Here’s a new track by Jay Z that just leaked tonight. All that hype and all we get is the same nausea-inducing garbage that he always delivers. You know Jay Z never drops a track without a gimmick, right? So this time he’s declaring auto tune is dead.
I guess that means all his zombie followers will repeat after him and toss their Kanye West and T-Pain CDs out their car windows?

Not mo’s famous eye roll Auntie.
PS: the Obama posts could use the eye rolls as well
Jay Z has never made nausea inducing garbage. His music for the most part has been relevant (besides a few mainstream songs). “Rappers” like Rocko and others could only wish to ever make music like Jay Z.
Umm mspeng most of jay zs songs have NOT been relavent lol nice try though
Ice is coming for you Sandra lol
Sandra, did I miss your post about Ciara’s obvious boob job? Imagine dismay and disappointment when I saw it on another blog first.
Woah woah woah…jayz is the best rapper alive, that song is needed its relevant and anybody that disagrees is too busy snapping along to that horrid southern ‘rap’ that has seemed to take over…HipHop needs a savior NY and upper east coast needs a comeback and this song and that album will be fire!!!
Jigga can do no wrong. Sick of the auto tune and T-pain. So, cliche!
I love when Sandra wants to make a post so she pretends to not care JUST to make it & be current lmao. I really do love that!
NY will never come back. It’s not like there ain’t no good rappers. Nobody trying to hear that ol boom bap lol.
more like Jay Z rap career is dead….who the hell wants to listen to dat shyt! NY rap is DEAD, all of it, the sound of their dialect annoys the hell outta me, and Im glad they are outta of the game. I’d rather listen to someone auto-tune all day long before I cop a tired azz New York CD…with all the YO, and B, and SON, and that other stupid lingo. Get over it and stop hating MR. Carter.
I’m no Jay-Z stan (I prefer Pac, Cube, 3000, Lauryn Hill, Scarface..etc) but this is good ****!! T-Pain is going to be legendary, but he has waaaaaay to many imitators right now. I hope this slows down the T-Pain imitators…but not T-Pain..cause that’s my potnanem..
DOC JAM, I SEE YOU GOT THEMESSAGE OUT OF IT. MOST PEOPLE ACT LIKE THIS IS A SINGLE, IF YOU LISTEN TO THE LYRICS YOU’LL HEAR EXACTLY WHAT IT IS. I AM AN OLDER WOMAN, I ENJOYED AUTO TONE WHEN ROGER TROUTMAN DID IT. IT WAS COOL WHEN T-PAIN BROUGHT IT BACK, TOLERABLE WHEN KANYE DID IT, BUT IT IS OVERDONE NOW. RAPPERS PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE AUTO TONE.

hiphop has gotten too dumbed down shame
*goes and puts on Reasonable Doubt*

You got TI, Jeezy, and Wayne fukked up! Anyhow, the same way you feel about our southern drawl is the same way we feel about that NY shyt, only I guess the south are actually SUPPORTING their artists, since the dumbest shyt get air play and sell records regardless. I don’t listen to all the southern tracks that come out, shyt if its stupid, its stupid….something like that CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP BS NY came up with…Im sure you didn’t buy that nonsense did you? So don’t act like NY don’t put out snap music…its just the LAME version. Hip Hop has changed, yes…..And obviously people are appreciative….its the OLD azz people who can’t loosin up and have a little fun with it. Who the hell wants to sit in a club listening to “Reasonable doubt” ?
*Listens to turn my swag on remix*

No, that blog is late. All the blogs talked about Ciara’s boob job two years ago when she first got ‘em done.
Google the words Ciara and boob job.
JAY Z’S MUSIC NOT RELEVANT????
I have 2 words for you…AMERICAN GANGSTA! Do yourself a favor and go cop that cd. Every single song on the cd is pure GENIUS!
And Sandra, I dont appreciate you calling me a zombie. Its not my fault your tast in hip hop is designated to broke down southern rappers like, half the time I don’t understand what they saying. Now, granted, you have your gems, like Luda, Wayne, and Outkast. Most of the hip hop music thats comin from the south is fun party stuff, which is cool. But the Stanky Leg, Bird Walk, my dougie (I could list so much stuff right now), Legends arent made outta that.
Wasnt his last song before this, Swagga Like us? I thought that pretty relevant and so did the rest of the country.
@ Krysi J.
Sigh. Everything is NOT for everybody obviously.
^^^^^ and I agree, but the south is on top right now and obviously Im not in the minority with this opinion.
what it was JAY Z said…….ummmm….oh yea
Numbers DON’T lie!
Wayne sold ah “Milli” in one week to JaY Z’s 800,000…..so I guess southern drawl is HOT!
Numbers DO NOT mean talent. Case in point, Vanilla Ice’s, “Ice Ice Baby” sold 15 million copies. The number 1 rap single of ALLLL TIME lol.
Besides, YOU turned this into North vs South thing. This record isn’t even a North vs South record to begin with. Its about the overuse of the auto-tune…which is soooo goddamn true. Ron Browz, a NY “rapper” and producer also uses it. So that North vs South mess is out the door. If your favorite rappers & singers are using it, then yes you should be offended lol.
Hell, they got Mary J damn Blige using the auto-tune now! COME ONNNNNN! LOL
Kryis I loves ya girl I agree with everything u said I like the old skool jay z but american gangsta was wack I only buy a handul of rap music these days anyway. I will say some of the south music is wack n corny as well but the kids love it but just cause a rapper has a ny accent which I love does NOT mean they are the bizness
At the end of the day I could care less bout autotunes t pain did not create it he just gave it new life n folks quickly jumped on the bandwagon
Both the south n north have HAWT rappers
Its the KING HOMIE

Yes i did turn it into N vs S becuz who brought the auto tune back… T-pain, where is T-pain from THE SOUTH, and as always up N rappers try to talk shyt about something the SOUTH is doing. Just like they did SNAP music. They try to imitate shyt and when they fail…everything is DEAD in their books. When the fact is NY is DEAD in hip hop, and no matter how many #1 hits they get copying off of our shyt, or collabing with one of our artist the bottom line is we don’t want to hear that shyt anymore. And ya boy is the one who pointed that shyt out when he accepted his award on BET one year….so his words just came back around to bite him in the azz when he FELL OFF with the others. Numbers do not equal talent, Jay Z seems to think otherwise….however he may have another explanation for saying that (like you do) now that his numbers aren’t adding up. Wayne has talent, some people just don’t want to give him credit for it but they don’t have to, it ain like he going broke worrying about it.
