man was standing outside of their apartment door completely naked,” according to the police report.

Budden may face more charges because the woman’s underage daughters witnessed his nudity on their mother’s cell phone.

Budden seemed to respond to the allegations via social media on Tuesday (Dec. 31).

“Y’all so dramatic,” he wrote in a post on X (Twitter).

Budden suggested he was sleepwalking when the incident occurred.

“I just sleptwalked somewhere I shouldn’t have sleptwalked,” he said. “You know how I sleep. Butt-a*s [naked]. Nice naked-a*s, good naked sleepwalk. I just did it again.”

His attorney, Nima Ameri, called out the police chief for targeting a Black man. She said the police department’s press release was “inflammatory and slanderous”.

“The allegations against Mr. Budden are a minor charge, not even resulting in an arrest. A charge Mr. Budden is looking forward to beating in court on the merits, not in the press,” Ameri told TMZ. “The chief’s comments are reckless and, in our opinion, racially motivated.”

“Had Mr. Budden not been a prominent Black voice for his community, we do not believe such a press release would have been issued over these mediocre allegations,” she added.

Simone Biles is Sports Illustrated‘s 2024 Sportsperson of the Year, the magazine announced on Thursday. Colorado football Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter was named Breakout Star of the Year.

SI named Simone the Sportsperson of the Year “because she won gold, and then another gold, and then another; because she changed the face of her sport and the conversations around athletes in general.”

Other honorees include Basketball Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo, who received the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award, and NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman, who was named the inaugural Innovator of the Year winner.

Simone, 27, is the first Olympian to be recognized as Sportsperson of the Year since 2012 when LeBron James led the U.S. men’s basketball team gold at the London Games.

Simone has won 11 Olympic medals, including 7 gold medals. At the 2024 Tokyo Olympic Games, she won four overall medals, including gold in the team competition, individual all-around and vault.

Although she wears a diamond pendant in the likeness of a goat (greatest of all time), Simone says she’s not ready to consider the full magnitude of her legacy.

“I don’t think the reality has set in of what I’ve exactly done in the sport. I can see it, and I hear it from people, and I see a glimpse of it, but the full magnitude I don’t think I’ve realized just yet,” Simone said. “I don’t think I’ll realize ’til maybe I retire and look back in a couple years like, Damn, she was good. Because I can see that, but I do it every day. So for me, it’s normal.”

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark won the AP Female Athlete of the Year and TIME magazine 2024 Athlete of the Year – among her many honors. But she was snubbed by Sports Illustrated.

The WNBA star has racked up awards and honors for her entertaining style of play in 2023 and 2024. Caitlin became the first person to break the NCAA scoring record since “Pistol Pete” Maravich set the record 50 years ago.

Simone Biles, Travis Hunter, Dikembe Mutombo and Jessica Berman will all be honored at the Sportsperson of the Year awards ceremony on Jan. 7 in Las Vegas.

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka was called out for allegedly posting a fake photo of his bruised face on social media. The post claimed that Waka, real name Juaquin Malphurs, 38, was attacked by a group of 10 people.

But the image he posted shows what appears to be stage makeup around his eyes.

The photo has prompted speculation that Waka Flocka posted a fake image for sympathy.

Some of his followers expressed sympathy for the aging rapper. But others criticized him for running to social media to complain that people didn’t help him in a fist fight.

One fan wrote: “Sad bro going this far just for some attention. Ni**a is 2025, if 10 ppl really jumped you, where’s the video? You don’t think ppl would record beating up Waka Flocka? lol come on now.”

Others implied that Waka may have been jumped because of his political affiliation with President-elect Donald Trump.

One person wrote: “Was this at a Trump rally?”

Someone else wrote: “He got jumped by 10 dudes and that’s all he look like?”

New Orleans Terror Attack and Trump Hotel Car Bombing Linked to the Same App

A car explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas has been linked to a terror attack that killed 15 people in New Orleans on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Police say Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, mowed down New Year revelers with a rented Ford EV pickup truck around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Jabbar then jumped out of the truck and fired a semi-automatic rifle into the crowd. 15 people are confirmed dead and at least 35 wounded.

Jabbar wore body armor and camouflage. He was fatally shot by New Orleans police during an exchange of gunfire.

A flag pole wrapped with a black ISIS flag was attached to the truck hitch.

