MTV To Name Madge ‘Woman Of The Year’
MTV will wrap up its year end countdown by naming its Man and Woman Of The Year on Thursday.
50-year-old Madonna is expected to be named Woman of the Year (LINK).
Today, MTV revealed the names of celebs listed 2-5 on its Woman of the Year list. Those celebs are 5. Katy Perry, 4. Miley Cyrus, 3. Taylor Swift, and 2. Britney Spears.
Yesterday we guessed the winner would be Madonna once we learned Rihanna was relegated to #8, one notch below Sasha Fierce. Who else set fire to the industry like Rihanna or Madonna this year?
Everyone knows RiRi should have been #1 and due to that obvious snub, MTV’s list is not being taken seriously by fans.
Anyway, congrats to Madonna for whatever it’s worth.

Madge has sold out arena’s.. She is as international as international gets. I think what helped her too is she let her fans in on her divorce by outing her ex-hubby. She said “some people are emotionally retarded” the crowed went crazy. She opened up and has always been open and a trend setter. Rhi-Rhi is groping and grabbing Radio oopps I mean Chris brown but they are just friends. Rhi-Rhi has not sold out as many concerts as 5. Katy Perry, 4. Miley Cyrus, 3. Taylor Swift, and 2. Britney Spears (Britney only needs to sneeze and she sells out venues).
Rhi-Rhi is well looked at in the black community but not in the yt community as much. She is eye candy as reported by so many men in the industry. She is still growing and will only get better so by next year perhaps we will see the difference with her ratings.
Beyonce is selling like hot cakes internationally. They love her in Europe and Japan especially since she performed with Alexandra Burke from the X-Factor so Sandra thank the Britz for that chart jump…. Americans are so judgmental and place every performer in the same box that’s why the music industry is fading. Everyone is a music critic. Madonna is not a great singer but she is a better performer. Janet is not a great singer but she is a better performer (she is just dated). Rhi-Rhi has great style that all there is for now. She needs to hone her craft to stay relevant

Moving on..@Candi I beg to differ I believe Rhi Rhi has major crossover appeal and to be honest I believed they liked her more when she 1st came out way more than our community did. I think Umbrella helped bring over anybody else that was still on the fence as far as the yt side goes. I dont think she had to change who she was to get them to like her unlike some of our other artist.

I agree with you on that but my point is they are not going to pick Rhi-Rhi over Britney or Miley S…… The black community checks for Rhi-Rhi more with her fashion. The white community checks more with her for her music. But, they really did not purchase her CD to the degree that you would believe. But, I enjoy your opinion and your post. You make a point.

UPDATE: Beyonce sells out three Irish shows

After announcing an extra Dublin date early this morning, Aiken promotions have confirmed that all three of Beyonce’s Irish shows have sold out.
The pop sensation sold over 35,000 tickets by 11am this morning, selling out 2 shows at the O2 in Dublin on May 29 & 30 2009 and 1 show at the Odyssey Arena Belfast on May 31.
THIS IS WHY SHE STAYS ON CHARTS…ALBUM PLATINUIM OVER A MILLION SOLD.