*turns remix back up*
“Better tell’em im hotta than the average on a missile, white benz, crome wheelz like a napkin on a nickel. Yung Mu-lah baby, Weezy baby, don’t forget the Weezy baby, blackcard boi, make ya throw away the visa baby…ha…you ain on the planet im on, and I neva leave my swagga at hoOOme! “
Ohh chit, now I love you Krysi but imma have to ride with sponge and Coo Coo on this one. I HATE auto tunes with a passion and all those stupid azz “do the” songs. I’m a fan of good music so I don’t care where you’re from its how u spit.
IMO T Pain is one of the most overrated artist EVER. Auto tunes should’ve RIP w/Roger Troutman. Now as far as Jay, come on now love him or hate him his chit stays relevant. American Gangsta was DA **** and its still in my 6 changer right now. He was consistant and still is for a decade. How many rappers can do that? Give Jay his due cause he earned his stripes.
Lastly, I’m someone who believes that sales don’t equal talent. I never thought that how many CDs you sold dictates if you’re the chit because Common, Talib, Mos Def and the Roots to name a few have never got their just due sales BUT are some of the best in the game.
Please don’t make this into a East Coast/Dirty South beef. Stop the cyber beefs…lol
Ok, yall want me to give Jay Z his credit due, but no Northern rapper fan wants to give Weezy his???? In that case I refuse, cuz truth be told, I ain feeling Jay Z like yall are…..all that talk about American Gangsta, and reasonable doubt…I didn’t cop those CD’s and I didn’t think they were genius material….but I do have The Carter, The Carter II & III. I relate to Waynes craft, I can’t relate to Jay Z’s or any other NY rapper besides a hot single’s worth because I hate the dialect. I understand completely that you all may feel the same about southern drawl, but just like in the 80’s and 90’s when yall were running things there wasn’t much to be said about it, because NY were doing their thing…..NOW, that the SOUTH is running shyt of course Im going give them their props, cuz the truth iz thats what I wanted to hear anyway. Im sorry that yall don’t agree, but Im not sorry that I don’t. And Jay Z is the one who told us “Numbers don’t lie”…..and he did so to brag about it az he accepted his award, at that moment he thought numbers equaled talent….now, yall wanna holla bout record sales don’t equal talent (not a surprise since the South is selling more)…just remember to add Jay Z into that equation.
I have no beef with lil wayne, when carter III came out they were hyping him like the best thing since slice bread and calling him greatest rapper ever …um NO in my opinion i dont agree with that mess at all ESP since a nicca from PHILLY ghostwrote for lil wayne for years and a big part of lil wayne style is philly, so no i have no beef with lil wayne, im just mad that its alot of decent hiphop out there that gets no play, my radiostation plays straight TRASH sunup-sundown…the HS kids dont seem to like thoughtful ish nomore like i said hiphop is watered down and dumbed down and its a shame, now it was foolish of me to blame that on the south i will take that back cause its BS music from all regions(just mainly south imo)
imo BLU from west coast is best in game but noone knows of him..Joell Ortiz NY heck all of slaughterhouse is killing it…im 28 and i related to resonable doubt, illmatic ready to die etc im from philly storytelling at its finest.. i simply dont relate to **** out now for most part……..
My BABY NASIR OLU DARA JONES said hip hop was dead! Nobody from NY is doing anything worth talking about right about now or for awhile for that matter. Again I say I like the OLD SKOOL Jay Z but the reasonable doubt cd was him talking about drugs and the streets that aint relevant per say no matter who it is. I think we need to define relevant if by that some mean it aint snap and radio friendly per say then yes its relevant if we talking about it being concious(sp) then HELL NAW!..lol I did not like the American gangsta cd at all and my cousin who like Ice is a STAN didnt either. She feels Jay has fallen off the last few yrs but of course she still loves him like Ice..lol
@Shauny T Pain is very talented IMO even w/o autotunes but that made you say he was overrated so it worked.lol All a part of his marketing plan. I have a cousin that is a T Pain STAN..lol I am a fan but I dont like everything he does but he can sing(even w/o autotune), “rap” and produce.
@Krysi I agree when NY was on top everybody was supposed to bow down regardless if they were feeling it or not. Being from NC we got both NY and Southern music when I moved to the A most of my friends do NOT like NY rap at all where as I do and always have. All the bubble gum music (swag/surf, halle berry, turn my swag on again its for the KIDS, souljah boy just did an interview with MTV saying his friends dont relate to Jay Z but they respect him for who he is. Times have changed right/wrong or indifferent!
Krysi.. darling lol. Wayne is where he is because of his buzz from the mixtapes. Where do you think that buzz came from? So as far as NY not giving Wayne his credit…that is plain WRONG. I don’t listen to NY rap stations but every so often I do check their playlist online and Wayne would FOREVER be on it.
And here’s some minor “history”… Before Wayne became numero uno, he was out in NY rolling with Juelz Santana & the now defunct Diplomats. Some might even argue HEAVILYYY that he got his whole steez from Juelz & em and took it down there. But that’s whatever.
As far as Jay taking a swipe at T-Pain and (in your mind lol) taking a swipe at the south…you must have not heard the post-interview where he gives his props to T-Pain AND Wayne AND Kanye for using it. BUT other “artists” are taking it way too far. To the point where everything is sounding the same.
Like I said, MJB is using auto-tune. MARY F*CKING J. BLIGE IS USING AUTO-TUNE! How crazy is that! And this is why this record was made. It’s actually the “street single.” For the streets as the title implies lol.
And yea, Jay was wrong for saying that. But hey, rappers are like boxers, ****y ass hell lol. But me personally, numbers do not equal talent.
