So I guess CW canceled The Game

Rumor has it that CW has canceled “The Game.” I can’t say that I blame them.

Sorry y’all. I realize some of you are loyal fans of that show but it lost its magic once the budget was cut. The Game was worth watching in its first season. But this past season was simply the worst. Yes, I’m basing that assessment off of the one episode that I saw. But it’s routine for investors to decide whether to invest their money in a series based on one episode called a pilot or test episode.

That one show I saw was horrible. The acting was atrocious and the show moved at the pace of a turtle. When two of the female characters started fighting over an obivously gay man, I knew that show was toast.

Sandra the first season of the Game was WACK! I am still waiting until CW says it cancelled. I read that is supposed to happen tomorrow. The show has improved by leaps and bounds since season 1. They had a few suspect shows this season but overall the season was good.

They dont cancel the WACK white shows that are on every darn channel so go head with all that!

the game is the best show on right now…what do you mean? that last episode was great! i think its on a bad night…cause i always have to catch it on TIVO. all i gotta say is that’s a good ass show.

I think this season came off as a bit rushed because they were not sure if they were coming back. I am glad Derwin and Mel got married cause I am STILL MAD that I didnt see what Joan’s wedding dress would have looked like!

I think we should get one more season to see what Melanie and Derwin’s married life would be like as well as the situation with Jenay. I would also like to see how Kelly and Tasha’s relationship will be (TA-DA BYTCH lol). It wasn’t necessarily a cliffhanger, but there a definitely a lot of issues that can be explored further.

Yeah Girlfriends just stopped coming on. They run it on a ‘we’ network – the past seasons re-runs. I didn’t know Maya and Darnell were considering adoption, or that Joans fiance was coming home from Iraq.

I hate I been missing the Game. It’s a shame, too because I’m home at this time of the day.

So I’m listening to Tom Joyner Morning Show last week and the CEO of BET (that lady) was on there saying (not in her exact words) BET is trying to get The Game to come on their network. They didn’t want to see the show get cancelled plus it would pull more viewers to BET.

the first season was so wack. if you only watched one episode then how can you possibly have an opinion on all the shows?

i am waiting for official word. the word is coming from ew.com that gave a cheat sheet for fall lineups. this is not official.

the cast is great and the acting is just fine. since season one, every character has grown. it is a good show and if BET will take the show ( and not over sex it like everything else), i will support bet for finally doing something right

I don’t watch the show. I have watched a few episodes, but i can’t get pass bad acting.

The only black citcom/show i’ve watched as a fan was girlfriends. Everything else is oldies.

if that show goes, there wont be any blk themes shows on tv. the ratings will tell you, that african americans like to watched shows that feature them, so without those shows, the ratings will drop. cable tv has went after the african american audience with great success. you would think those white folks would want some of the african american dollars since they spend the same as whitey.

i watched one episode cuz of “piggy” from steve harvey show. regina, that’s it. the time slot was all over the place so that didn’t help the show either. isn’t this mara brock akil’s show (creator of girlfriends)? mara, sit back and relax. you’re set for life. girlfriends is in syndication. you will be ok.

The show is not officially cancelled. For all we know it might be a case of EW.com not giving a damn if they get their facts straight. Like the white media referring to every black person they don’t know as a rap star rather they be a singer, actor or whatever. Right now not even the stars have been told the show’s fate.

In the event it is cancelled, Michael Strahan has a sitcom coming out on Fox in the fall which will air Friday’s at 8. The show is about a retired football player.

Michael Strahan/Darryl Mitchell have a new series. Another football player (can’t think of his name) has a series coming out as well. Both on Fox

Tyler Perry’s sit coms are still out there. And Jada Smith is getting a series.

I personally don’t think BET can afford to pick up The Game on their network. Unless they cancel all their other programs and pay the cast like that.

The media just…They just…There was an incident that involved a home invasion robbery. The news station didnt have much info, but they did know the name of the guy who’s house it was, and what he looked like. The news caster did say that they “weren’t sure”…but that he may be some sort of hip hop producer. Big black man living in an upscale neighborhood what else could he be?lol…Of course he wasn’t a producer. Saying rapper makes the story more sensational thanks to all the negativity associated with rap….

I still liked Gfriends after Toni left. She aint have shyt else to go do so that was on her. The creator said she could come back at anytime. I heard they may do a Gfriends movie.

Mya was my fav character on gfriends anyway.lol She was a FOOL.

@BK The game was about more than that. Mel was in medical school far from a “golddigger”. While I dont agree with everything Steve Harvey said in his book (did not buy it) I am glad he kept it real on the term golddigger.

I mean yeah it was a nice thought to reenact a classic film like cooley high, but what n da hell made you think you could play all the characters by yo self? Yes I’ll admit you and cochise bare a striking resemblance, but the ditch party scene was a disaster…Watching you slow dance with yourself to ooh baby baby was just awkward to say the least. You could of at least hired some extras to make the party look more realistic…Painting faces on card board boxes just didnt get it.heehee

Love the show..But I can certainly see why they would cancel it..If anything..I hope they don’t bring it back for an hour…If they hour long finale is any indication of what a regular hour long episode would be like..They will be in big trouble eventually..The show without the laugh track was almost unbearable..

I hated the way the show “All Of Us” ended. Robert decided to be Niecy’s sperm donor, they were in a hotel room kissing and we never saw it again. No warning no nothing, unless I missed the memo.

Hello All. Never watched Game but like many of you, Girlfriends was the bomb. Too bad Hollywood never gave these women their props. They were good-looking women who could act but they never were nominated for a Emmy or you hardly ever saw any of them on the cover of Vogue or InStyle, especially Diana Ross’ daughter. (If Diana was a famous white singer, it would be an entirely different story, like Goldie Hawn and her daughter, what makes HER so special? Tracey Ellis Ross reminds me so much of a black Carol Burnette, so versatile, funny and talented. There are so many good black actors but if you’re not Halle or Denzel, well, need I say more? Buy hey, they’re not young chickens anymore and someone has to take their places. I’m just saying…..

Yeah, Living Single was the bomb. I also kinda liked Half n Half. The mothers were a trip, especially the tall one that could look like a drag queen. The writers were great. Once again, beautiful, talented black actresses who got relatively no attention from the media. Oh but Friends stayed on, how many yrs? I believe they made a million an episode.

The Cosby days are long gone. Peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

@ PA girlfriends was a good show but I have to disagree with them being beautiful women. They were hard on the eyes mainly manly looking Mya… & Toni with those teeth. Lynn was about the only one passable (how I’m doing).

I actually loved the game! It gave you a look inside an pseudo fototball team. It was good to see how the wives and girlfriends are, and the home life of the players. I loved Tasha Mack and Malik plays the hell out of the vain celebrity star.

Melanie and Derwin’s relationship was so cute. Kelly is the stand by you man, no arguments here white girl. I think they are funny and I hope it doesn’t get canceled. They should have left it on Monday’s. I miss most of the episodes of Fridays.
