One of my loyal readers, Tay, did some private investigative work and came up with this pic of who she thinks is T.I.’s baby mama, LaShon Dixon - the one who took T.I. to court yesterday to raise her child support payments from $2,000 a month to whatever she likes.
I’ve never seen T.I.’s baby mama myself, but this pic fits the general description that I’ve been given of her. And T.I.’s sons are the spittin’ image of her.
I guess I could put in a call to verify….
Anyway, her Myspace page says she’s 29-years-old - as is LaShon - and she lives near Atlanta. Her Myspace page is private so I won’t post it.
I’m sure T.I. will do the right thing by his baby mama. He’s an upstanding young man.

Just found out that T.I is tied with Lil Wayne for the 11th spot on the Forbes list for hip hop earners… at 13Mil last year.
I did some digging, and Illinois takes a percentage (20% is the minimum), according to the number of children you have….it’s 28% for two.
If they lived here, and he had that income, he’d be paying her a little over $200,000 a month in Child support…..
I wouldn’t be suprised if the judge don’t get on her for agreeing to such a low price.

Even with the percentage standard, things like supporting other kids, having a different household, having a loss of income of 20 percent or more will reduce the amount to be paid. Clifford has all these circumstances, so he’ probably wouldn’t/shouldn’t be paying the full (I think GA’s) 26 percent; but 2K isn’t enough for 2 children these days even if he were covering tuition and childcare costs outside of the payment.
Personally I’d like to believe that he as giving more than the 2k that was required and she’s just trying to get something legal to ensure that her kids are secure while he goes to the big house.

it seems to me that he spends a lot of time and does for those kids. sure, she may just be getting 2k per month, but he may do things for them to compensate what she doesn’t get, like paying for things out of pocket (camps, supplies, clothes trips, medical expenses, etc…). Who’s to say he doesn’t have a trust fund set aside for them on his own.
1st off she is a pretty lady…like I said before I hope if the judge orders T.I. to pay more guap for his kids he will do so willingly.

I always though that TI was doing the right thing by his kids cause you never heard anything about his baby mommas saying they wanted to put him on child support. Personally speaking from someone who has two kids and taking care of them by myself. 2,000 would be great for me a month. As long as he is doing for them outside of that I would have no problem. In the end you do what you have to do that is a woman motto. If he didn’t make the suggestion to give more then that is on him. It’s sad that you have to take’em to court to get more.

White men should not have to tell black men how much to provide for their children. Child support should be agreed among both parents. If she likes it then T.I. love it. I am sure that they could resolve this without going to court or just having a layer draw up paper. Child support in NYC is until the child turns 21.

medical coverage (if the child live out of state it is the fathers duty to make sure he has a coverage that can be used in another state, NYC judges don’t give a fvck)
school fees if the school is private
and some other ****. I don’t know about Atlanta but in New York child support can’t be done unless perternity is established in court if you want the court to decide. That is why it is good to negociate outside of the courts with money order and receipts!

Thats a really sweet idea but you must not have kids and if you do you must be married or something because the reality is parents who are living in seperate homes most times never agree on said amount of support which is why we have to turn to the courts (or what you are referring to as white men) I know its sad but true. If parents (both men and women) were handling business like they are supposed to there would be no need for such laws to exist.
@ peachizz my sister son father did. He live down south and felt that cause he is paying child support he should be able to claim my nephew. Mind you my nephew lives with my sister in NY. So when my sister stopped working and was getting the welly well they was garnishing his check and he still felt that he have the right to claim his son on his taxes.

Most of the time fathers that take care of their kids will wind up paying way more than their child support. I paid child support but I also paid for all of my sons clothes, paid for all of his dues and fees for sports that he wanted to play and basically anything that came to his wants and needs. My child support went strictly to the mom for bills.
She never asked for any more money because I took care of ALL his expenses. That is what child support about, taking care of your kids. Women have to do their part too

Child support goes towards raising a child, including shelter, food, water, security, healthcare, clothing, education, enrichment and much more. It doesn’t take some of the exorbitant amounts some men are forced to pony up, but come the hell on, $250 isn’t making a dent, and to be honest, neither is $1000.

Well Karaz since you want to break it down like that. How much is rent? YOu can get a decent house or apt for $1200 a month. If you wouldn’t have a kid how much rent would you pay? $800, so the difference is $400, how much is water $30 a month for 2 people, $20 for 1, health insurance is about $400 a month with without a job so most likely if you work you get a break, womens insurance is already high adding a kid is like an extra $100. Having a kid may add 1/4 to 1/3 extra to anybody’s living expense. And if you read my post, you would see that I said that the man takes care of the clothes, healthcare,etc. So basically the cash money is ONLY going towards the bills. so how much do you need?????

@karaz: i whipped his ever loving azz in may 1996. sperm donor aka baby daddy/aka ex husband (we were married for 5 months so i rarely even refer to him as that) was abusive. decided to steal me one day during an argument. there had always been pushes and shoves but THAT day he slugged me like i was a DUDE. i waited until he was sleep and pepper sprayed his azz and THEN i beat him with a baseball bat while he was coughing and trying to see. i caught charges b/c i was already on probabtion for driving without a license. i did 43 days in lockup. to this DAY i am STILL considered a domestic offender. i still gotta explain that shyt everytime it come up. i stopped being bitter in 1998 and realized a child became of the time between us and one of us had to be the grown up. i decided it shld be me.
see? told you i seen the struggle. he is a good dad but i know i can get every bit of $625-700 a month. but hell he don’t even want to pay $245 so like i told him just keep the difference and put it in a college fund or something.

