“American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn is charged with fatally shooting his wife in their Ohio home.

Ashley Flynn, 37, a volleyball coach and substitute teacher, was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday, Feb. 16.

Police arrested Flynn on Thursday, Feb. 19, and charged him with murder, two counts of felonious assault and 2 counts of tampering with evidence. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

TMZ obtained 911 audio of Flynn’s frantic call in the early morning hours on Monday. “Somebody broke in my home and shot my wife! There’s blood everywhere! Sir, please send somebody!”

Flynn, 39, said his wife was shot 2 times in the head and the home invader who shot her was gone. He said their daughters slept through the shooting.

The dispatcher initially confused Flynn for a woman, saying, “Ma’am, I need you to take a deep breath okay?”

Flynn pleaded not guilty on Friday morning during a video-arraignment from Miami County, Ohio Jail.

“I just want to take care of my daughters. I’m not a risk,” he told Judge Samuel Huffman. The judge set his bond at $2 million. He is currently still in jail.

His attorney accused police of rushing their investigation.

“It’s disturbing the speed at which this occurred,” said defense attorney L. Patrick Mulligan. “I question the thoroughness” of the investigation.

Mulligan also complained that the bond was “unnecessarily high” for a domestic violence murder case.

The Tipp City police chief assured there would be “the most thorough investigation possible.”

The police department received assistance from the FBI, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Miami County Sheriff’s Office and Miami County Prosecutor’s Office, according to Dayton Daily News.

Flynn was a contestant on Season 12 of American Idol. He impressed judges with his performance of “Lean On Me.”

NBA star LaMelo Ball stormed out of a post-game press conference after his Charlotte Hornets lost 101-105 to the Houston Rockets on Thursday.

He played poorly during the game, scoring only 11 points in 31 minutes.

LaMelo, 24, was involved in a car crash that injured a woman in Charlotte on Wednesday. He was unharmed, but the other driver suffered minor injuries.

TMZ obtained footage that shows LaMelo getting into a black Lamborghini after police ticketed him.

In the post-game conference, LaMelo expressed gratitude to God.

“I’m alive and blessed,” he said. “God is great.”

LaMelo was asked about the other driver’s injuries after his 2022 Hummer EV Edition collided with her Kia sedan at an intersection.

“I seen her get straight out the car,” he said, implying that the woman was not injured.

When asked how the last 24 hours have been for him emotionally ahead of the Rockets game, LaMelo said, “Um… blessed. God is great like I said.”

Before another reporter could ask a question, LaMelo abruptly got up and stormed out of the room.

Much discussion was made about his attire on social media. LaMelo was shirtless with a towel around his neck. His upper torso is covered in tattoos. He wore red shorts revealing his white underwear.

Hornets head coach Charles Lee addressed the buzz surrounding LaMelo’s car crash before the game on Thursday.

“The first thing when you hear about any type of accident is you hope all parties involved are okay, they’re healthy and safe. So, he was able to come in today feeling good, ready to go, and he’ll be ready to play tonight,” Lee said.

Television mogul 50 Cent leaked surveillance video that shows rapper Jim Jones (left) allegedly breaking into an apartment after he was evicted.

50 Cent captioned the Instagram video:

“Damn bro this wouldn’t happen if we was friends, wanna be friends? I don’t know let’s rap about it ! LOL @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi. Delicious.”

The video, dated Thursday, February 19, shows the 49-year-old rapper kicking doors inside an apartment building at 780 East 133rd Street in the Bronx, NY.

The aging rapper, real name Joseph Jones, is heard telling a friend, “He cut the lights off,” referring to the landlord.

Jones repeatedly kicked an apartment door until he was out of breath. But the door didn’t budge.

The commotion brought another tenant into the hallway. She asked Jones if he was okay.

He responded, “What’s up? What happened? Yeah, I’m good.”

“It’s mine, it’s my apartment,” Jones told the resident while walking toward her. “You got a problem?”

Jones then kicked in another door. A man who is with him entered the apartment and walked back out, as Jones walked back down the hallway.

50 Cent also leaked an eviction notice that shows Jones is in default of his lease agreement signed on December 17, 2025. He was served with a 15-day notice of default which expired on February 17.

The notice shows the landlord took possession of the apartment and changed the locks on the doors.

Jones was forbidding from entering the apartment to retrieve his belongings without the landlord’s permission.

The landlord, Raber Enterprises LLC, agreed to coordinate with Jones to collect his belongings and furniture.

