Cassie Ventura: ‘No Comment’ On the Indictment and Arrest of Ex Sean Combs

R&B singer Cassie Ventura had “no comment” after the indictment and arrest of her abusive ex-boyfriend Sean Combs.

Combs was taken into custody by federal agents from Homeland Security at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Monday, Sept. 16.

“Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the Southern District of New York,” Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District, said in a statement.

According to a federal indictment unsealed on Tuesday, Combs was hit with charges of sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, racketeering conspiracy, and arson.

“We knew this was coming,” Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told reporters outside the federal courthouse on Tuesday.

He said Combs anticipated the charges ever since the feds raided his homes back in March.

The lawyer said Combs’s spirits are good. “He’s been dealing with this head on the way he has dealt with every challenge in his life.”

Cassie Ventura said “No comment” in a brief statement issued through her attorney, Douglas Wigdor, on Tuesday.

“In response to the numerous inquiries we have received regarding the indictment of Sean Combs, neither Ms. Ventura nor I have any comment,” the statement read. “We appreciate your understanding and if that changes, we will certainly let you know.”

The rap mogul’s arrest didn’t come as a complete surprise to insiders who claimed he would not be arrested because he’s a federal snitch. Now they’re saying the arrest is just a cover and that Combs will be released on bond today.

One insider said to expect a shocking arrest of a major rap figure in connection with Combs’ case. Combs is pictured with Cassie, rapper Jay Z, his wife, Beyonce, and Kim Kardashian in 2015.

Combs didn’t attempt to evade the long arms of the law by fleeing the country. His attorney said he voluntarily “relocated” to NY to face the indictment.

He could have hopped on a private jet and flown to Bali to hang out with Russell Simmons.

Simmons sold all of his assets and fled to Bali to evade arrest on sexual assault charges. Bali does not have an extradition agreement with the United States.

MEGA/WENN

Remember when Cassie shaved off one side of her head and fans thought it was an edgy new style? Well, rumor has it she was forced to shave her hair after Combs snatched her bald during an abusive episode. She is pictured with Combs in Jamaica in 2013.

Combs’ arrest comes after his homes in California and Florida were raided by Homeland Security agents in late March.

The hip-hop mogul recently listed his L.A. mansion for $70 million after a private listing failed to generate any interest from billionaires.

Combs’ downfall began in late November 2023 when Cassie filed a sex trafficking and abuse lawsuit against him. He quickly settled the lawsuit the next day for unspecified terms.

Despite the quick settlement, a news outlet published shocking video that showed Combs chasing Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel. Surveillance video showed Combs throwing her to the floor and kicking her before attempting to drag her back to his suite. He later threw a glass vase at her.

The former stripper talked about a phone call she received from Jay Z in the ’90s cautioning her about “getting her hopes up” of ever having a career as a rapper. He warned her that women “don’t really do that well” in the entertainment business. Another executive later told her she should give up rapping and just get pregnant by some rich guy. Eve went on to drop her hit single “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” and her debut album sold 2 million copies in 1999.

Sean Combs Arrested After Grand Jury Indictment in NY

Music mogul Sean Combs was arrested at a New York hotel on Monday evening after a grand jury indicted him on unspecified charges.

Combs was taken into custody by federal agents at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Monday, Sept. 16.

“Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the Southern District of New York,” Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District, said in a statement.

MediaPunch / BACKGRID

“To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts,” Agnifilo said.

Agnifilo added he was “disappointed” by the SDNY’s decision to pursue “unjust prosecution” of Combs.

MediaPunch / BACKGRID

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community,” said Agnofilo in a statement to USA Today. “He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal,” he added.

Combs’ arrest comes after his homes in California and Florida were raided by Homeland Security agents in late March.

Combs, 54, issued an apology to Cassie after the video leaked. He said he was at “rock bottom” and was “truly sorry” for his actions in the video.

In response, Cassie’s lawyer called Combs’ apology “pathetic”.

Eight more women and one man accused Combs of sex trafficking and sexual assault in multiple lawsuits.

A week before Combs’ arrest, former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard sued Combs for allegedly groping her and sexually harassing her.

Richard (center) claimed to have witnessed Combs abusing Cassie, and she said her Diddy-Dirty Money group mate, Kalenna Harper (left), also witnessed the abuse.

But in a social media post last week, Harper denied witnessing any abuse. She suggested Richard made up the allegations against Combs.

The lawyer representing accusers Liza Gardner, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones and April Lampros told Rolling Stone he was not surprised by Combs’ arrest.

“The long-awaited arrest of Sean Combs is the first step for our clients receiving justice,” attorney Tyrone Blackburn said in a statement. “We leave the criminal aspect of this case in the hands of the people and justice system. As for the civil cases, we await our time for the facts to reveal themselves and seek the justice our clients deserve, We also anticipate more victims coming forward. We knew this was coming. The evidence is very clear, and it was only a matter of time. This is an important step towards justice for all of Mr. Combs’ victims, including my clients.”

