I’m posting this for those of you who continue to insist that ObamaCare is only for those who don’t have insurance coverage. Obama’s bill will affect those who have their own insurance coverage as well.
This an excerpt from the infamous Page 16 in the Health Care Reform bill that covers “Grandfathered Health Care Coverage”.
Pay strict attention to section (1) LIMITATION ON NEW ENROLLMENT:
(A) IN GENERAL.—Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1.
This is VERY important because it means that you can not sign up for private health insurance AFTER the date this bill is signed into law! This bill is not only for those who don’t have health insurance. This bill will affect you if you should lose your health insurance.
You will have no other options available to you other than Obama’s government-run health care.
Remember when Obama told a woman that her mother should just take a painkiller rather than have surgery to prolong her life? This will happen to you under Obama’s new bill. And you will have no other option available to you.
For instance, if you are 45-years-old, newly diagnosed with cancer and you require expensive treatments or surgery that will extend your life an extra 5 years, your surgery will be denied on the grounds that it will not be cost effective to pay for expensive surgery so you can live another 5 more years.
Your quality of life is not important to Obama. Giving you another 5 years to spend with your children and loved ones is not important to Obama. You will be given other alternative treatment options — including hospice/euthanasia — and you will die in 6 months.
ObamaCare is a disguised form of Population Control.
Obama will not tell you this so you have to educate yourselves. Do your research!
Once again, here is the link to read the bill for yourself
http://edlabor.house.gov/documents/111/pdf/publications/AAHCA-BillText-071409.pdf
Educate yourselves so you don’t fall in between the cracks. A mind is a terrible thing to waste!
My son is out of the hospital. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
@Ana, thanks for calling me. That was a pleasant surprise.

Sidebar: Thank God of health insurance. : – ) Shout out to all the nurses (except one)and doctors at Scottish Rite Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Shout out to all the sick children and their parents admitted at the hospital.
Thanks to all of you that prayed for me and my son. And thanks to Sandra for approving my updates.
I posted this in the other post from the dentist.. But will repost it here hopefully someone can answer. & thanks for the link Sandra I will read it this wkend…
If anyone can answer please help me to understand. I will be the first to admit that this whole Healthcare plan is confusing to me. (Especially the part about taxing me for having healthcare. That makes me want to cancel it not keep it. 200.00 dollars a month is a lot to me. A single mother.)
*******************
If Obama had his way and his healthcare plan was passed how would this help this man’s son in law since they already have healthcare?
& I’m not sure how it works in other states but here in NY they have healthplus, child healthplus and a few other free or low cost health plans for working people who can’t afford it. Why can’t his employees apply for one of those?
These are serious questions so please don’t attack. I’m trying to understand.
Isc wat it is if u make a certain amt of money (they will not tell u how much til they deny u)u do not qualigy for public hlth asst here in Ga they have what is called peachcare 4 kids and for a family of 2 u have to make minumum wage or lower to qualify. What Obama is proposing is dat he will raise slightly da guidelines and give people who pay a lrg amt for ins a slight discount. It makes it a little easier but its not foolproof. It’s going to cost alot of money and I don’t understand the whole thing but like u I’m going to read up on it dis weekend. And what Sandra is saying happens now, u can only sign up for ins on most jobs during “open season” or a life changing event(marriage, divorce…). Also I don’t think it will effect u if u already hv coverage thru ur employer but I think it da cost might go up some.
Sandra I’m like icscream and I really dont think I understand everything fully. From what I do understand though this is being voted on by people that really won’t have to worry about health insurance issues. If we can’t vote for or against it as citizens what can we do stop it or voice our opposal to it.
THANK YOU for this post Sandra.
I have not read the entire bill…I’m still working through it. Honestly, I haven’t read a LOT of it. Still common sense is, “don’t sign until you’ve read everything”.
Obama was trying to push this through before anyone read anything. Right there should be a red flag. The consequences of this bill go far beyond providing health insurance for those who don’t have it.
@AttyMom
Good to see your comment. Stay Strong.
Thanks guys. Glad I’m not the only one scratching my head, while having my hands tied behind my back.
I use to have healthplus but once I started working for the state they told me I no longer could apply bc I could get healthcare thru my job. Now mind you I’ve always had this option but opted out because it was cheaper with healthplus. (& since I’m not a sickly person who goes to doctor often it made sense). So anyway in a matter of two weeks I went from paying 9 dollars a month to 200.00 dollars a month. That was a pocket shock for me. Now that I’ve finally adjusted to ditching out the extra money I now may have to pay more????? That really hurts.

Exactly! The people who will vote on this bill (Congress) don’t have to worry about being covered under this bill. They can KEEP their cadillac insurance plans. But once this bill is signed into law, if you lose your private insurance you will not be allowed to sign up with another private insurance carrier. It says so clearly in the excerpt I posted. But would you believe morons are emailing me asking me WHERE it says that?

