Rev. Run and his wife Justine’s adopted baby Miley Simmons is introduced in the Season 5 premiere of the highly rated Run’s House on MTV last night.
In Season 5, Rev. Run signs a deal with a European production company to record a rap album. He also goes on tour with rapper-turned-rocker Kid Rock.
While on a business trip to NYC, Vanessa lounges in her parents’ guest room and checks out “celebrity gossip” on sandrarose.com. Note the Louis Vuitton on the nightstand?
Rev. Run sends Jo Jo to L.A. to help his sisters set up a video conference with Solomon Dabah, dir. of marketing for Vida Shoes which manufactures the wildly successful Pastry shoe line.
Sol is also hooking the girls up with a new clothing line. So be on the lookout for the launch of the line.
Rev. Run has a talk with Russy (Russell Simmons II) about being too hands on with his baby sister Miley…
…which causes Justine to feel she’s a bad mother to the baby. Russy apologizes to Justine and promises to tone it down a little.
Entrepreneurs Angela and Vanessa Simmons are now living in a posh apartment in L.A.
Season 5 follows the sisters on a whirlwind tour across the country to promote their Pastry shoe line which has grossed over $50 million in sales.
Vanessa, who moved out to the west coast to pursue a career as an actress, thinks her sister is too dependent on her and needs to get a life. The sisters fake a fight which exposes the major flaw in the show: its scripted dialog. The “fight” was more distracting than dramatic.

this is the only reality show that is actually reality that i love to watch. i have been watching it all weekend. i love the baby she is a cutie…russy is my favorite of all.
but, i agree with pagesindadiary: pointing out a bag is not that serious….every woman has a designer bag in their closes…again, it’s really not that serious!

I love this show/family. Something we can watch with our 2 1/2 year old when time permits. She loves Russy (little boy is what she calls him) and now has fallen in love with the baby….

^^^^justin is only russy & diggy’s and now miley’s mom. however, i think she’s been in angela, vanessa and jo-jo’s lives since they were small. they had an episode where they showed their birth mother who is now married with another daughter who is only like 5 or 6 (don’t quote me if the age is right)…but, to me they have an extrodinary family..^^^^

Their mom lives in the city. The oldest 3 are from Run’s first marriage. An episode during the 1st or 2nd season showed the kids going to visit her.

Actually Miley had on an entire Burberry outfit. It was not just a bib. It was a shirt and jeans that matched.
Justed wanted to add that I love the show. The family dynamic they share is something we could benefit from in the black community.

I love how each of the older kids are trying to make names for themselves outside of being just Run’s kids. It’s a good look. The Simmons girls are grinding and making their own money (even though I’m too old to be buying their sneakers) I am still very proud of them.
I also really respect Justine and the love that she shows the 3 oldest kids, you would never know that they’re not her kids, she’s never treated them as if they’re her step kids. She loves them and is there for them the same way she is for her younger ones.
maybe it’s just me.i gotta ask…………are these ppl real,are they really goofy all day everyday? to make matter worse they have those teeth that makes seem more goofy. mostly that dried-up lips jo-jo.
# 26…..I am standing up in FULL AGREEMENT. I love the enire family dynamics of this show. I love the obvious values that Rev and Justine have instilled in these kids. There is a humbleness about all these kids that just touches me when I watch their show.
I believe we will continue to see these kids as well as Russel’s girls do their own thing in the business world.
We are witnessing first hand the seeds of generational wealth and economic responsibility being sowed. I commend the entire family including Russell and Kimora.

For the first time ever I watched a Reality Show and actually had tears in my eyes. The episode where Justine lost the baby was soooooooo sad!
Now they’re blessed with this precious baby girl, I love it!
I love that they keep their Sunday’s private… They dont parade around the church they go to on Television …and only show the interesting Sunday mornings trying to get the kids ready every once in awhile. They generally keep that one day to themselves. I respect their whole family dynamic.

@ brwnsugga4you - thanks for the info. I watched the season when the girls moved out. I admire the family dynamic … its a beautiful thing, especially since in our community we don’t see this type of family all the time. When I say type I mean 2 parent home ….
Sandra, I don’t think the show is scripted, which would explain why during their argument you couldn’t hear what they were saying. Or in your words “The “fight” was more distracting than dramatic.” That would make perfect sense to prove why it’s not scripted.
P.S. Angela, Vanessa, and Jo Jo’s birth mother lives in the city. They have visited her before in previous episodes.
I love Run house…I can say that it is the best family sitcom ever. I love their family and how Rev Run teaches the kid’s value. They have a beautiful family.

After that recap all I can say is watch the show so you can find out what really happened on the show.
I was a little disappointed to see how lightly the girls view their business. I hope that was just done for TV.

Justine didn’t raise his kids with his first wife. By the time the show came on they were practically grown. No doubt they spent more time with their mom growing up. You see who Jo Jo felt comfortable breaking down to about Angela and Vanessa moving to LA; Mommy. It’s pretty clear they are close to their mom.

Rarely seen the show but the few times I have I noticed that Vanessa is So Fake… At least she picked the right profession to pursue ACTING (With her fake azz)
Vanessa didn’t say “Sandra Rose”, in fact she didn’t name which website that she was on. When Justine asked her what she was was doing she said “Reading Celebrity Gossip”, it could have been one of many websites or blogs.
I love this show, but Vanessa is a big phony bologna. When she tried out for that soap opera, I was like “this girl cannot act, she need to stick to the shoe line”. I still like her, but someone please tell her to stop acting. And………..something aint right about JoJo. Either he is gay or slow in the mind. He dont even look right rapping. Talking about passing the torch from Run DMC, he aint nothing like Run DMC.
Now that I think of it, Angela acts a little slow too. And so does Russy. But I still love this family

Yesh I picked up on the ‘acting’ too and changed the channel. i’ve NEVER switched the channel on them until this episode. I even watch the repeats thru and thru. I didn’t wanna believe the girls were that corny, then I appreciated the ‘realness.’ All that acting the other night (especially going into the store)….good times re-runs never looked so good.