And yea, every region has had it’s moment in the sun. Sh*t, if I were the West Coast, I’d be mad as hell that I can’t get a single played lol. But thank god for the hip hop blogs who put me on about emcees I sure as hell won’t see on BET or hear on my local “hip hop” station.
Annnnd.. about that dialect & drawl thing lol. I don’t like Wayne. But I listen to Young Dro records. And goodness knows I only understand about 60 percent of what he’s saying… up from 40 since Sandra posted that mini-dictionary a while back lmao.
In concluuusion lol, aren’t we all just happy that we have iPods & MP3 players and can listen to whatever our ears desire? lol.
Yeah forgot to add I agree CD sales don’t always equal talent per say. Indie Arie/E Badu are very talented but they will never be mainstream and break cd sales and what have you.
In concluuusion lol, aren’t we all just happy that we have iPods & MP3 players and can listen to whatever our ears desire? lol
************************************************************
Exactly!!!
And wayne gets more than enough airplay on our stations up here. He’s onme of the main reasons i don’t listen to radio. Everything is a lil wayne song or a song w/ lil wayne featured.
I’m no jigga fan. He could rep brooklyn call day, it won’t make me like him. But i’m tired of the bull shyt music. The only rappers from the south i listen to are luda and T.I. And ohhhh, and i forgot outkast. Ain’t nuthing really wrong w/ southern rap, but my prob with it is that….most of isn’t rap. I don’t even know what it is.
Well I am a midwest girl but that doesn’t mean I have to ride with Eminem, Ye, and Nelly (when he was hot) is holding it down better than anyone else and everywhere else is dead scenario. That’s not the way I support music but that’s me. Wayne is the best rapper alive right now and I don’t have any problem giving him that due. He’s my fav and has been for the last few years. I don’t think rap is dead but being a 80s baby and listening to rap of that era and the 90’s the chit out now from coast to coast is mediocore at best. That may have more to do with age and preference than anything else.
Daisy - when I say relevant I mean what someones audience wants to hear (good or bad) and that artists growth with his fanbase. IMO Jay has did that. I’ve only hated Blueprint 2 and Kingdome Come from his. Of course others will disagree.
My numbers don’t lie had nothing to do with the Wayne/Jay comparison but in general. I’ve mentioned my belief on this in a few other posts. There are good artist that don’t pull numbers but are way more talented than those who do. When Houston and ATL were doing their thing a few years ago with Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire etc.and Luda, Jeezy, and TI I liked their chit and it was undisputed that the South was the chit but at the same time NY will never die. Last time they counted NY out guess who comes out…the greatest that ever did it BIG!
East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, Down South, I really don’t care just make good music.
And wayne gets more than enough airplay on our stations up here. He’s onme of the main reasons i don’t listen to radio. Everything is a lil wayne song or a song w/ lil wayne featured.

Damn we think alike, only I feel the exact same way about the NORTH and I hated it when Jay z was on the radio all day, and collabing on everybody shyt…I just didn’t get it……Alot of that up north shyt wasn’t rap to me…i still don’t know what it iz, besides a bunch of YO, SON, and BROOKLYN IN DA HOUSE bullshyt??
And why would he give props to Weezy, Kanye, and T-pain and diss his own peers in NY?? Weezy, Kanye, and T-pain are the only artist making real money off of it, why would he leave them out…probably bcuz…..HE WOULDN’T, he just didn’t want to admit he’s HATING.
@Shauny I agree as well record sales has nothing to do with talent or lack thereof. I love me some BIG but I have always felt the greatest of all time and best that ever did it was forced on us..lol People can rep and like whatever region they like cause I sure LOVED me some Nelly and he was bubble gum rap as well but it worked for him. Same with Ja rule..lol
I feel relevant means you are saying something worth saying/positive and that knocks out alot of ppl in my book but that doesnt mean I dont like their music just means they aint saying shyt 99% of the time..lol I wish we could have more of a balance but kids/teens want to party and have fun not be deep. *sighs*
NOW THE GOAT of RAP FOR ME is still between B.I.G and TUPAC….(Tupac a lil more than BIG..LOL but he’s a GREAT all the same) That type of NY music I loved.
I don’t know if Ill get shot for saying this but….BIG IS NOT WORTHY OF THE CREDIT HE IS GIVEN. Sorry, but IMO Big is aight, definately not worthy of the throne he gets.
And that movie was HORRIBLE!
The fact that TPain happens to be from the south is pure coincedence (sp?), it wouldnt matter if was from LA, CHI, ATL, NY OR MARS…autotone is done and over with.
I think people give wayne credit all the time..Jay has, Kanye has, TI has…no one is disputing Waynes talent..maybe only sandra. Im a 90’s baby,and granted my opinion on jay maybe bias but he is one of the greatest to ever do it. His latest material is a great example of that.
Wayne is great and different but I agree that people were hyping him up crazy style when CARTER III came out. Now I don’t know about ya’ll but his previous cds were was better than that and any true blue wayne stans would know that.
I rep for good music, period.
@shauny
I think you said you were from the chi too. Well, if you were down with Eminem I would have to hunt you down and rework your brain cuz I don’t think anyone besides white people and Dre are down with him. He is so wack to me. Just an embarassment to his own self. No follow chicagoan of mine would be caught dead listening to Em. lol
lol…I’m from Toronto. All I got is Drake. lol.
The verdict is still out on Drake lol
@hermosa I agree I love me some biggie but the best to ever do it n greatest of all time is a bit much
Wayne paid his dues earned his stripes n it finally pd off for him
I’m feeling Drake now actually…he seems to have lyrical content so far.
Drake? isn’t that like listening to lil wayne all over again?
Time for tpain to find a new gimmick.
Hey Hermosa yeah I’m from the Chi but you don’t come on here a lot anymore to hear me always going at Eminem. Girl I can’t stand him. No intervention needed…lol
Biggie is da shyt IMO because his flow and lyrics were the kind that you’d have to go “hold on, wtf did he just say, rewind that shyt again”. His freesyles and just lyrics in general are still in there with shyt mc’s are rapping about. He’s did in 2 CDs what rappers won’t do their entire career. You can’t listen to the entire Ready to Die or Life After Death and not rank this man one of the best and IMO the BEST.
