Achieving EGOT status means she has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award in her stellar career. Hudson is the 17th person and the second Black woman to win all four major awards.

Whoopi Goldberg was the first Black woman to win all 4 major awards in 2002. It took 20 years for another Black woman to reach that milestone.

Other EGOT winners include Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, John Legend and Alan Menken. Honorary EGOT winners are James Earl Jones, Harry Belafonte and Quincy Jones.

Rapper/actor Common is just one win away from earning EGOT status.

Hudson is also the third youngest EGOT winner, behind Robert Lopez and Legend, according to Billboard.

Hudson credited her dogs with helping her win. "I got a dog and named it Oscar, and then I won my Oscar," she told PEOPLE. "And then I got a dog and named it Grammy, and then I won my Grammy."

The 75th annual Tony Awards aired on Sunday night on CBS, and honored the top performances in theater. Academy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Ariana DeBose hosted the ceremony.

WWE wrestler David Otunga is auctioning off an engagement ring which was designed for his then-fiancee, actress/signer Jennifer Hudson.

The 5-carat rock was designed by Neil Lane back in 2008 for $45,000, TMZ reports.

Jennifer gave back the ring when they broke up in 2017. It is tradition in America to return an engagement ring if the wedding falls through - so the partner who purchased the ring can get a refund.

According to TMZ, David has teamed with IDoNowIDont.com to auction off the ring to the highest bidder. David plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to a fathers' rights org.

"The Wendy Williams Show," was replaced by Sherri Shepherd's new talk show, Sherri.

The Nick Cannon Show's launch was delayed for one year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Nick has multiple mouths to feed, including his six children and their mothers. A seventh child, Zen, born to model Alyssa Scott, passed away from brain cancer in December.

Aretha Franklin's family has made it clear they did not want a new biopic about the beloved Queen of Soul to see the light of day.

The family did not support the much-hyped Genius: Aretha series, which debuted on National Geographic on Sunday evening, March 21.

Cynthia Erivo, pictured with Aretha in 2015, earned critical praise for her role as the Queen of Soul in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks' new eight-part project, but Aretha's granddaughter said it's full of fiction.

"This movie has to go," she said in a new TikTok video. "As the immediate family, we feel that it's important to be involved with any biopic of my grandma's life, as it's hard to get any accurate depiction of anyone's life without speaking to the ones closest to them."

She said the family has "been disrespected and told we will not be worked with. As the immediate family - emphasis on immediate - we do not support this film and we ask that you also do not support this film, as we feel extremely disrespected, and we feel there will be many inaccuracies about my grandmother's life."

Her father and Aretha's son, Kecalf Franklin, supported his daughter, telling Rolling Stone, "What we've found out in the past is that usually when people don't want to work with you, that is a prelude to some type of unprofessional behavior or a prelude to some type of untruth or slander... That's usually the case when people say that they don't want to work with you."

Genius: Aretha chronicles the soul legend's rise to the top from her roots as a teenage single teenage mom in Alabama.

National Geographic bosses acknowledged they made no contact with Franklin's family while making the series, but they still insist the biopic was thoroughly researched.

The Franklin family is working with the producers of Respect, the new Aretha Franklin biopic starring Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, which is slated to hit theaters this summer.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences declined to nominate Taylor's song "Beautiful Ghosts", which she co-wrote with Oscar-winner Andrew Lloyd Webber. Adding insult to injury, Beyonce's lackluster song "Spirit" from the Lion King soundtrack was nominated for an Oscar, as was Pharrell Williams' track "Never Too Late".
