Video: Palin Pardons one turkey while another is slaughtered behind her

Alaska governor Sarah Palin can’t catch a break. Palin visited a turkey farm in Anchorage, Alaska yesterday to pardon a turkey in time for Thanksgiving.

Following the pardoning, Palin was interviewed by a news crew while a farm worker behind Palin was busy slaughtering another turkey.

Well, it is a turkey farm and that’s what they do there. But common sense should have prevailed and the turkey killing should have halted at least until the cameras were gone.

Don’t watch this video if you feel any kind of way about turkeys. It isn’t pleasant to watch. And the devilish grin on the man’s face doesn’t help any.

Her annoying voice was more disturbing than the turkey killing. It wasn’t particularly brutal or bloody so it’s no big deal. Everybody eats turkey for Thanksgiving and we all know that they were killed in order for us to eat them. It was interesting to see how they do it.

I did run into this website that showed some very extreme unsanitary conditions. It was bananas!

@ kwall my BossLady isnt in the office yet – but when I open up my emails at 8:03 am … there is a corporate email taht speaks of a 4% decrease = 43,000 jobs and the elimination of the merit increase in 2009 – no raise at all … exact words “In light of current business conditions, our businesses and shared services have been looking at ways we can reduce our expenses without impacting growth. That’s not an easy task. We’re focusing first on discretionary costs, including projects that can be delayed or consolidated, as well as travel and entertainment and consulting. ”

I seriously feel like its beyond unjust, we merged back in 07 and were supposed to recieve a raise after the merger and when the new titles and positions were set forth …

and look its damn near 09 and still no raise

@iyonah same thing for us. we have had a salary freeze in effect for some papers since 2007. we got ours after round 2 of buyouts/layoffs about 5- 6 months ago. they sent 2 folks from my team home, divided up the work amongst the 3 of us left, and now we are not going to get paid any extra for any of the new duties we “inherited” until AT LEAST 2010.

I feel u on the raise situation but at the same time with people losing their jobs left and right…I am happy just to have my job everyday. We went thru one round of layoff on 10/15th and I couldnt imagine not having a job around the holidays. No job or No raise?? Ummm I’ll take No Raise for $500 Alex!!