Also, I’ve always believed that a large group of Pacs fanbase was more women who thought he was sexy and people that loved not his music but more his beliefs. I loved pre Death Row Pac but when he joined them and started that stupid beef chit I couldn’t stand his ass. Pac had good songs but BIG murders him.
Yea well I could say the same about BIG Shauny. I liked him before the Beef…and I loved Tupac for his lyrics, beliefs, and his SEXINESS thank YOU..lol!
************************************************************
I actually feel this same way about jay lol. The djs here be sloberring ova him, i use to think that some of em use to do that payolla thing.
And drake is growing on me. I was degrassi luver ….lol He’s been better than i expected
@Shauny As as I said before I LOVE me some Biggie but I think the greatest of all time and best that ever did it was forced on us and most ppl bought into it and rolled with it. I love life after death it will forever be a classic cd!
OFF TOPIC FAME I wanna live forever TV1 took it back with this one..lol
Besides Biggie (RIP), I love me some KRS One and Rakim. And I cannot forget about Method Man. His love anthem with Mary J Blige is off the chain. I also like Kwame.
My favorite female rappers are MC Sha Rock (Funky 4+1 more), Yo-Yo, Salt n Pepa, and Lil Kim (I just wish her azz wasn’t so darn nasty on her HARDCORE album. LOL)
Also add Run DMC and LL Cool J to the list.
Today, I like Kanye and TI, who is growing on me.
Southerners are the worst haters
They are regionally haters
What ny rapper you know still sayin son and b??…right
This song has nothing to do with hate.
If you listen to the song and can comprehend then you know what its about.
Southerners are just paranoid like niggaz is coming after them or something.
Calm down.
And for the person talking ny vs down south…
The 1st person to get offended by the song and say something is an ny “rapper” name webstar.
Obviously the southern auto tuners dont give a **** bout the song so chill
and the whole wayne c3 numbers thing….
Wayne suck only the simple minded spend money on that nigga along with SB and Oj and gucci
Anyway the song is needed and is cool…
a lot of folk hate autotune, I guess if autotune falls off this year then Jay Z will try to take credit, whatever. And why is he talking about a blond lacefront and a fat azz, he shouldn’t be talking about his wife like that, he is 40 years old grow up already

He is so immature! It’s going to be funny when the white corporate world has no more use for him and they kick him back to the ghetto where he belongs.
I’m tripping on Jay-Z’s declaration of death to auto tune, when his wife so frequently uses it to correct her pitch. So if it’s dead for everyone else, Mrs. B. Carter can’t use it to cover her inaccuracies either, and she has them just like the next singer. Shyt - every recording session ain’t perfect. I like Jay, but he done stepped on a few toes nah.
Even if Jay is specifically going hard at the one’s who use auto tune to trick their vocals out (T-Pain, Kanye, Jamie Foxx, etc..), to kill it per se, would get rid of it altogether. When I tell y’all the music industry would crash and burrrrnnn?! Oh my! But…then again, there could be a rise in very competant vocalists if auto tune was gone. I’ve never had to use it to correct my pitch, and one of my favorite artists (Lalah Hathaway) despises it as well. You learn to appreciate the art & the special quality of raw vocals when you leave some of the mistakes there, plus have a good laugh at some of the unedited trinkets as a bonus.
@ Sandra, did you make through the night. Are still alive? : - )
Post something to let me know you are okay??? LOL
Somebod tell that old man to go sit down somewhere….
@TeddyGramz
Who are you trying to convince?
@Krysi J
girl you betta tell em….shut em down
@Sandra I know you have heard by now that Frank Ski called you messy this am..lol I know you have some 411 on him so he best to keep quiet..lol
@Teddy In general outside this convo NY rappers HATE (a word I do not like I might add) on Southern rappers WAY more than southern rappers hate on NY rappers. Much shade was thrown at the snapping music when it hit the scene and it wasnt by southerners..lol The snapping era has come and gone and that is fine by me it was fun while it lasted as far as partying goes. I LOVE both NY and Southern rappers and they both have some WACK artist as well.
Anybody in the ATL know about all these day parties popping up this summer?
Daisy Says:

Lol, as sexy as I find him I have to agree with this statement.
But.
Isn’t that true for you as well and the majority of America shoot the world for that matter.
@ topic I tried to listen but the song was removed. I will search it later tonight but its Jigga so I’m sure its hot.
& to all the people finding this a way to take cheap stabs at Beyonce, lol. She does not use autotone to the point her career would suffer. Please someone pull my coat on what song(s) she used it on cause I’m stumped.
Sigh, it wasn’t about Beyonce using autotune it was the line in the song when he was talking about blond hair and a fat azz. This is not how a man talks about his wife, especially a 40 year old man
@Krysi J
whats up yo…b….son….lol
Krysi J I wish I was here to back you up…this would have killed them all girl..all you had to say was the following: People had to die for JAYZ to live, rap, breathe…Jayz was a NOBODY when BIG & PAC was ALIVE **** even METHODMAN…JAYZ had to start saying other people Sh@t..then he got hot..i remember I was there…lol..jayz was a wannabe das effect rapping, hawaii 5-0 shirt wearing wannabe! Point blank he had to go back to the drawing board over and over
@ Teddy, fall back dude….how da hell you gon say some shyt like southeners are the worst haters and turn around to hate on Wayne?? GTFOH! Everybody on here talking sidewayz, wanna give Wayne fake azz props and then try to take away from his gift by saying someone else ghost wrote some shyt for him from philly. Wayne was the shyt when he was 12 years old spitting for HOT BOYZ…you trying to take that from him??? THATS WHAT DA FUKK YOU CALL HATE. Fukk JAY Z, Nas shut his tired azz down YEARS ago ANYWAY…FUKK THE NORTH, cause the SOUTH getting MONEY ON YALL AZZEZ….and who gives a FUKK about who don’t agree!
like the NY say it
“WE IN HERE!”
bytch.
