American men are booking trips to Jamaica to be bathed and pampered by “raft women.” The trend began earlier this year when a viral video showed a man laying on his back on a bamboo raft while a raft guide poured healing oil all over him.

“That’s what everybody does when they come to Jamaica,” one woman said. She is referring to Jamaica’s river rafting tours that are all the rage right now. The first rafting tourists were American women who lusted after male raft guides. They told their friends, and soon American women were flocking to Jamaica for their own dream vacations. videos showed women relaxing while hunky Jamaican men rubbed cream all over their bodies.

On March 31, 2022, a woman on TikTok issued a warning to other women about male raft workers who are too hands on in their approach to female tourists. The woman said one of the men had inappropriately touched her. Jamaican officials investigated the complaint. But nothing ever came of it.

In a follow-up video, the woman named the men and the hotels they worked for. She warned women to stay clear of those hotels and the male raft guides. Her warning had the effect of killing the rafting industry. Female tourists canceled their trips to Jamaica.
