NOBODY CARES: Beyonce
Do we have to post every single cover of every single magazine that this wench Beyonce is featured on??? Don’t worry, I’m not posting the latest magazine cover that Beyonce is on, but I did take an interest in this photo from the feature inside the magazine.
Take a good look because black people have already been superseded in the media by mixed race people. It’s going to be even worse now that this country has elected a mixed race president. If you have dark skinned kids, they won’t see themselves represented in the media.
And I hope that’s a little girl standing in front of Beyonce giving the camera the business like a mini B. Scott?

Normally I don’t buy into your color issues, but even I noticed that all the children were light skinnedded with the exception of two of them. But what can you do? i was about to say the same thing. i see now if he was white or dark skinned it would be ok. so all of the other people who dis like President Obama, hate him because he has light skin as well ? i cant help you with your feeling of self hate or worth, but President Obama didnt create him self, he had no choice over what his skin color would be. i dont think beyonce chose the kids in the photos maybe you should question the photographer as to why he chose the kids he chose.
As I stated yesterday I AM RESPONSIBLE for my kids in all ways…I dont want them looking to the media for anything but information not self assurance….maybe sandra that is why you have your issues because noone told you you were beautiful (YOU ARE OKAY)…I didn’t have to look to mags, tv ect. to know I was beacause I was told everyday by my mother father and as I got older myself (i still start the day with I love you your beautiful. NOw i instill those same thoughts into my kids if you know your self worth others will see it and respect it!!!

as some one who went to college in da 80′s, black college campus weren’t so much about skin color. light skinned and drk skinned people protested. we protested against apartheid and companies who invest in south Africa. the battles people had were about economics. rich kids versus the poor kids was the battle. the preppy look was not cheap. LOL
Black is beautiful in ALL shades I agree with that statement but that statment is usually uttered at the lack of brown or dark skinned blacks in media. So sad. All shades are equally pretty to bad a pic this size has only light or light brown *sighs*

What about the fact plus sizes are not put on the frontline in the media as well? What about the fact that our NATURAL hair is not accepted widely in the media as well? Skintones being an issue amongst US is like a 350 pound woman calling a 300 pound woman “too fat!” The point being is we still have the same battles to fight, same stereotypes to break, same statistics to escape. If my sistahs and brothas wanna argue amongst themselves about who is of higher esteem, thats ignorant, truth is we have much bigger battles to fight and sure to NOT win if we are steady fighting amongst ourselves.

I still don’t know why Caramel drop was banned? Kwallace was cool and funny till her last post. Sandra, I disagree with you on that dark skin bit. Though I can’t stand this Beyonce cover, they should have taken children of different ethnic groups. my celeb son KJ is the darkest in the land and I am getting him media exposure. President Obama had nothing to do with the bonus AIG paid its executives. those contracts are between the employees ans AIG. those contracts are valid and they can take AIG to court and get their money unless AIG ask them to renegotiate those contracts. contract wok both ways and its not President Obama fought AIG negotiated bad contracts knowing they had short amount of cash.

anyway, mixed people come in all shades and with all physical feature, even as dark as you. The issue isn’t whether or not more/less blacks are shown in the media – It’s more “Is there fair phenotype representation across the board?”
No matter what a person looks like, or what their heritage or bloodline is…we all should be able to look in the media and see people who look like we do. It doesn’t matter if one is pale with straight blonde hair, or brown with red kinky hair.

Sad topic, I tell you, “blacks”/people in this world feel all kinds of ways that arent justified factually, but pick one topic that someone is insecure about and here we go its everybody’s fault but the person who needs the empathy card. I’m gonna have to side with sandra PARTIALLY on this one. the first thing i noticed was the lack of darkskin brownness(if those are even proper phrases to use). I’m not usually one to get caught up in color, but most blacks represented on TV or of lighter shade. uhhh, what was that show with Taye Diggs,( i think). One time i remembered a brwonskin paper, next thing i know its some lightskin baby. Then there was my wife and kids, Jennifer freeman replaced that other gurl…..and it goes on. This is what the media pushes in our face, and yes its the job to let their kids know that they beautiful the way you are, but the media pushes the light is right pretty hard.