Jay Z was a nobody when Big was alive? Humm, wasn’t Big in Jay’s Video?, Wasn’t it Biggie writing for Kim and Jay writing for Foxx Boggie at the same time, Didn’t Jay and Big do a song together.
& if he had to become who he was after Big died. What’s wrong with filling the shoes of a king? Method (& I loveeee him) is best on other people songs. His albums as a whole are not great. DMX is a great rapper but he has/had a serious drug problem. IF Jay wasn’t as great as he is or as some of you want to give him props for he would’ve never been able to live up to and succeed his predecessors. I’m not saying he’s the greatest but he damn sure is up in ranks. & a great business man I might add. & a positive black man according to how this site shyts on them all the time.
With his sexy ass…
@Krysi J
whats up yo…b….son….lol

what up gurl… I hope I didn’t offend you, but its always some shyt to be said about SOMETHING….who da hell do dis niccah think he iz? The CREATOR of rap, whoever said there were rules to dis shyt….JAY Z ain nothing but a BIG copycat who lucked up when he got SHOT….didn’t nobody give a fukk bout his SWAG before then. Niggahs always on that man dyck….this should be a FEMALE conversation ONLY….whose dyck is bigger…Teddy cuz you act like you know? Cut dat shyt out.
i’ll be looking forward to jay’s cd. it’s not much hip hop that i buy these days. i can’t get with the stankey leg, the ricky bobby, and the halle berry. i’m feeling drake, rick ross, t.i., kanye, luda, jeezy, jay…some folks that’s talking bout some isht! this new generation of “hip hop” is for the birds!
& if he had to become who he was after Big died. What’s wrong with filling the shoes of a king?
———————————————————-
You mean the same way Wayne has been in videos with Jay, or the same way Jay and Wayne did a song together…..Oh yea well you’re right then , there is nothing wrong with filling the shoes of a king
UNLESS PEOPLE HATE ON YOU CUZ YOU ARE FROM THE SOUTH, and in their opinion unWORTHY of this position.
oh, i forgot about wayne….i’m feeling him too! and i like redman & method man’s new cd too.
The difference is ain nobody have to die, for Wayne to take over…….HE JUST TOOK da fukk OVER.
LOL I was waiting on somebody to say Jay only really blew up once Biggie died..lol I knew Ice would find a way to defend her man as well..lol
Jay had a little shine but had BIG not died not sure he would be where he is today simple as that. Its not his fault so I dont hold that against him.
@Kat that is because its NOT hip hop its rap there is a difference.
Jay Z was somewhat of a 3rd tier when Big was alive. I remember when Reasonable Doubt came out, I love that album but a lot of my friends didn’t really care for him. Everyone was on Big, Method Man, etc, Then Hard Knock Life Vol 2 came out (no one cared for 1 including me) then people started jockin Jay Z.
I admit I don’t like southern rappers, Step n fetch it is not what I call entertainment
@Krysi YOU BETTER SAY THAT!..lol
Agree with a lot of people and disagree. The reason the south is on top right now is because of CEOs of labels. When something is hot they drown us in it till we hate it remember when West Coast was on top? I agree sales don’t mean **** Nasir (great rapper but can’t pick beats to save his life) doesn’t sell neither do Common, Mos Def, etc. Kids dominate sales and they follow peer pressure and buy what erryone says is hot. Every style of music has its Golden Age and sad to say raps was 80’s early 90s. I feel you Krysi on the dialect and slang being annoying thats how I feel bout most southern rap. But I would never say judge the music on accent or slang I judge the flow and beat etc. The only thing hot right now period is mixtapes. And the South’s and Tpains reign is over as soon as ONE person with a different style blows up. Then the industry will only promote and radio will only play that style/region.
@iscream
Girl boo Tical top ten best Rap albums of all time…wu tang enter the 36 chambers..remember that…**** i do you two better ODB and Cappadonna first albums both better than resonable doubt…yall found that after the fact…nobody bought that sh@t when it came out
*scrolling back up to see what in da hell got Krysi saying Fuk the north*
I guess I missed some stuff in this post.
Okay, its monday so I’ll just say this. I spent the weekend downloading some of my favorite songs of the 90’s and it inc artist from the north and south.
Everybody get your roll on.
Back that ass up. (& said that Wayne Part was small but the best)
The whisper song
Get Low
Some Kwame songs
Anything (jigga)
Hard knock life
Get money the remix (you can be as good as the best of them but as bad as the worst. Don’t test me you better move over)
Anyway I say that to say I don’t think music has died down because of the place it comes from. It just sucks in general. Not even auto tune killed it because I like some a lot actually, of T Pains music. Its just over used now. But who am I? I’m not a head of a record company that dist this garbage now a days. We need to start writing some letters to them telling them
I WANT MY MTV, lol.
**Burner at the side of your dome, come outta my throne

Look most of the people from the south are FANS of
Jeezy, Wayne, TIP, Rick Ross (for his raps, not his fakeness), Trick Daddy, Plies, lil boosie, webbie, and Brisco
We don’t cop shyt from
Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, Superstar, D4L, white T’s (or whatever their names were), lil Bow Wow, Gucci Mane, Ricky Bobby (or whatever the name is), etc….
NOW we may listen to it, and do a dance or two in the club when we get on dat liquor….but we sure as hell don’t buy tha shyt unless we are 12 years old with nothing else better to do with a McDonald’s paycheck!! Did yall cop every piece of stupid shyt that came outta NY….NO! Well its the same for the SOUTh….half of the time we are looking at the TV in amazement….cuz these lil niccahs get voted #1 on 106 and Park, then on half the radio stations…..get #1 singles on the hot 100….and we’re like WTH, I can’t believe people like dat shyt!!!??
And we never had beef regionally….I love Cali music, midwest, I just can’t stand NY’s dialect….shyt I can’t help it, I just DON’T like it! When have you ever heard of beef between Cali and the south, Midwest and the south…NEVA BYTCH, but you always hear about NY beefing with somebody who making more money than them!! ALWAYS! (east vs west…yea memba dat!…we sure azz hell didn’t count for the east cuz I was riding with Tupac on yall azzes!)