I am glad Andrew is out the hospital. Sorry about my cell phone. It was in my desk drawer at work “roaming” all day so by the time I called you it needed to be charged. I pray for a speedy recovery for your mom & your sis-in-law. Get some rest.
Funny how Congress and the Senate, as well as the President of course, is exempt from this foolishness nicknamed health care ‘reform’…..
For those who don’t know what “Y1” means:
Therefore, if you don’t have insurance after Y1 (2013), no insurance carrier can sign you up for insurance after that date. You will have to sign up for ObamaCare. This proves that obama is shady because he said you could keep your insurance but he doesn’t tell you that you can’t get private insurance after 2013 if you lose or drop your insurance.

I am going to play favortisim here. I think all the ppl who voted for Obama should get the same health care as Our First Lady and our First Daughters. LOL.
The details of the plan are still being worked out I worked for health ins companies for Zyrs if u really think they are going to sit back and not allow new members which is their bread and butter from not enrolling then I have a bridge n BK I want to sell u lol they are greedy and half the reason we never had healthcare reform already.
Sandra I do my research I don’t need your biased opinion I already know where u stand and I am in the middle or rather on the fence I believe in healhtcare reform and I want that donw n the most effiecnt and effiecent way
@whoever wants the same coverage as Obama and his family that wld be govt run lol
Is Obamacare like Medicade? What is the advantage/disadvantage of having it? Are there co pays? Is it free? How do doctors get paid? Will Dr favor one over the other the way they do Medicade and Private insurance?
So many questions
Calgone take me awayyyyyy!!!!!

Exactly. If you read the health care bill, it clearly says that members of Congress are exempt from being covered under this bill. Why is that?
Ice nothing is free in life anymore wish it were lol
We have never and will never have the same coverge as congress and the Prez right wrong or indifferent
Not even going to comment on this BS poulltion control theory

It clearly says in the excerpt I posted from the health care bill that insurance companies can’t sign new enrollees after Y1 (2013). If the government passes a law that says the insurance companies can’t cover you after this bill is signed, then they can’t cover you. So if insurance companies can’t sign up new enrollees then they will be run out of business. Did you even read the excerpt from the bill that I posted above? Or are you comfortable burying your head in the sand?
@whoever wants the same coverage as Obama and his family that wld be govt run lol

I am thinking Gov run or not I am sure there are some extra purks.
@anna of course their are lol money talks
Sandra I did not read your response we will agree to disagree that will be all please and thank you
Why am I working again? (That was a joke)
Is reform the same as universal healthcare Daisy? (If you pop back in)
This bill is laughable to me! I think it is designed to be misunderstood. The question I pose is how likely is it that this bill will pass?

They tried so hard to get this to pass before they went on their August recess. I figured since it did not happen what are the odds it will go through. Now we the ppl get to know more of what it’s about we don’t like it. My assistant at work got a email from his brother last week about what Sandra posted with Cancer paitents. It basically stated that not all cancer paitents will be treated. They are going to pick and choose who lives and who dies. I was trying to tell hubby that if his job folds or he loses his job that if we don’t sign up under Obama’s plan by a certain time we will be uninsurable. He thinks we will not be affected, yea right. I also read that under this plan abortions will be paid for. This is a population control Health plan and I don’t think we should stand idled. Most states have their own health plan for the uninsured besides medicade. If our President wants everyone to be insured why does it have to be so controlled? I still want to make my own choices and should not have to wait to see a doctor. My doc of 20+ yrs has always squeezed me in for a appt. When my ex is not working there is no ins and my doc would give me the free samples instead of just handing me a RX that I would have to pay full price for. This is America, where is my freedom of choice?
Oh Lawd, Sandra. I don’t comment anymore b/c I loved this blog as an entertainment/gossip blog. All of this opinionated I hate Obama stuff is crazy. Anyway, you have to read carefully. What this specific paragraph is referring to is “grandfathered” coverage. So, what this is saying is you will not be able to enroll in any plan that was offered prior to Y1. It does not mean that you will never again be able to enroll into a private insurance plan. Specifically “..the individual health insurance issuer offering SUCH (emphasis added) coverage does not enroll any individual in SUCH coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1.” SUCH coverage references the term “Grandfathered health insurance coverage” detailed in paragraph A. In other words, the insurance company can’t use old plans after Y1. This is because the reform is calling for private insurers to meet or beat the minimum standards offered by the government. If you want to read and interpret law or bills, you may want to get a legal education, first. LOL Geesh!
But wait, if you have cancer NOW you won’t always get care. My coworker’s husband has lymphoma and she told him he better not ever leave his job because he won’t ever be insured again.
Pre-existing condition…
Thank you Keish and Seatle and everything being proposed will not get passed and some ppl don’t want to see anything fixed or reformed as it relates to healthcare and that isn’t right either the system does need to be fixed IMO