I think a big percentage doesn’t necessarily look to identity with what they see in the media.. but identifies with his household ..and daily interactions.. my family looks like container of those dippin dots. and then the school he goes to has some influence as well. but when he looks in his kids magazines & kids shows on tv. he sees a goood mixture of it all. good example the tv show- Corey ( the lil boy of thats so Raven)

@ Starr that works both ways. The kids on Bernie Mack show was not Lightskinned neither was Bernie or his wife for the matter.
& On the Cosby Show not all the kids were Lighskin (Vanessa, Rudy & Theo). If you are looking for it you will find it. But to me there are so many different shades of black that it would be impossible to only see one shade on your Tv. (unless it’s a black & white TV set)

If you do a search for Obama on this blog you will see that in the beginning I supported the man until he started lying about everything from Bill Ayers to Rev. Wright. It’s no surprise that he has reneged on almost all of hi campaign promises because he’s a liar. His lying is almost pathological. I know you can’t see it because you’re caught up in that Kool aid bliss. But soon it will become very clear even to you.
Also @ Daisy, as I pointed out yesterday, Obama has spent TWICE what Bush spent on the entire Iraqi war! Bush did it over 5 years. Obama has outspent Bush in only 40 days. Please let me know when you begin to see any of that money.
He did NOT Lie about Rev Wright or Ayers. I happen to agree with 99% of what Rev. Wright said. Pres. Obama said he knew of some things that were said regarding Wright and race and other issues/topics that they disagreed with. He was there for the word and he said more than once he didnt go to chuch every sun. I dont agree with Pastor all the time so what. I see you drank that kool aid since you love to say we drink kool aid as well. The man is NOT God and will make mistakes. The govt and Bush have LIED about how much money we have spent in Iraq thank you very much. He didn’t lie about his relationship with Ayers…I live in Chicago…have lived here all my life…grew up in Hyde Park…he and Ayers had a PROFESSIONAL relationship based upon the fact that they were trying to get quality education for poor children…they weren’t playing b-ball together and kicking it at each others house over a Miller Lite…
And regarding the spending situation…Obama is PRESIDENT…not KING…folks in here are KILLING me on the earmark stuff…an earmark isn’t a BAD thing in itself…I worked for a program at LaRabida Hospital that got funding to find out why so many poor children developed asthma…THAT WAS AN EARMARK PROJECT (and by the way, what we found out…SHOCKING)…spending money on telescopes that see out into space is an earmark…but guess what…we have THOUSDANDS OF PIECES OF DEBRIS…JUST FLOATING UP IN SPACE…AND WHEN THEY FALL AND WE DON’T HAVE THE TELESCOPES TO SEE WHAT’S GOING ON…do you forsee a problem…as Obama said…earmarks aren’t the problem…lyin’ cheatin’, stealing politicians are…who try to get millions of dollars to build a “dog park” in a nice suburb…or fund a outdoor concert hall that will have seats that are lined in gold…see…those are BAD EARMARK PROJECTS!!!
And yes, Obama has spent beaucoup money…but UNLIKE the Republicans…the money is being spent to make the lives better for EVERYBODY that particpates in this forum…not just the 1%…
It is NOT about drinking kool-aid…it is knowing that the ONLY PRESIDENTS in the modern history of the United States of America that have built programs that benefit ALL and not just SOME in this country…

When he was asked by John McCain on national tv in front of millions of Americans what his relationship with Ayers was, he lied and said “he’s just someone I know from the neighborhood.” That was a lie and it followed the other big lie about him not hearing Rev. Wright say inflammatory statements about the U.S. government in 20 years. That was when I decided that I would no longer support him because he can’t be trusted to tell the truth. I HATE liars. It came out later that he knew Ayers very well. Even after all of that came out in the media about him and Ayers, he continued to lie. Obama even made a commercial claiming that Ayers did not throw that famous fund raising party for him at his house even though people were in attendance and saw him there!! It was one lie after another with him. Maybe you should do a little research on your president.
Sandra get off of it already. He is NOT best friends with Ayers. They are/were on boards together and knew ppl in the same circles so what. I dont care if he went to his house or not or if he had a fundraiser. As far as Rev Wright, did you attend Trinity and see Pres Obama at church on THOSE Suns? He said he knew how Rev Wright saw race in america(he did NOT agree) but he didn’t know he made those comments that were taken out of context in a 30 sec loop (that I agreed with by the way).