Of course there was no southern-Cali beef. Cali has been off the national radar for awhile now with the exception of Snoop. There is no north vs south beef actually, in the north they play the same minstrel mess from the south that you guys do. There will be no beefs b/c Clear channel owns all the radio stations and play the same thing all over the country, there is no regional music anymore, only on the underground.
Me personally out of NYC I like NAS, & Methodman, RZA & GZA…if you anit saying nothing I cant get with it..as far as south I’m gonna ride with……Wayne (sometimes I cant get with the ignorant sid eof him) Outkast, & TI…that’s it…I dont like Rick Ross so I cant support him. I like the Clispe cant leave them out.
@Wiggy Nasir has had several HAWT tracks you got that twisted and I have always felt when Nas tried to go commerical people DOGGED him out and not all the songs were WACK IMO. So his fan base didnt want him to crossover.
Yes Nas KILLED Jay Z in the battle/beef. Even Dame who at the time was on Jayz nutsac admitted that..lol I was like HE SLAYED YOU SON!!!!!!!!!
I draw the line here Krysi..lol Plies, lil boosie, webbie, and Brisco NO MA AM to ALL of them..lol
Uhm East coast vs west coast beef was a hype by the media. & southern rappers beef with each other. Wasn’t TI beefing with that Lepercan guy a few years ago.
Great rappers to me come from all parts. And they all have their good and bad. Cause yall can quote all the Nas you want but he has put out some garbage ass albums. Oocchie coochie and that era was wack to me.
@ Krysi being from FL how do you feel about Trina? I think her first album is classic. I can rock it front to back some may not agree.
Daisy Says:
Yes Nas KILLED Jay Z in the battle/beef. Even Dame who at the time was on Jayz nutsac admitted that..lol I was like HE SLAYED YOU SON!!!!!!!!!
*********************************************
Jay Z was never able to fully recover lyrically from that public execution by Nas. His entire catalog can be categorized as BS (BEFORE SLAYING) and AS (AFTER SLAYING).
@ Fly
Nas may have killed Jay. But it was President Carter who revived Nas Career.
So as the saying goes be careful of who you screw on your way up because its the same ass you’ll be kissing on your way down.
& I like a few of Plies songs. The one with t pain & the one with ne yo.
@iscream
and Nas helped bury what was let of Jayz career…lol..you cant debate it…nas ethered that ni@@a….lol
Jay Z was never able to fully recover lyrically from that public execution by Nas. His entire catalog can be categorized as BS (BEFORE SLAYING) and AS (AFTER SLAYING).
lol sandra….yes…yes…yes
Daisy don’t get it twisted i love nas Illmatic top ten rap of all time easy but after illmatic he is mos def hit or miss. I agree he did ripped Jay but in the long run Jay came out on top. Like in the 80’s remember everyone used to be like who’s better MJ or Prince? Thriller won that battle but Prince won the war.
@iscream
girl ima leave your baby daddy alone…lol…have a good day
@wiggy2272003
naw this is like Mohammad Ali and Joe Frazier….obviously Ali won the fight..but Frazier won the War…lol..
Plies, lil boosie, webbie, and Brisco NO MA AM to ALL of them..lol
————————————————–
lol, WELL HEY I can understand that Daisy….but I love dem niccahS
@ Krysi being from FL how do you feel about Trina? I think her first album is classic. I can rock it front to back some may not agree.
—————————————————–
Now, Isc….LOL, you already know how I feel about Trina…LMAO….but I LUUUUUUUUUUVED the first album…If she could ever come back like that….I would cop her shyt….I fell for the Glamorest life or whatever it was called that one year….I thought she was back on her A game when she hooked up with Wayne and did “Don’t Trip”….but alas….fooled A-Gain. I can’t fukk wit her anymore….her lyrical content is garbage…I can’t support an artist i can’t quote…LOL!
Krysi J says:
I can’t support an artist i can’t quote
lol…thats a good one…Trina said cheerleader skirt, throwback skirt on every track she was on..it was over from then on
@ Krysi… its stops for me after the first CD Da Baddiest B*tch.
I like how you all summed up the Nas, Jay drama. He won the battle but lost the war. Love that.
lol…thats a good one…Trina said cheerleader skirt, throwback skirt on every track she was on..it was over from then on
—————————————–
WOW, you just threw me Fly, cause I thought I was the only person who cringed when she kept saying dat shyt!! Thats crazy….I think that line alone killed her entire career.
Aye and can I go on record to say….Tupac won the battle and the war……???
Im just saying LOL….while we on da subject…lol!
I’m gonna go on the record and SECOND that..krysij..
Since I am from the east coast NY @ that I’m a leave that Tupac comment alone.
Esp since he was never viewed as the greatest rapper until he started beefing with someone who was. & I guess he was mad that biggie BLEW UP after he slept on Pac’s couch.
I wonder if that’s where 50 got his pick a fight to blow up tactic from?
But I’m not going there, lol.
I missed the memo about Tupac winning a battle
with a 21 gun salute!
I dont give a DAMN who won the war or battle I just know that KNEE GROW SLAYED HIS AZZ and Jay NEVER saw it coming. People were talking mad smack that Nas was toast he dont want none of jay all that jazz..lol Oh and that was a SICK track as well Wiggy. WHEN DA HELL did Jay Z revive NAS career? I missed that memo. I am a NASIR STAN I have all his cds he was and is the SHYT with or WITHOUT Jay Z PLEASE BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!
@Krysi Plies sounds so DUMB and IGNORANT I can’t deal with his FLOW yet he is college educated and very well spoken in real life can’t co sign that foolishness..lol Alot of ppl do like him though so you are not alone.