Federal investigators linked the New Orleans mass casualty event to a Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Both trucks were rented through the Turo car-sharing app.

The Cybertruck detonated outside the hotel lobby doors, but the design of the $80,000 vehicle contained the fire inside the truck. The hotel was not damaged.

Investigators say cans of flammable racing fuel were packed inside the truck and detonated by the driver. The Cybertruck’s design directed the blast upwards.

The driver, 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger of Colorado Springs, was killed in the explosion. The FBI said Livelsberger and the New Orleans terrorist served on the same military base in the past. Officials have not said if the 2 terrorists knew each other.

Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, said the terrorist incident in Las Vegas, which injured 7, was the best advertising for his Cybertruck.

Musk tweeted: “The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken.”

In New Orleans, the FBI said Jabbar had three accomplices who planted IEDs around Bourbon and Canal Streets on New Year’s Eve. One of the IEDs was detonated by a bomb squad.

“He was hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did,” said Police Commissioner Anne Kirkpatrick at a press conference on Wednesday. “It was very intentional behavior. This man was trying to run over as many people as he could.”

Controversial New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell described the killings as a “terrorist attack.” But the FBI contradicted Cantrell and said there was no evidence of a terrorist attack. The FBI later confirmed the attack was terror-related and that Jabbar did not act alone.

The Sugar Bowl college football quarterfinal game was postponed until Thursday after the terror attack in New Orleans.

Officials said 500+ police officers will work to ensure safety at the Sugar Bowl.

President-elect Donald Trump said his administration would “fully support” the city of New Orleans. “Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department,” Trump said.

Trump initially said the terrorist was an illegal migrant.

In a promo video recorded in 2022, Jabbar described himself as a real estate agent who served in the U.S. Army as an IT specialist for 10 years. Jabbar said he was born in Beaumont, Texas, but lived in Houston.

Georgia police warn against celebratory gunfire on New Year’s Eve

Georgia police warned they will arrest those who celebrate New Year’s Eve by firing guns into the air.

In statements on Tuesday, law enforcement officials warned against celebratory gunfire and the potential for deadly incidents. Americans all over the country have been killed by bullets that rain down on their homes during New Year’s Eve celebrations.

One tragic incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in 2010 when 4-year-old Marquel Peters was killed while attending a church service in Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta. A stray bullet fired into the air fell through the church roof, killing Marquel instantly.

Marquel’s death led to the creation of Marquel’s Pledge, a campaign aimed at stopping celebratory gunfire across Georgia.

One of the tools used by law enforcement agencies is ShotSpotter, a gunfire locator service that alerts police to celebratory gunfire on New Year’s Eve, on New Year’s Day, and on the Fourth of July.

Law enforcement agencies are encouraging gun owners to prioritize safety to prevent further tragedies. Georgia prosecutors are taking a hard stance on celebratory gunfire with year-long jail sentences and stiff fines for those caught firing guns into the air.

East Point Police Chief Sean Buchanan has prepared space in his jail for people who celebrate New Year’s Eve with gunfire. “Our number one goal at the police department is to keep this city safe,” he said in a video posted to Facebook.

“Please do not shoot guns in the air,” Buchanan said. “Celebratory gunfire causes many deaths each year in the United States.”

“We’ll have three times the number of officers on our streets, and they will be strategically placed within neighborhoods to catch people shooting firearms,” he added. “We don’t want to lock people up on New Year’s Eve, but if you’re shooting a firearm, that’s where you’re going — to jail,” he said.

Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro files another motion after judge rebuked his ‘relentless’ legal tactics

Last week, Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, angered a federal judge by filing “relentless” motions to dismiss a lawsuit against Jay-Z.

On Dec. 26, Spiro faced a scathing rebuke from Judge Analisa Torres for “wasting court resources”.

Judge Torres sided with an Alabama woman who accused the 55-year-old rapper of assaulting her when she was 13. The plaintiff added Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) to the lawsuit she filed against Sean Combs.

In a five-page ruling released on Dec. 26, Judge Torres condemned Spiro’s “litany” of legal filings, describing them as “combative” and filled with “inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks” against the plaintiff’s attorney, Tony Buzbee.

Judge Torres wrote: “Carter’s lawyer’s relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client.”

She continued: “The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it.”

But Spiro refuses to sit down quietly and allow the case to go to trial. His client, Jay-Z, is desperate to avoid a trial.

