    Sources have confirmed with AllHipHop.com that Jay-Z is working closely with Nicole Paultre Bell, Sean Bell’s widow, to institute the trust funds for both of their children. Nicole Bell appeared prominently in Jay-Z’s Rocawear “I Will Not Lose” advertising campaign with images that caused indignation within the NYPD’s Benevolent Association.

    The process began prior to the not guilty verdict for three police officers accused of slaying Sean Bell.

Jay Z stepped up to the plate for another man’s children. Hmmm…

The hip hop community has had different replies to the Sean Bell verdict. The Game, David Banner, Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, Styles P, Jadakiss, Mos Def and more have been openly upset at the verdict. Game even released a new track and now Jay-Z is giving his response. Jay-Z has established an educational trust for the children of Sean Bell. Jay-Z is reportedly closely working with Sean Bell’s widow, Nicole Paultre Bell, to institute the trust funds for both of their children.

Nicole Bell has already been in Jay-Z’s Rocawear “I Will Not Lose” campaign that caused indignation within the NYPD’s Benevolent Association. (Source)

Usher: ‘I Would Never Pimp My Baby’

Singer Usher Raymond reacted angrily to online reports that he sent out feelers to mainstream magazines asking $2 million in cash for exclusive pics of his newborn son. Allegedly, there were no takers, so Usher retracted his request – allegedly.

Now it could be that Usher – like Jay Z and Sean “Pimp Daddy” Combs, learned the hard way that they are not the true A-listers they thought themselves to be. And their pics don’t pull in the serious cheese like they wanted.

And then again, maybe it was just a rumor.

Usher told Pagesix.com that he would never sell pics of his son for money – and rumors about it angered him. “I am livid that people talk about my child,” Usher told Pagesix. He revealed that he posed – for free – with his son for an “incredible” Father’s Day cover for Essence magazine.

“What makes you a man more than being a father to your child? I recognize I gave anonymity away when I became an artist, but to have people try to paint a horrible picture of what’s so beautiful – it’s obvious someone is trying to stop something so beautiful.”

As he often feels he has to, Usher once again defended his right to marry the woman he wants to spend his life with. “I stand by her as a man loving my wife and being there for my child… Opinions are like [bleep]holes. Everybody’s got one. What I will say is, this is my wife and I would hope that [people] would respect my wife and my marriage and who I have chosen to spend my life with.” (Source)

According to Usher, he finally finished his album “Here I Stand” last week and a few select journalists have given it the thumbs up. “They noted that it was very courageous to take this direction in my music… They called it timeless.” Now when an artist changes his musical direction, that could be a good thing or a bad thing. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Once upon a time I had a journalist friend who who couldn’t contain his contempt for bloggers who he deemed amateurs pretending to be journalists.

I explained to him – and I have said repeatedly on my site – that I am not a journalist. I have also noted that this site is for entertainment purposes and it amazes me when people take blogs so seriously.

Thanks to fellow blogger Dr. Drew who sent this video of bloggers and real journalists going at each other’s throats. It’s a classic example of how, deep down inside, real journalists loath bloggers who they feel are taking their shine.

In this video, sports analyst Bob Costas moderates a round table discussion of the effects of hate blogging on sports. The bloggers and journalists are sports writers, but the arguments could apply across the board to gossip blogs and other personal blogs that sets a tone that affects the direction of the comments.

Congratulations are in order for a few of ATL’s own! First of all, fellow blogger Necole Bitchie took a star turn on Atlanta’s top station V-103 yesterday. That’s her pictured above with Chilli.

Necole dropped a few Entertainment gems during the Ryan Cameron Show which was being hosted by former Rocafella Records VP Kenny Burns. Kenny did a great job subbing for Ryan, by the way.

Necole talked about the fake nuptials between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon which allegedly took place on an island over the weekend. But more importantly, she said Rihanna has definitely replaced Beyoncé as the IT girl on the entertainment scene right now! Awww, look at Necole doing her thing!

Speaking of Rihanna, our girl is featured on the new Maroon 5 single “If I Never See Your Face again”.

And congratulations to SOHH Gyant (right) who recently got married! I totally forgot he was married because his wife has only been to Atlanta twice that I know of.

You see, she’s a foreigner who lives up north and Gyant is helping her secure her green card so she can stay in this country legally. Isn’t that nice of him? He’s such a great guy.

According to Gyant, his wife came to the A recently to attend a meeting with an INS official where she and Gyant, real name Lloyd T. Dinwiddie, had to show proof that they are living together as man and wife.

I don’t know why the Immigration and Naturalization service feels it’s necessary to harass the happy couple. There’s nothing out of the ordinary about long distance relationships. Doesn’t playwright Tyler Perry have a girlfriend who lives up north? Maybe one of my readers who works for the INS can explain why the INS is picking on Gyant and his wife.

Remember that rumor that had NBA star Dwyane Wade romantically linked with Star Jones? That was one of the those dumb rumors that makes most people roll their eyes and keep it moving. But some people will believe anything. So Wade felt the need to clear up the rumor:

“Star is an unbelievable woman. We have a great, great relationship. As friends. We are friends. That’s all… We’re friends, just like a lot of celebrities. We are friends.”

Okay, Dwyane, we believe you dawg. By the way, Wade is still married to his wife with whom he has two sons. (Source)

Fan Mail: Haters express their love for Sandra Rose

Yesterday was a field day in my email Inbox. So many haters reached out to me in response to my open registration restrictions. Don’t blame me if you guys can’t read and comprehend English. I specifically wrote that the registration was open to my office workers only.

Despite the fact that I listed all the banned email addresses, people still signed up using those accounts. Some folks tried to be slick signing up with temporary email boxes designed to look like job emails then getting mad when I blocked ’em. Some of the hate mail had me laughing out loud yesterday.

When I open registration just for haters I’ll be sure to let you know. 🙂

The reports that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are engaged have gotten even more ridiculous: now they are allegedly married. I recall Nick Cannon doing this once before and the next day his “rep” said the report was bogus. I’m still not a believer.

According to a wild story on Latina.com, Mariah Carey isn’t just engaged to rumored boyfriend, actor Nick Cannon, the pair have actually done the deed and gotten married! Anonymous sources are quoted as saying the singer and her 27-year-old funnyman were united in holy matrimony yesterday at an undisclosed island location. Per the source, only a few family and friends — including rapper Da Brat — were in attendance.