I didnt say NAS lost the war…u guys must mean monetary
Plies be talking some serious sh@t…i wonder do he really “give it” like that
jay said auto tune should be dead from this point forward it had its run let it go with everybody trying to do it its one thing for tpain cause thats his thing and wayne and kanye came and did it well but its a wrap now. and yes at summer jam last night tpain was on the stage with jay as jay did this song so if tpain can rock with auto tune being dead and he brought it back out then it shouldnt be an issue
ho hum….*listening to my keyshia cole “a different me” cd”…..
“u just know, it’s gonna take more than 1 drink to get me home, i know u didn’t ask but i thought u should know, it ain’t that easy, i’m not that easy to go, thought u should know!”
that’s my jam!
Esp since he was never viewed as the greatest rapper until he started beefing with someone who was. & I guess he was mad that biggie BLEW UP after he slept on Pac’s couch.
———————————————————
WTF……???!!!
you know what….Imma blow off some steam, and come back later for that…..hold up, HELL NAW!
He wasn’t considered a great rapper until he started beefing with WHO?? WHO THE HELL WAS BIGGIE, before tupac was a GREAT??? I didn’t even know that dude when I was listening to “Keep ya head up”, or “Brenda’s got a baby”….you on some otha shyt! I started liking Biggie when he did “Ready to Die”….Tupac was already on album #2 or even 3 by then homiE….??? Then he went to Cali and dropped All Eyez on Me…and killed everybody in the RAP GAME! Man, PLEASE this shyt will go on FOREVA!
Plies be talking some serious sh@t…i wonder do he really “give it” like that
———————————————–
GURRRRrrrrl U TOO!……..he TOO much on dem tracks…he better hope nobody don’t rape his azz like they did DMX…LMAO!!!
—my bad, my bad….that ain funny….*looking at fly bout to burst out laughing*
@Kat I thought I was the only one who liked that CD..lol
@East thanks for clearing that up for us..LOL
Here’s my take on big/pac debate. If someone has been out for many years has maanny albums and you put out ONE album and people are debating which one is the GOAT the answer seems clear to me.
I dont think either are the GOAT! How bout that..lol
@ Daisy I really don’t either but I just think Tupac is one of the most overrated artist ever. I agree with the poster about his fame being more about his life and looks outside the studio. He’s a good rapper at most. I think there is a GOAT.
oh and being from NY I luvs me some Big. He just represents NY to me so does Tracy Morgan. I know him. Not know him but mad dudes like him
oops meant to say I DON’T think there is a GOAT
@daisy
you’re welcome :0)
I dont know why everyone trying to explain how great Jay is .. Some People in the south will NEVER understand our music (up north/east coast) music. In Sandra eyes Rocko is the best rapper of all time- get real. I am not saying the south dont have any good rappers -there is luda, ti and outcast- and maybe rick ross but everyone else is pure garbage.. Just the other day i was talking to this dude asking him who the best female rapper is (NAW THIS NICCA DIDNT SAY TRINA) I laughed my @ss off- and he was dead serious…
Sandra trynna start that east coast south coast beef-lmao no sir
SMH…………I’m good on TUPAC, yall can have that.
I have no more words for that conversation, cuz I’ll take back all that shyt I said about BIG before I know it, and say the hell with him too….so yall have a GOAT, and we Tupac Stans have OURs, but please believe its based off lyrical content, the fact that he looked WAAAAaaaay better than BIG was just a perk.
@ sandra post #86- that is true that Nas killed Jay lyrically because Nas is a better rapper- but the bottom line is Nas is broke and jay still making money after all these years..wow
Nas killed Jay lyrically because Nas is a better rapper- but the bottom line is Nas is broke and jay still making money after all these years
———————————————————
I guess thats what NY meant earlier in this post about “Numbers do not equal talent”….LMAO!
Jay/Nas I wouldn’t say the war was won by Jay because of money more of would Nas sell out the large venues worldwide like Jay does? And simply who is more relevant today in the game?
If people are still buying music that features auto tune then musicians will still use it. Its all about consumers, producers make what the people want. I am tired of auto tune but at the same time, why deprive others they type of music they like? Jay should just sit down because he jumps on bandwagons, how about he makes a song regarding uplifting things or something that will help his people being that he has so much influence. I honestly believe this album will not do well because people are bored of Jay Z now.
@Krysi J
i know girl everytime he flow I be like “i wanna turn the station but I cant” Ima be mad if he cant walk the walk…but we havent read otherwise….
@kdillion
lol thats exactly why hot 97 premiered this song for like an hour straight and people was still calling to hear it again and how this song was immediately available across the internet yeah i think folks bored of him lol
@eastpointvet
But thats not the entire scope of people who purchase music, where is hot 97 located??? Here in L.A. its not banging like that…..
@kdillon
jAYZ MAKE UPLIFTING MUSIC???? Yeah dont hold your breathe on that one….
@ Kdillon I’m curious being that LA isn’t the south What is banging in LA? I am not being funny just curious
i know girl everytime he flow I be like “i wanna turn the station but I cant” Ima be mad if he cant walk the walk…but we havent read otherwise….
———————————————————
you right, so far so good I guess….maybe one of those groupies will come forward with the scoop some day…LOL!
@eastpoint, please don’t let ah NY station (hot 97) fool you….trust me people are bored (like they are bored with Ciara’s Fantasy Ride, maybe thats why he wants her on tour with him). Let him drop the album and we’ll based that assumption on NUMBERs.
@krysi
he gonna do numbers because he has a fan base thats why he can tour he got like 15 albums and a large catalog of hits and its just not hot 97 they where just the first people with the song twitter was blazing and the song was across all websites within an hour of them playing it some stations was even playing it with the hot 97 tags until they got a clean rip of it
@Wiggy
LOL!
L.A. is pretty versatile, right now its alot of Wayne, Wale, TPain, etc. I miss the days of West Coast Rap dominating the stations but its been a slow period. Jay isnt in heavy rotation over here….Even when AG released I only heard about 1-2 songs played every once and a while
@Krysi
I dont believe #’s either, #’s do lie!
he gonna do numbers because he has a fan base thats why he can tour he got like 15 albums and a large catalog of hits
———————————————————
Yea but will he sell ah “Milli”….or even 800,000 the first week? And I didn’t hear the song on the radio…didn’t know shyt about it until Sandra posted it….matter fact I still ain listened to it, cause the post is titled New Music: Jay Z….that was enuff I don’t even wanna know what it sound like.