The adoptive mother of ballerina Michaela DePrince passed away the day after DePrince’s sudden death at age 29. A family spokesperson said Elaine DePrince died on Wednesday, Sept. 11, just one day after Michaela was found dead in her home.

Elaine was unaware that Michaela had died.

“The last few days have been even more difficult than most people realize because the family has also been dealing with the death of Michaela’s adoptive mother Elaine DePrince,” family spokesperson Jessica Volinski wrote.

She said Elaine “died during a routine procedure in preparation for a surgery.”

Volinski added that although “Michaela died before Elaine,” her mother “did not know of Michaela’s passing at the time of her procedure.”

“As unbelievable as it may seem, the two deaths were completely unrelated. The only way we can make sense of the senseless is that Elaine, who had already lost three children many years ago, was by the grace of God spared the pain of experiencing the loss of a fourth child.”

“What the family is going through right now is truly unimaginably painful. Grieving two family members who died within a 24 hour period is tragic and devastating,” the post read.

Other blogs stated that Michaela took her own life after her mother died. But that is not true. The family did not release a cause or manner of death.

The family only said Michaela “died suddenly” on Sept. 10.

Michaela was born in war-torn Sierra Leone. She lived in an orphanage with her sister until Elaine and her husband adopted them and brought them to New Jersey.

Michaela learned to dance and she went on to become one of the nation’s premiere solo ballerinas for the Boston Ballet.

A Springfield, Ohio woman admits she lied about Haitian immigrants eating cats and dogs. Erika Lee is behind the false rumors that Haitian immigrants were “eating pets.”

Lee wrote a Facebook post detailing the disappearance of a neighbor’s cat. She included her neighbor’s suspicion that Haitian residents cooked and ate her cat.

The stories were debunked by local police chiefs in Ohio, but former President Donald Trump repeated the conspiracy theories during his first debate with Harris on Tuesday.

“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs—the people that came in,” Trump said about Haitian immigrants. “They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”

“I’m not a racist,” Erika Lee told NBC News. She added that her daughter is half-Black and she herself is mixed race and a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Everybody seems to be turning it into that, and that was not my intent,” she added.

“It just exploded,” said Lee of her Facebook post. “I didn’t think it would ever get past Springfield.”

Lee said concern for her daughter’s safety led her to withdraw her child from public school. She is considering moving due to the threats.

“I feel for the Haitian community,” she said. “If I was in the Haitians’ position, I’d be terrified, too.” Lee added that she is afraid “somebody’s going to come after me because they think I’m hurting something that they love and that, again, that’s not what I was trying to do.”

Haitian advocacy groups took to social media to shut down the rumors. They said Haitians who have been in American for years are getting death threats.

Over 20,000 Haitians were flown to Ohio from the southern border. Springfield was not prepared to handle the influx of some of the Haitians. The city has not been able to meet the demand for housing, health care, and education for the immigrants.

Update: Palm Beach prosecutor: ‘It will be tough to charge Trump gunman. He never fired a shot’

Update: Dave Aronberg, the state attorney for Palm Beach, says it will be “tough to charge” the gunman who attempted to assassinate Trump.

A deranged Florida man was arrested following an alleged attempted assassination of the former President on Sunday.

The incident occurred outside Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, where Trump was playing a round of golf with friends.

Aronberg said it will be difficult to file charges against the gunman because he was more than 300 yards away from Trump and he never fired a shot. 300 yards is the length of a football field.

“You could charge someone with various crimes, perhaps an attempted murder, without having a shot fired,” said Aronberg. “If you’ve gone through the planning and have, you know, done something substantial to effectuate that. So you don’t have to have a shot fired. But because the former president was so far away, 305 hundred yards away on a different hole, I think it’s going to be tough to charge him with the crime against Trump.”

Aronberg said it would be “much easier to charge him with a crime against a Secret service agent who apparently saw the rifle pointed at him. That’s the key witness here. And that would be perhaps the most serious charge.”

The Secret Service agent opened fire at the fence, hitting the backpacks 4 times.

Ryan Routh, 58, was later pulled over by Florida police officers after he fled the scene in a black Nissan SUV.

His son, Oren Routh, described him as “a loving and caring father,” and that the allegations sounded “nothing like him.”

Routh’s social media accounts were scrubbed by X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook late Sunday.

His bizarre rants portrayed a mentally unstable man who called on Republicans Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy to team up against Trump to create a “winning ticket now that we can all get behind.”

In other posts, Routh tried to recruit fighters for Ukraine and he described North Korea’s Kim Jong Un as “very smart and educated.”

