Gabrielle Union Sues

Actress Gabrielle Union, who visits Atlanta very often for personal reasons that I won’t reveal since she’s in a litigation mood, has filed a lawsuit against two Atlanta men who took out a Craiglist ad using her name without her permission.
- Union’s invasion of privacy suit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, alleges that Steve Raymond, who purportedly lives in Morrow, and Calvin High, who purportedly resides in Morrow or Forest Park, fraudulently advertised a job opening for an assistant for a Hollywood actress. When potential applicants called, Union’s Atlanta attorney Tony Mulrain claims, the actress’ name was mentioned.
According to the suit, Union does not know the defendants and at no time either advertised or authorized a job opening listing.
“What scares me the most is that people associate my name with safety for women, and there’s a trust in that,” said Union, who starred in “Bad Boys 2″ and “Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls.” “What happens when these people who show up who knows where to interview for a job that doesn’t exist?”
The suit seeks punitive damages in excess of $100,000. (Source)

Too bad she can’t just press charges. I’m sure the dudes who posted the ad don’t have enough money to even pay her legal fees for filing this suit.

I’m a little concerned about those guys using her name to attract females. This is a Law & Order episode in the making.
i swear craigs list is off the chain! a couple of weeks ago someone posted a fake post that claimed they were moving AND donating everything…can you imagine the look on the “real” owner’s face when he arrived to his house and people were leaving and sorting through his stuff?
you can also post discrimating ads on there…wtf is this world coming to! the judge ruled in favor of craigs list although people were posting stuff like “no muslims”, “no gays”, etc…
Wow I agree that could be a setup for woman or men to go to some bs interview & get robbed or raped & using her name on top of that, they might as well lock there dumbass up cause I don’t see them having money to pay that off!!
Go on Gabby…protect your name and reputation. Cuz lord knows if something happened to an applicant who applied for this bogus job, they’d sue Gabby and try to hold her liable for these shady dudes’ actions.
I don’t understand how anyone in their right mind could not side with her right now. Whether you like her or not. Luring unsuspecting people under her name is…Wow. Now if 1 of those prospective applicants would have showed up and got mugged or raped or what have you they’d be trying to sue gabby. Whether the perpetrators have money or not a 100 thou judgement against them would lay very heavy on their credit. Harming them in any real business ventures they may pursue in the future, harm them when trying to purchase a house, a car,,,,whatever. It would be a constant reminder of how stupid and completely in the wrong they were for this.