Jones has had financial difficulties over the years due to declining music sales and bad investments. The home he once shared with longtime partner Chrissy Lampkin in New Jersey was foreclosed on and sold back to the bank for $100 in 2019.

Jones and Chrissy Lampkin, 54, reportedly split in 2024 after dating for over 20 years. But other reports say they got back together.

Jones is best known as a founding member of the Harlem-based hip-hop collective The Diplomats. His biggest hit, “Ballin”, is a rap song about spending out of control.

The statement continued: “He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”

The actor announced his diagnosis in April 2025.

ALS is a progressive nervous system disorder that affects neuron cells in the brain and spinal cord. The disease causes loss of muscle control, breathing difficulties and paralysis that get progressively worse over time.

About 10% of men are affected before age 45. Most cases are diagnosed between ages 40 and 70.

About 1 in 300 Americans are affected by ALS, according to the Mayo Clinic.

In early 2024, Dane experienced his first symptom of ALS. He described his symptom in an interview with Diane Sawyer on “Good Morning America.”

“I started experiencing some weakness in my right hand, and I didn’t really think anything of it at the time,” the actor told Sawyer.

“I thought maybe I had been texting too much or my hand was fatigued. But a few weeks later, I noticed it had gotten a little worse.”

Dane said he was evaluated by hand specialists, then two neurologists. And after nine months of doctors’ appointments, he finally received his “sobering” diagnosis.

Two months before he died, Dane announced he had written his memoir, that focused on his life before and after his ALS diagnosis.

The memoir, titled “Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,” urges readers to cherish the moments and the people that count in their lives.

“If sharing this helps someone find meaning in their own days, then my story is worth telling,” Dane said in a statement.

R&B singer Ray J issued a plea to a fan who snatched his cardiac monitor from his bare chest and ran off with it during his Valentine’s Day concert in Louisiana.

On Thursday, Ray J pleaded with the fan to return the device.

The incident happened during his concert at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on February 14.

Cell phone video shows the “One Wish” singer wearing a small cardiac monitor patch on his chest with a transparent medical dressing over it.

Ray J claims the device has important data on it that his doctor needs. He even offered money for the return of the device.

The tiny device monitors the heart for irregular heartbeats and rapid or slow heartbeats. It is not a defibrillator. His doctor can log into an online portal to see the data.

Ray J, 45, told TMZ he wore the patch for 2 weeks.

On Wednesday, a news station in Shreveport obtained video that shows Ray J applying fake blood to his face during his Valentine’s Day concert.

A videographer captured video of the singer/actor applying a red substance on his face backstage.

“He loves the camera. He loves the attention. Anybody that knows him, it’s all theatrical,” photographer Tommy Nard II told PEOPLE.

“I seen him literally put on the fake blood and things like that, and go out there with the crowd, which is very shocking that he’d do something like that.”

Ray J’s manager, Melinda Santiago, issued a statement to PEOPLE alleging that the photographer was clout chasing.

“The bottom line is Ray J has been in and out of the hospital dealing with health and heart issues. That is a fact. Another fact is that the meds that Ray is on have some side effects,” she wrote in the statement on Wednesday.

“It’s absurd that a local videographer (not our team) would want to clout chase for five minutes of fame off of Ray J name and play about Ray being sick is sick in itself. My job is to protect my artists backstage from opportunistic people. If we can’t do that, then I’ll be cutting off all backstage access moving forward.”

In January, Ray J was rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas and treated for “severe pneumonia and heart pain,” TMZ reported.

Jacksonville rapper Lil Poppa, real name Janarious Wheeler, was found shot to death in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday. He was 25.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

In a video recorded several weeks ago, Lil Poppa told his fans he talked to God about his conflicting feelings.

“Woke up, read me a Bible verse, got some breakfast in my system. Talked to God about it… and He laid it on me,” the aspiring rapper said.

Lil Poppa said he had one more project to release before breaking his earthly bond.

“I got one more and it’s over. I’m going to find my peace.”

He released his final single, “Out of Town Bae,” last Friday.

The aspiring rapper began making music at just 7 years old. He started writing religious rap lyrics for his local church before pivoting to street rap.

His first local hit was 2018’s “Purple Hearts,” a track about surviving a shooting in his hometown of Jacksonville.

After signing to rapper Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group record label, he released his debut album, Blessed, I Guess.

His last album, Almost Normal Again, was released in August 2025.

Lil Poppa’s death sent shockwaves through the rap community.

On Wednesday, rappers Meek Mill, Boosie BadAzz, Dej Loaf, Nardo Wick, Lil Duval, and more shared tributes to Lil Poppa on social media.

