New Music: T.I. ft. Kanye West, Jay Z and Lil’ Wayne

Rapper T.I. hits us off with another track from his upcoming CD “Paper Trail” titled “Swagger Like Us” featuring a lackluster Kanye West, Jay Z and Lil’ Wayne. This track is the epitome of how far Hip Hop has fallen. A track like this should be fire, but instead it sounds like album filler – leaving so much to be desired. The hottest part of this song is the M.I.A. sample. And once again Lil’ Wayne ruins a track with his brain dead droning.

Is it just me or has Knaye’s production skills fallen way off lately?

I haven’t heard the song yet, but I would like to go out on a limb and say that Sandra is probably way off in her assessment, as usual. HOW can a track with TI, Jay, Wayne, and Kanye be wack?

sandra u r crazy…that beat is RIDICULOUS!!! i need to know why tip felt the need to put them on this track…i think all of them got swagger, however w/ the exception of tip, they all fell flat…ain’t jay, ye, and wayne supposed to be considered “elite” rappers? i’m not the biggest jeezy fan, but damn i think even he would’ve killed it…

the sample is hot. TI and Kanye deliver, Lil Wayne is alright- same ish as usual, but Jay-z falls real short!!!!! His flow just isn’t what it used to be. Can’t wait to see if Jeezy will jump on and murder the track

I love Jay and Kanye foreva, but this song is just OKAY to me…hope it’s not on Blueprint III. Tip and Wayne can kick rocks…I hope Tip still sells some records when it’s finally released…while they’re leaking a new track daym near every week, ‘specially here in the A. And I’m sooo daym tired of this autotune shyt from Wayne…why you gotta autotune incoherant SCREWED UP dronin and muttering? Annoying. Although I do like the new T-Pain, go figure.

And I’ve heard a lot of the T-Pain “leaked” tracks…so he was a “Rappa Ternt Sanga” and now he’s back to rapping? Nope…doesn’t work for me. Sure, everyone is on the whole autotune kick (which I don’t think will last past ’08 – remember the Das Efx “diggity diggity” – that was short-lived), Pain does it the best…it’s his lane….

I don’t get why Kanye and Wayne are using the T-Pain machine (that’s what I call it) and the others aren’t. It doesn’t make sense. Kanye’s verse was weak, but the others were ok for me. The hook is hella annoying though.

Well considering the fact T-pain bit Roger Troutman’s style by using a Vocoder he isn’t original. I see Kanye and Wayne are starting to use it in every song they make now. The intro into the song is so long I thought it was instrumental at first. I agree that the track should have been Jeezy, T.I. and Jay Z.
