Itsthereal.com takes another swipe at Hip-Hop under the guise of satire and parody. I used to be wary of their video parodies, but not anymore. Rappers did this to themselves by turning a wildly successful music genre into a circus sideshow.

Now Rick Ross is the head clown (that used to be Ja Rule’s position). Clown on rappers. Soon you’ll be back on the corners slinging rocks for real when the record labels wise up and cut the purse strings.

What bothers me is that we have become so conditioned that a rapper must come from a background of crime and other illegal activity in order for them to be credible. Why anyone would feel the need to lie about a past of working an honest 9 to 5 escapes me. It is time for us to be better role models to our children and each other.

Its funny that we want our brothers to do the right thing, have a job on the up and up, and this is what happens. I agree he shouldn’t have lied. However, you can’t scream for guys to do the right thing, and then, put them down wen they do.

I dont think labels will pull funds. The fakeness earns them money, that is all its about, If that was the case majority of these wack ass hip-hop people now wouldnt even exist. They are so not in the league of the GREAT MCS like

umm… Starr… no one’s knocking Rick Ross for actually having had a legit job. he’s getting knocked because he LIED about having a job when he was put on blast. he made it seem as though it was better to be thought of as a criminal rather than as alaw-abiding citizen. HE did this to himself and THAT’S why he’s being clowned. his whole rap persona is that of a “gangster”. somehow he thought being a thug/criminal/low-life/gutter rat was better than being an upstanding citizen with a career in law-enforcement. so the clowning he is getting was brought on by himself. had he not played himself, he might have gotten some respect.

i for one am damn tired of hearing these rappers glorifying this gangster life-style as though we’re supposed to be enamored by the fact that instead of going to school and getting a dman education and a real job, they chose to committ ILLEGAL acts and end up serving time as a caged animal in the “system”. it’s PATHETIC and needs to stop already.
