John McCain Won’t Attend Debate
According to the Associated Press, John McCain has decided to suspend his campaign and skip Friday’s first presidential debate.
Instead, McCain will go to Washington DC to urge Congress to pass the $700 billion economic bailout package. This morning, McCain called upon Sen. Barack Obama to do the same, saying, “It’s time for both parties to come together to solve this problem.”
But Obama rejected McCain’s request saying he was continuing his campaign and will be at the debate on Friday. Obama appeared to mock McCain when he said a President should be able to do more than one thing at a time.
Referring to the economic crisis as “this mess,” Obama said. “This is exactly the time the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess.
What I’ve told the leadership in Congress is that if I can be helpful, then I am prepared to be anywhere, anytime. What I think is important is that we don’t suddenly infuse Capitol Hill with presidential politics.”
The liberal media is referring to McCain’s chess move as “brilliant.”

You know they are cooking something. Bush wants to make sure his wallet remains fat because he does have to move out the White House.

John McCain is someting else. I can’t wait to see how his campaign turns this into something positive. That’s going to take a great deal of creativity, but they’ve been pretty damn creative so far. He’s slimey as hell.

He should have just said I got the bubble guts and can’t attend because 2 weeks ago. He said that “the fundamentals of our economy is strong”, so now all of sudden it is that bad that he put is “presidential campaign” on hold, so he can rescue the americans. Why doing this when the US economy is strong???????????????????? Everybody go find a republican and beat them in face with a baseball bat now!

first of all, obama called mcSame first and suggested the meeting and then mcSame called back and said ok. but they can still have the debate. like a congressman said ” does mcCain think congress will be working on this bill until 9pm?” come on with the negative spin on EVERYTHING!

Not sure if I read this right. Was Bush to state that he wanted a “cap” on payouts to executives who have to leave a company. I only want to run a huge company for one day, run it down to the ground (or not) and walk away with a 10-15 million dollar bonus. Where can I sign up. Email me!
What the hell is McCain going to say to make them “push” the bill faster? As Congress said, they want to make sure all loose ends are tied before handing over a blank check. He needs to cut the BS and attend the debate so America can watch Obama rip him apart.

I half way thought in the back of my head that this was a pretty sly move, but if Obama had made that suggestion, they would have immediately called him a coward, and insist that he was trying to avoid the debate. McCain spent his whole life dodging reality and trying to use other peoples’ power to get a head.

McCain is scared & stalling!!!! He doesn’t stand a chance debating against Obama. An Bush & the republicans know that!!!! Just compare both of there convention speeches!!!!
Put it this way. These politicians like McCain, Bush, etc and majority of the Republican party don’t know that the majority of American’s are suffering right now because they are NOT struggling. They have millions and millions in their bank account, their houses are paid for and probably have been so many moons ago. They will always have gas. So how would they know if the working class is suffering?
Bush probably only sees the profits from the oil companies deposited in his bank account. They probably changed their mind after they ask some political advisor and they confirmed that the ecomonmy is bad.
Obama is the only person that I believe has ties to what a regular family is going through. McCain and the his rich good ole boys NEVER struggled and don’t what it is like

I find this move…HILARIOUS…especially since a week ago, your President and your beloved Senator McCain was telling the public that the econonmy was strong…hell, even McCain’s financial advisor stated on TAPE that Americans were a bunch of “whiners” who need to suck it up and get out of their emotional depressed state…
I won’t even GET ON THE FACT that your beloved Senator McCain was PERSONALLY involved in one of the BIGGEST financial scandals that rocked the banking world to its very foundation back in the 80s (and quite frankly this b.s. is a indirect aspect of that situation)…
So McCain can take that bully crud and get on with the be on…good, don’t go to the debate…give Obama that WHOLE time period to state his case…