I dont believe #’s either, #’s do lie!
—————————————-
well you know that was what everybody used in Jay’s defense when I compared his sales to Waynes….so now that you have spoken on Nas being a better rapper than Jay, except Jay makes more money/ sells more records….I was just saying that I guess Numbers don’t equal talent like NY said. Cuz ya boy sold more but Nas is a better rapper ….that quote “Numbers don’t lie” just keeps biting in that NY azz I tell ya…LOL!
the top 10 best rappers of ALL TIMES:
1) TUPAC all day every day
and now in no particular order:
2) Scarface
3) Big Daddy Kane
4) Jay Z
5) Biggie
6) Andre 3000
7) Lil Wayne
8) Nas
9) Kool G Rap
10) Rakim
and special shout outs to Eminem, Big Pun & Big L (R.I.P.), LL Cool J, Chuck D & Ice Cube
if you gonna compare numbers you compare the whole catalog and wayne doesnt halfway compare sure wayne sold a mill the first week thats nice eminem sold 2.4 million in a week and wayne biggest album is 3 million with selling a million the first week jay biggest album is 6 million sold. and i like wayne dont get me wrong but u cant only compare 1 week sales if you gonna compare numbers and wayne albums sold as a whole is half of jays.
go Kat for mentioning KoolGRap, one of the most underated ever. Adding to the list of underated Big Pun, Busta,Don’t forget Lboogie,and Kane and the most glaring omission is GrandPuba. Also loves me some EPMD.
I’ll let you have the Pac. I stated my peace on that. To each his own.Realy no point in arguing cuz ain’t nobody on here gonna change no body’s mind. You are either Big or Pac for life.
if you gonna compare numbers you compare the whole catalog
——————————————————–
naw nah, what somebody said earlier about BIG and PAC, the difference is Wayne dropped less albums than Jay Z and he’s alredy being called the BEST RAPPER ALIVE, its like more talent but less work…..LOL!
NY keep saying this shyt, so Im just giving it back to yall.
Nas is not broke and at the end of the day Wayne sold a milli in a week and Jay HAS not! Simple as that we were talking numbers NOT catalogs and again plenty of non talent do numbers as well so I am not big on numbers of CDs sold to define an artist but wayne did takeover when he dropped that cd and he has a catalog a well. He aint an overnight success. I am not the biggest wayne or jay fan. They have both had HAWT and WACK songs..lol
@krysi co sign and HIGH FIVE!!!!!!!!
naw nah, what somebody said earlier about BIG and PAC, the difference is Wayne dropped less albums than Jay Z and he’s alredy being called the BEST RAPPER ALIVE, its like more talent but less work…..LOL!
———————————————————-
not quite the same weren’t y’all just arguing he’s been out since he was 12? So at least ten year career against a longer career not quite the same as one album versus five or six
not quite the same weren’t y’all just arguing he’s been out since he was 12? So at least ten year career against a longer career not quite the same as one album versus five or six
——————————————————-
Oh hell yeah so you want to compare all the HOT BOYZ album sells combined with Wayne’s against Jay Z’s…LMAO, cuz we damn sho’ll CAN!!
if you count Jay on Jaz-o’s, stay focused not quite the same as Pacs 5 or 6 SOLO joints to Bigs ONE solo joint….
if you count Jay on Jaz-o’s, stay focused not quite the same as Pacs 5 or 6 SOLO joints to Bigs ONE solo joint….
——————————————————–
naw this is you trying to take credit from Wayne yet again…even after you came up with the idea of Pac having all these albums against BIG having one and rivaling Pac as a GREAT…all I did was say the same for Wayne and his catalog compared to Jay Z’s….yes he has sold less, because he has only dropped 4 albums solo…Jay Z has how many…..yet Wayne is already considered the best rapper alive in a shorter amount of time….hint: Jay Z will be 40 this year babe, Wayne will be 27?? GOT it?? Yes he has been a rapper since age 12, but he was in a GROUP! It only took 3 albums solo for him to become a GREAT… he was already considered the BEst Rapper Alive after The Carter II, the dedication I & II mixtapes….the Carter III was just a bonus! Anywho…it iz what it iz….thanks for the amo…it really helped me prove my points.
“he was considered the best rapper alive after ….”
By Some.
Some consider Jay. Some somebody else.
You see although it’s been fun going back and forth with you (i love a good debate) we could go on and on forever because its objective. Neither one of us could ever “win” You proved a good point with Wayne having less albums than Jay. I still don’t think it compares to being considered by many the GOAT after your ONE DEBUT album but apparently you do. So lets just agree to disagree. And as far as your beef with NY put it like this You give birth to a baby, teach him all you know and he goes and flips and turns around and trys to diss you. NOIMEAN lol
oops meant to say subjective not objective
I hear ya, but the SOUTH didn’t diss NY, NY dissed the SOUTH…they didn’t think our craft was worthy of rap or HIP HOP…..Why would we diss NY, I mean we can go without coping their shyt silently (like we always have becuz truth be told the south pretty much lived off underground southern rap and Tupac, while NY was getting #1’s on billboard)….we would give them their props, give them their respect for being discovered in NY first as rappers and founding it there…and when they dropped, we simply didn’t buy that shyt. They have to talk about how HIP HOP is dead now, we’re so simple, country, ignorant, talentless…was hip hop dead when the West coast had Tupac, snoop, and Dre?? Was hip hop dead when Nelly nem took over…naw just when the south started making club music. NY disregarded every MC in the bottom..as if we don’t have Jeezy, Wayne, Tip, UGK, 8ball & MJG, Outkast, Luda…etc. We don’t classify NY as all “Chicken Noodle Soup” artist, but thats how they see the south. We have a variety of HIP HOP to purchase, NY is not our only option….but we get dissed because of that??? Why?
Anyway, yea the debate was cool…I did a little debating in High School LMAO, I guess thats why I could go on for days in any of these posts…but I agree to disagree.
