But it was all worth it—we made history– OBAMA 2008!!! I can’t even express how its going to feel to walk into work tomorrow and have that look on my face when I see my boss like “hell yeah it was worth it”.

I don’t know what state you live in. If you went to work and left for work to vote it is not held against you as far as losing our job. Just as in many states if you have to serve jury duty your employer has to pay your salary and you also get paid a “minimual” fee for jury duty. It’s the law.

When you have to pay peter to pay paul you do know how to live pay check to pay check. This is kind of what Peggy was saying that was not read between the lines. She can now pay both. Gas prices have decreased in the last few months. Bush is still our president until January and I will not be surprised if little by little it(gas) goes up another 2 bucks between now and the weekend. Plus Thanksgiving is a few weeks away prices of gas alwasy go up on a holiday. We are not in the clear yet.

And I am more than happy that you voted for our President for the reasons that you listed that is a right that our ancestors struggled for so I am proud that you executed your right. Nevertheless I don’t think that just because he won you will now be able to tell your future grand kids they can be whatever they want to be when they come of age. I think that is something you should instill in them anyway. It has to start somewhere who knows they may continue to follow the presidency of color. I am quite sure that Obama was made aware that he can be whatever he chooses and that was before any Black/Man of color won the election. If someone didn’t let him know that then we probably wouldn’t be looking at the first Black President. I don’t even know what to say or how to begin. It was so crazy watching the numbers rise yesterday. Thats a landslide victory, no way to come back from that. This man deserved it and that crowd he had was loyal to the end. A mixed crowd just like the world is. When you looked at the Republican rally there wasn’t a black soul there, though I did see one or two spanish people. This is a blessing for all of us. I am very proud of Obama, but I am even more proud of my people. I was out early yesterday and drove past a few polling sites in Detroit and those lines were around the block. My people commited to something and pulled it off, I have never been more proud of us in my life. It goes to show that we can come together and beat the odds.

I just want to give ya’ll a taste of what goes on in my company. In September some employees at a branch were emailing each other dissing obama.. saying they hope he was deported and other racially charged ( IMO) items. THey send it to a friend inside the company and what does he do? Sends it to the ENTIRE COMPANY!! I mean CFO’s, branches, our subsidiaries all that. This is where I work. Like I said… 3 of us and I’m related to all of them.

I am so happy today that my heart literally hurts! Anyway, why are thesse folks in my workplace very salty. You could hear a rat run by that’s how quiet it was when I arrived. I am the only employee at my job. I have not had a live person walk through the door.(other than 3 white guys for a meeting). The guy who pays my salary said that there are ppl who think Obama is going to pay for their gas and their mtgs. I told him that was taken out of context and what she said is she did not have to choose what bill to pay. He was not buying it and really thinks that ppl want a hand out. Whatever. I don’t think that being gay/lesbian/transgendered is a choice. To me, it’s how you were born. Why would anyone choose to live their life as a gay person. It’s hard to be gay, it ain’t easy.

It’s been proved time and time again that being gay is something that was passed on to the child from the parents. It’s in your genes.

Most ppl voted no because they want a different option for same sex couples. Marriage is between a man and a women when it comes to church not the government. You can be married in church but just because a priest/pastor/Reverend/whatever signed off on you don’t mean that the government acknowledges that. You have to file for a marriage license separately because church and state are kept separate and that is what the founding fathers of this country based this country on. Our founding fathers came from foreign land to escape from religious oppression.

The point is that keep your religious beliefs separate from other people’s beliefs. This “marriage is between a man and a women” argument is based on religion and that is not what this country was founded on.
