LaLa: ‘I fully support my fiance’

LaLa Vasquez, former MTV veejay and current baby mama of NBA star Carmelo Anthony, reached out to People magazine to set the record straight on Internet rumors that she refused to pick her man up after he was busted for drunk driving.

“I want to make sure the public understands that I fully support my fiancé, Carmelo Anthony, and stand by him through this ordeal,” Vazquez said in a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday. “I will always have his back and never refused to pick him up from the police station. In fact, they offered to bring him to me.”

Then a sober Melo said: “LaLa continues to be a rock in my life, she’s always been there for me through thick and thin.”

For those of who who are reading this on Wednesday, the statement was posted on People.com last night around 8 PM. That was quick wasn’t it? :) I mean ole girl didn’t waste any time disputing the rumors before they got out of hand, lol.

Unfortunately for LaLa (and Melo), the word is already out. I guess the Denver police were lying too?

But wait, isn’t People magazine the same media outlet that twisted the truth just last week about another urban celebrity? Hmmm…