“[All] them talks same dream same problems I understand… bro you ah LEGEND I hope you understood that,” fellow Florida rapper Yungeen Ace wrote on Instagram. “The city love you @lilpoppa glad we gotta chance to patch things up and be close.”

Chicago drill rapper EBK Juvie asked why God didn’t take fellow Chicago rapper G Herbo instead of Lil Poppa.

NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick opened up about his 6-year-old son’s viral incident with NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan at the Daytona 500.

Jordan faced public backlash after viral video showed him touching Beau Reddick inappropriately at the Daytona 500 on Sunday in Daytona Beach, Florida.

With all the controversy surrounding the Epstein files, the video is not a good look for the NBA legend (Jordan is not named in the files).

The video is so disturbing that many viewers initially believed it was AI-generated.

But Tyler Reddick dismissed the controversy surrounding his eldest child.

In a podcast interview on Wednesday, Tyler suggested the incident was a nothing burger.

“From my perspective, I’ve gotten to know Michael and his family very well over the years I’ve been here with twenty-three eleven,” Tyler said. “I don’t see what other people see when it comes to this.”

Tyler added that his Daytona 500 win was “a huge moment. The biggest moment of my career.”

Jordan, who celebrated his 63rd birthday on Tuesday, formed 23XI Racing in 2021 with 3x Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin (2016, 2019, and 2020).

Sunday’s win was Jordan’s first major victory as a NASCAR team co-owner. It came just over 2 months after 23XI Racing settled a lawsuit with NASCAR.

Fantasia Barrino‘s father, Joseph Barrino went off on his son-in-law, Kendall Taylor (right), accusing him of staging a re-proposal to Fantasia during a recent concert.

Kendall, wearing a white suit, walked out on stage with a bouquet of roses and asked his wife to marry him again.

Fantasia and Kendall were married in 2015 and share daughter Keziah, 4. The “I Feel Beautiful” singer also has two children, Zion and Dallas, from previous relationships.

Fantasia said Kendall was the first man to tell her she’s beautiful.

But Joseph called Kendall’s re-proposal a “publicity stunt” and he said Kendall is manipulating Fantasia to hide alleged stolen funds.

In a recent livestream video, Joseph said, “I love my daughter, she’s my daughter and I want all her fans to keep her in prayer.”

He added: “That walking out [on stage to re-propose to Fantasia], that’s a publicity stunt… I want y’all to love her and pray for her. The work that I put in with my kids at a young age, I dare not let somebody that I know manipulates.”

Joseph said he was told by Fantasia’s former “financial person” that they ran up on Kendall because some money went missing. Joseph said there was no paper trail on Kendall’s part to show where the money went.

Joseph accused Kendall of firing the financial person. “He got her fired.”

Kendall responded to the theft allegations in a video on Wednesday, saying he ran his own “multi-million dollar company” before he met Fantasia. He denied stealing Fantasia’s money to finance his business operations.

“I asked for the prenup,” he said in the video. “A prenup wasn’t put on me, I asked for it because I had business partners that I needed to protect and I needed to make sure that her family knew that I had no intentions of coming after anything that she established before she met me.”

President Trump hosted a Black History month reception at the White House on Wednesday. Trump highlighted top Black administration officials, and he rejected accusations of racism after a staffer posted a controversial video on his Truth Social app.

The president is pictured above with White House Pardon Czar, Alice Marie Johnson, whose federal life sentence was commuted by Trump in 2018.

He was greeted with applause and cheers from the crowd that included Black community leaders and lawmakers gathered in the East Room of the White House.

During the reception, Trump embraced an emotional Forlesia Cook, a Washington D.C. grandmother who lost her grandson to violence.

Cook praised Trump and she dismissed allegations that he is racist.

“I love [Trump]. I don’t want to hear nothing you’ve got to say about that racist stuff. And don’t be looking at me on the news hating on me because I’m standing up for somebody that deserves to be stand up for,” she said as the crowd cheered.

“Get off the man’s back. Let him do his job. He’s doing the right thing. Back up off of him! And grandma said it!”

The reception came nearly two weeks after a video clip posted on Trump’s app sparked furious backlash online.

The video clip showed an AI-generated image of former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes.

Senator Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina, called the video “The most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.”

However, the White House shrugged off the video as an “Internet meme,” and criticized the “fake outrage”.

Trump said he didn’t see the video clip depicting the Obamas as apes. He said a staffer who posted it didn’t watch the video all the way to the end.
