Celeb Style: Fashion Flop’s From Last Night

When did female celebrities stop learning how to dress? It seems that in the past 10 years or so, celebrities began relying more heavily on stylists who wouldn’t wear the same styles they pick out for their clients if their lives depended on it!
Last night was the “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, NY. Some ladies took the “fantasy” part a little bit too far. Like Mary J. Blige, who usually can do no wrong in the fashion department. But that black frock she wore was not the biz. The only thing missing from it was the curtain rod! I have three words for Mary: full length mirror (USE IT!)
While their women looked like dime store rejects, the men were all handsome and debonair as they always are because no man needs a so-called “stylist” to tell him what to wear.
Lastly, I wish I could include Beyoncé in this category, but her dress was so beautiful and she looked so glamorous that I just have to give her her props. That dress was gorgeous!
When your curves go from smooth to lumpy that’s when it’s time to wear something that conceals your imperfections.
This dress looks like something a fisherman caught on his hook and forgot to throw back. I can’t find anything nice to say about this ugly dress.
Kimora should have known better than to wear this loud thing to a costume ball. Maybe Kimora doesn’t know what the proper attire for a costume ball is. The dress code is elegant, Kimora, not clownish! You never make a spectacle of yourself - and embarrass your man - at a black tie affair.

I thought everyone looked nice. However I am not a fan of tatts on a womans arm. (Mary you lose a point for that) but all in all, everyone looked nice.
Why didn’t you put Beyonce’s pic up Sandra. You gave her her props, or were you just being feticious. LOL
Kimora’s dress looks like an art project I did in elementary school with grease crayons. Darn I could be paid now if I turned it into a dress lol!
I agree Sandra the dresses are horrible. Ms. Fashion statement Kimora should of known not to put on that rainbow bright dress I am very disappointed in her.

I liked Kimora’s dress, but then again I’m a Kimora stan & she can do no wrong in my eyes. Janet also looks good. Men have it easy… They dont need stylist to tell them to get a tux. Is that Jennifer Lopez? That ish is gross & I dont know what Mary was thinkin wearin that heavy ass dress. Ppl are forgetting that simplicity is sexy… Wait, did i take a stab at Kimora? Firstly, I love MS. “Fabulosity-Kimora Lee Simmons/soon-hopefully to be Honsou.” However, I feel like I am been hyponitzed or she is chanelling the rainbow, a stained church glass, or a Tiffany Lamp- or feeling very Afrocentric as if she is also from Benin,in that horrid, ghastly & haggardly looking dress. Is this look supposed to represent a avant-garde, or haute coutre look? If so, frankly, it’s way out there and missed that mark. More like Kriss Kross & Cross Colours meets a night out at the MET! and although their song was entitled ” JUMP”…..that dress make me wanna jump jump right out of Kimora’s way.”-
Mary, Mary, Mary- the tatoo has got to go- it’s like pseudo- elegant meets bad girl…..see women this is what happens when you get tatoos all over your body- text book cases in point, MARY, AMYWINEHOUSE- et.al. And that drapery she is wearing tsk!tsk! I will just leave it at that.
J-Lo. Another episode of the Mermaid or Ariel goes to the MET and to think the dress is in Aqua, or eggshell,or whatever color. Colors these days I cant keep up. All I can remember is the primary and secondary colors- once you start giving them emotions [colors etc] I tend to forget unless its a prerequsite.
Jermaine & Janet look awesome, simple, elegant yet classy- and thats just my opion.
However, I am assuming they all enjoyed themselves and I guess that what matters most.STYLE IS THE PERFECTION OF A POINT OF VIEW…”

Janet looked very elegant, and so did Mary….I hate to play that card, but if Cameron D had on Janet’s dress, and Angelina had on Mary’s dress, nobody would have said nothing bad…..on the other hand, I agree w/MochaMommy on Mary’s dress looking heavy…..eliminate that top layer, and she got herself a winner….

I think everyone looke nice, except for that dress Kimora was wearing! Also, I didn’t see anything lumpy on Janet, but there are a few wrinkles in her dress!
I’m loving the dresses (except Kimora) and Mary need a new doo and she would have been flawless!

Is Ebony Fashion Fair responsible? They always had some outlandish mess that the average and above average black woman wouldn’t wear. This is what happens when regular folks start fashion lines—they think it’s hot and it is….hot couture garbage.

Honey I’m with you on this one Kimora might have gotten her lines crossed and thought she was there to represent “mother africa” with that frock on but boo i’m hear to tell you the truth that ain’t it.” She definitely isn’t “fabulous” in that creation isn’t she suppose to be a fashion mogul she should know better than that.Dijmon was better standing there on his own with his fine self.

Men use stylists too believe it or not!! I saw Beyonce’s dress and it was not all that. It was a boring color and the typical strapless, mermaid style dress that she ALWAYS wears! I actually like Kimora’s dress…it’s different & the bold color and print are so IN right now!!! I’m in Arkansas and I knew that.
Mary has never had a sense of style…evah..neveh, come on now Sandra. She is a prime example of having the money and access and none of the taste. Her hair choices would be the first thing to point out, tho I love her music, she has been giving Diddy’s moms a run for her money in the wig/weave department ! Then once she got superwoman fit, she lost her mind. As for JJ, she usually wears some sorta costume and not an outfit, here she looks almost not quite right. Like she had planned to put a gold shield up around her neck and it didn’t fit, she never does simple ever so I am not mad at this dress. Her makeup however is too too much for evening out, she does not know the difference between stage makeup and evening out at all.
Kimora who I usually take no notice of at all looks perfect for the event, superheroish and all, chick is not gonna age well. As for Jennifer, we should all hope to look that good after dropping twins…the color is lovely and the surprise is the dress is not tight, you know she loves a tight dress.

Mary’s dress is nice it just looks more suited for a winter gala. I like Kimora’s dress - I’m partial to brights, but if i could afford it, i doubt if I’d buy it. What you need to address is why Djimon is looking so old. Aoki and Ming must be givin him the flux!