kwallace - Yes, I try and handle mine, but the child support issue is a touchy subject because for one I am a single parent and raise my son myself and have done so for the past 5 years, before then I took care of mine and she never had any complaints. Even though me and my baby momma hardly got along but taking care of my kid was never the argument it was more of how to raise him. So I can very well speak on how much money is fair, and what is ridiculous because I know exactly what it cost to raise a kid and I am saying that a lot of these women want a handout. They either have an ill feeling about the dude and feel he owes her something or they were trash from the beginning but then again then you do have the good baby mothers but they don’t complain because they realize that regardless of what dude does it won’t interfere how they raise their kid. I dated a female and she must be like the best baby momma I’ve seen, she doesn’t expect anything from the dude because he ain’t ****, she set up an account for their kid, so when ever he felt like money needs to be contributed he would need to deposit in there and the money was going straight for the kid she wouldn’t even touch it.
You said 2000 in atlanta with 2 kids ain’t ****, so that means she ain’t working because the 2G’s is what he pays! If she gets $2000 and she works and gets another $2000 on her income that makes $4000 which is almost $50 G’s a year. The national average on a single persons income is about 26,000 and the median household income is around $48,000 so that in my opinion is a pretty decent living for a single household not including anything ELSE he pays!!!
What about Young Joc, Baby Momma that put him on blast and then she was a bold faced liar??? IT is a lot of women like that. Atlanta is almost like breeding ground of gold diggers and women that are looking for a meal ticket. I’ve seen the triflin ish women do to get pregnant by a ball player or celebs. Not saying that all of them are like that but a lot of them do. Thats their way out. That is sickening to me and they keep winning in the system.
Men have to take care of their kids but it starts with the woman and who she lets in between their legs. I know a lot of women that complain about their baby daddy’s but most of them are the “Thug” type, the same dudes they bragged about how they loved the big meat and how he broke they back out. Now they got a baby by these dudes and the magic is now gone. I even know a chick that married one because of it, but now she is unhappy and is stuck. So if you own the car, you need to make a better judgement of who to let it drive!

A chicken would have jumped at the opportunity to get paid and not waited all this time since TI been on to request “court-ordered” payments-not the typical MO of a chicken-who always is looking for a pay date-this situation doesn’t fit the scenario (in my opinion)
It kills me how people are saying that TI will do the right thing, you damn right he will at this point he won’t have a choice that’s the purpose of a “court order” it’s a legal arrangement and automatic. No harm in that if it’s being done already right?
And case in point, no matter what side of the fence either of us sit on, rather we deem it as right, wrong, fair or unjust-the fact of the matter child support and the amount TI and any other man (person) will pay has already been established by law and will be determined by a judge and as it stands now it depends on his income and the children are entitled to a percentage of that-broke or rich and whoever has custody is the overseer of the money plain and simple.
So all the back in forth is in vain-don’t like it change the law or better yet get “custody” of your children so that you for one can care for them as you see fit and for two you can make sure that “money” is spent the way you deem as appropriate, or three get married and stay married and aint no money going nowhere but in the household ya dig?

be just as careful when you decide to get in someone else’s car, there could be no brakes, it could be stolen, or the registration and insurance is suspended-that sh#t works both ways-if you choose to sleep with a gold digging trife hoe then you can’t blame nobody but yourself for not taking the time to know who you were dealing with…same goes for women but the common them in america according to statistics far more women are caring for their child solo-while baby daddys are free of parent duty and financial duty

Sorry Ladies I have to agree with the fellas on this issue. Honestly the woman that are doing it ight are a minority. In our community (black) the majority are getting over. I married I work my spouse has to kids, baby mama on welfare getting 800 a month in foodstamps for her five kids, medicaid, section 8 paying no RENT $0, subsidy from section eight to pay the light bill, water, sewer, everything else included in section 8 vochers and getting 822 a month from my spouse for child support for their two kids. 822, we are both professionals and of course our child lives better than her step-siblings, however its because its a two parent household who both work. And on the other hand its a babymama that anit workin having a new baby every year and dressed to the T everytime you see hear and pushing a nice ride.
When we get the kids all they do is complain about their shoes and clothes and I get tired of having to shell out even more money when she anit doing NOTHING. .. I agree with DBLAQ the mathmatics of it all. Nowadays people just greedy point blank.
I use that as an example but I can go on for days about friends, relatives, people in general who do that. They love it. Thrive on it and go to the club every wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday to drink on it!

Head of household can be filed by anybody that takes care of the home and has someone living with them under their care like a child or relative that qualifies. I think it is not that hard to see that woman and man are made different for one we have a pee pee and you have a poo poo. Woman bear children, men don’t. Fom what i heard the judge recalculated from 3500 to 2000. so the amount is what the judge set. Both parties can agree to settle child support amount without going to court. It is when a decent amount is set and the man takes advantage of the situation then is forced to go to court. lets say me and my baby daddy agreed for him give me 500 dollars a month and coverage in his medical. he does it for about six months then renigs, so now i have to take that ass to court. so now the judge forces him to pay 800 plus medical and other expenses. some men dont know when they have it good. when making negociations outside of court. sometimes the guy be begging on court day crying saying baby please dont do this. the women can withdraw the suit at anytime.

Again it looks as though this woman is just trying to get something official from the courts since TI is about to go to jail. I mean yeah he’s giving her $2K directly now, but who know what will happen to him in jail? Since they were never married, nothing is a given for her sons when it comes to his estate, and she’s simply trying to secure their future by having a paper trail in the justice system. Yes they’re in private school now, but what happens when he’s in jail? Who’s looking out for their children then?