Fox News’ Sean Hannity spoke to Trump after the incident at Trump International Golf Club.

“They heard pop, pop, pop, pop,” Hannity said.

“Within seconds, the Secret Service pounced on the president and covered him. You had snipers with tripods. They knew the direction where the shots had been fired, and they had eyes on the location where the shots had been fired,” Hannity added.

But the shots were fired by an agent, not by Routh.

Routh is in police custody. He will be held without bail.

The assassination attempt comes 2 months after a lone 20-year-old gunman fired 8 shots at Trump as he spoke at an outdoor rally in Pennsylvania. One bullet grazed Trump’s ear.

The gunman was shot and killed by a police sniper.

Trump thanked his supporters for their concern in a tweet on Monday.

Did Donald Trump Really Post ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT’?

An alleged post by former President Donald Trump went viral on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” read the post on Trump’s Truth Social app on Sunday morning.

After the post went viral, many users were confused about the source of the post. Did Trump really write such a trivial post or did someone in his camp write it?

The post seems like something Trump’s advisor Laura Loomer would write.

Last week, the pop superstar endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on Instagram.

In her post, Swift holds her pet cat and says she intends to vote for Harris for president of the United States in November. She urged her followers to do their own research.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Swift’s post drove more than 400,000 people to the Vote.gov website in a 24-hour period.

Swift, 34, also called out Trump for using her likeness in an AI-generated image endorsing him.

ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA

In an interview with Fox Business, the billionaire businessman said he wasn’t concerned about Swift suing him. He claimed the image was “made up by other people” in his camp.

His statement that “other people” in his camp made up the AI-generated image of Swift also prompted some journalists to suggest someone else wrote the “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” post.

Experts agree that the likelihood of Trump writing the post himself is slim to none. It is beneath a former U.S. president to write such a trivial statement during a presidential campaign.

Trump, 78, has terrible advisers in his corner. Including influencer Laura Loomer, who seems to be sabotaging his campaign from the inside.

ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA

The Harris-Walz campaign didn’t mention the post, but the campaign released a statement:

“The American people want to be Out of the Woods of the chaos and division of the Trump era, leave behind the Blank Space of Trump’s broken promises, and Begin Again by electing Vice President Harris to ensure America’s future of opportunity is Long Lived,” the press release said.

A’ja Wilson and Rookie Caitlin Clark Make Their Case for MVP

Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson and WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark both broke WNBA records over the weekend. Wilson became the first player in WNBA history to score 1,000 points in a single season on Sunday.

The crowd at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada gave Wilson a standing ovation after the two-time MVP hit a midrange jumper with just under 2 minutes to play in a game against the Connecticut Sun.

Wilson, 28, broke down in tears as she acknowledged the crowd who held up signs that read “1,000” and “THE GOAT.” Wilson’s teammates embraced her and congratulated her.

Last week, Wilson set the record for the most points scored in a single season after passing the existing record of 939 set by the Seattle Storm’s Jewell Loyd last year.

“It’s incredible,” Wilson said. “It kind of hit me when I saw literally everyone stand up when I got the basketball. I was like ‘Whoa, whoa … wait what? This is pressure.’ You got to love fans like that. Fans that are really into the game are the best ones.”

The Aces went on to beat the Sun by a score of 84-71.

Wilson’s boyfriend, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo tweeted one word in support of Wilson for league MVP.

“U’nanimous,” he wrote in a post on X on Sept. 12.

Meanwhile, Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark is also breaking WNBA records as she closes in on her first MVP trophy.

The 22-year-old Iowa graduate broke the rookie season record of 744 points set by Hall of Famer Seimone Augustus 18 years ago.

Clark seemingly breaks records in every game she plays. On Sunday, she torched the Dallas Wings for 35 points – her highest points total in a game this season.

Clark’s accomplishments include the WNBA’s single-season assists record, which she broke with 19 assists against the Dallas Wings in July.

Clark also became the first rookie to record a triple-double and she holds the record for the most three-pointers made a by a rookie in WNBA history.

She became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 300 career assists in a season.

Other records that have fallen to Clark include most made three pointers for a rookie (120), most double-doubles by a guard (14), most rebounds by a guard (222) and most assists in All-Star Game history (10).

Clark also owns the stats that matter the most. She fueled record-breaking ticket sales. The Indiana Fever sold 200,000 more tickets than any other WNBA team. The Fever also smashed viewership records across all TV networks. Clark’s teammates are benefiting as well. They’ve signed lucrative sponsorship deals — pushing them closer to becoming millionaires.

The Most Valuable Player trophy goes to the player who brings the most value to the league. Who else has brought more value to the WNBA this season?

NBA legend George Gervin had this to say about Caitlin Clark: “As good as Aces is, they still couldn’t bring what [Clark is] bringing to the game.”