In a new motion filed on Monday, Spiro claims the case should be dismissed due to expired deadlines.

Spiro said that Buzbee – who is representing the victim – glossed over critical details that should nullify the case.

TMZ reported on Monday that Spiro told Judge Torres he intends to file yet another motion to dismiss, citing the expired statute of limitations.

Spiro claims the legal statute the woman is suing under was not in effect until three months after she was allegedly raped in 2000.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Spiro said that the statute “can’t be applied against the rapper retroactively.”

Again, Spiro argued that the mansion described in the woman’s lawsuit — located about 20 minutes away from Radio City Music Hall — does not exist. He added that the lawsuit was filed outside the statute of limitations, which expired in August 2021.

Spiro indicated that he will not stop pushing until Judge Torres drops the lawsuit against Jay-Z, who has a lot to lose if the case goes to trial.

Buzbee told TMZ in a statement Monday, “These are technical arguments being made and the law is clearly on our side and the side of alleged victims. The law is well settled that we are correct.”

Beyoncé Wins 12-Year Battle for Blue Ivy Carter Trademark

12 years and millions of dollars later, Beyoncé can finally register the trademark for her daughter Blue Ivy’s name. Beyoncé began her trademark battle while her surrogate was still carrying Blue Ivy in her belly.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z went to court to fight the owner of a Wisconsin clothing store before their eldest child, Blue Ivy, was even born.

The pop singer first tried to trademark Blue Ivy’s name, but the store owner already claimed the trademark for Blue Ivy.

BACKGRID

Via The U.S. Sun — “Beyonce’s BGK Trademark Holdings LLC applied at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office but ended up fighting with a wedding planner, Veronica Morales.

Morales, from Massachusetts, opposed the application as she had called her business Blue Ivy Events since September 2009, paperwork showed.

The dispute led to a tribunal in 2020 and the USPTO rejected Morales’ complaints and ruled the two were not enough alike.

Despite Beyoncé’s legal victory, her lawyers never continued with the application and it was eventually abandoned.

She applied a second time in November 2023, but again quickly ran into issues when an examiner issued a tentative ruling because of a Wisconsin clothing store having a Blue Ivy logo.

But after challenging the denial, The U.S. Sun can confirm they have now been allowed to go forward with the process.

The boutique itself never opposed the application.”

The Capricorn’s birth announcement at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards sparked a frenzy and nearly broke the Internet.

But Beyoncé’s prosthetic belly did break the Internet when it folded over on an Australian talk show. Beyoncé never got over the shame of “Bumpgate”.

Taliban Bans Homes with Windows To Block Women Being Seen Inside

Windows are banned in new construction in Afghanistan to block women from being seen inside homes.

The Taliban is taking new steps to reverse women’s rights since taking over the country after the U.S. military departed in 2020.

In addition to mandating burkas, banning education for girls beyond grade six, and banning women from attending universities, women can not be seen inside their homes.

A decree by the Taliban’s supreme leader states that new buildings can not have windows installed that might show “the courtyard, kitchen, neighbor’s well and other places usually used by women,” according to a translation by France24.

The decree referred to the sight of women as “nuisances caused to their neighbors.”

Existing windows in old houses should be blocked with a wall or obstructed in some way “to avoid nuisances caused to neighbors.”

Earlier this month, the United Nations urged the Taliban to respect the rights of women in Afghanistan, warning that the future of the nation depends on safeguarding the rights of all its citizens.

Joe Budden has been arrested and charged with trying to enter a neighbor’s apartment wearing only his birthday suit. The 44-year-old retired rapper was hit with a charge of lewdness for an incident on December 4, 2024.

A screenshot of the podcaster’s booking info went viral on X (Twitter) on Sunday, December 29. Budden is charged with lewdness, sexual misconduct or indecency in public.

The Edgewater Police Department issued a press release stating that authorities were called to an Edgewater apartment complex after a female resident complained about an uninvited intruder.

The 911 caller was alerted by her doorbell camera when she reportedly saw Budden standing butt-naked outside her apartment door. The video allegedly shows the podcaster entering a code into the resident’s door keypad multiple times, before returning to his own apartment across the hall.

The woman provided doorbell camera footage of the incident to the police.

Budden’s defense might claim that the illegal act is related to a sleep disorder. Budden has previously mentioned on his podcast that he is a sleepwalker.

He is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2025.