Tito Jackson, original member of the Jackson 5 and older brother of Michael Jackson, has died. He was 70.

His “heartbroken” sons confirmed the news in a social media post early Monday.

Tito Jackson (born Toriano Adaryll Jackson) died of a suspected heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma on Sunday, his family confirmed.

Family friend Steve Manning told Entertainment Tonight that Tito likely suffered a heart attack while driving.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us,” his three sons — Taj, Taryll and TJ — wrote in an Instagram post.

“We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken,” they wrote. “Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as ‘Coach Tito’ or some know him as ‘Poppa T.’ Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you Pops.”

Tito was the third of 10 children born to the late Joseph Jackson and his wife Katherine Jackson.

When Tito was 10, his father disciplined him for breaking a string on his prized guitar. Afterward, Joe demanded that Tito play the guitar for him.

Impressed by his son’s skills, Joe bought him a guitar, and convinced Tito, Jackie, and Jermaine to form a singing group. Months later, little brothers Michael and Marlon joined the group. Joe named the band The Jackson 5.

The Jackson 5 signed a record deal with Motown Records in 1968 in Detroit. In 1969, Michael, Jermaine and Jackie traveled to Los Angeles to record the Jackson 5’s debut album. Studio singers provided the background vocals instead of Tito and Marlon, who remained at home in Gary, Indiana.

The group made history when their first 3 hits, “I Want You Back”, “ABC” and “The Love You Save”, peaked at No. 1 consecutively.

Tito was a talented guitar player, but Motown refused to allow him to play his guitar on the Jackson 5’s studio recordings. Session musicians were used in the studio instead of Tito and Jermaine, who played the bass guitar.

Tito released his first solo record in 2016. His single “Get it Baby”, featuring Big Daddy Kane from his album Tito Time, made him the ninth and final Jackson sibling to place a song on the charts.

Tito married his high school sweetheart Delores “Dee Dee” Martes in June 1972 at the age of 18. He was the first Jackson brother to get married. He kept his marriage a secret from his fans until their first son, Taj (right), was born in 1973.

Tito and Dee Dee Jackson were divorced in 1988. She tragically drowned in a swimming pool in 1994. Her death was initially ruled an accident. But in 1998, Los Angeles businessman, Donald Bohana, was convicted of 2nd-degree murder.

Brothers Marlon (left), Tito and Jackie continued to perform around the world as The Jacksons. They were scheduled to perform with Billy Ocean and the Pointer Sisters in Atlantic City, NJ on Oct. 25.

Chanti Dixon’s grieving mother lashed out at the Uber driver who took her daughter’s life.

Rise Dixon spoke with Scripps News Indianapolis after Chanti Dixon’s body was found on Monday, Sept. 9.

“She was fun, she was courageous, a ball of life. I keep waiting for her to walk through the door, but I know she’s not gonna walk through the door,” Rise Dixon said.

“For people out there that’s doing stuff like that man did to my child because you picked up a stripper at work and thought wasn’t nobody gonna care. We care. And y’all can’t do that,” Rise Dixon told WRTV.

Rise Dixon shared helpful advice for other women who ride Uber alone at night. “If you’re in the rideshare get on FaceTime with somebody. Take self-defense classes. Get you some protection that you’re comfortable with,” she said.

Police said Dixon ordered an Uber around 3:30 a.m. Sunday to take her home from work at Sunset Strip Club.

Dixon’s body was found dumped in a wooded area behind her home in Indianapolis on Monday, Sept. 9. Her worried family tracked her cell phone to the wooded area where they made the shocking discovery. 2 cell phones were found near her body.

Rise Dixon knew the passwords to both of Chanti’s phones. She gave them to police so they could access her text messages.

Detectives began their investigation by contacting Francisco Valadez, the 29-year-old Uber driver who picked Dixon up from work early Sunday.

Valadez reportedly told police that after he dropped Dixon off, a Black man attempted to rob her.

Valadez gave conflicting stories during his interrogation. He said the man shot Dixon in the thigh and Valadez fled the scene in his BMW. Valadez told police he cleaned Dixon’s blood out of the car.

Police questioned Valadez’s mother and seized the BMW. They found evidence including the murder weapon inside the car. He eventually confessed to shooting Dixon in the head after trying to have sex with her in the backseat of his car, police said.

Valadez said he shot Dixon in the head when she laughed at his small genitalia.

He said he dragged her body into the woods and he tried to have sex with her again.

Chanti was found naked, lying on her stomach with a sweatshirt pulled up over her head and arms.

In a statement, Uber said Valadez is banned from the ridesharing service if he is released on bond.

Friends and family said Chanti Dixon was a “fun loving” and a “dedicated mother” of 2 children, ages 10 and 13.
