Hi Sandra,

I have decided to stop drinking the Obama kool-aid. I am presently unemployed with no health insurance. It has been a tremendous struggle and “hope” is not paying my bills. This was the first year in many years that I had to cancel our family vacation. Long story short, we just couldn’t afford it. Unfortunately, many of the families in my suburban neighborhood also decided not to travel to expensive locales. So what does Obama do? Spends over $50,000 a week just for LODGING on Martha’s Vineyard.

Many people would love that to be their yearly salary right about now! This is beyond acceptable behavior from a president during a recession. And even if he wanted to personally “stimulate” the economy with his lavish trips, why go to a place with a population of 2% African American? Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, etc. were all cities that he promised change. What the hell did he promise Martha’s Vineyard?

Why stop there…..why should i go on lavish vacation if u can’t. Why should anybody go a lavish vacation because the next person can’t….bull Some people couldn’t go vacations when the economy was at its peak, when things were great….so how about i welcome you to the club of people who just can’t afford to go vacations. If u can afford it…do it. Live it up and have a good time. Don’t let anybody make u feel bad cuz you can afford. And hope ain’t paying the bills, but neither is wining, and complaining….

yeah this email is ridiculous! when i was uemployed, i couldn’t do/buy a lot of things but i didn’t think it was wrong for other folks to keep living their lives. it made me want to work smarter when i was employed again, save more for a rainy day, and extend my education so i could get better-paying jobs…i wonder if “warmly” is mad at Pres. Bush for getting our country in all this debt in the first place…?!

Obama had money before he became President. We didn’t just find some unemployed broke ass to become the President. How he chooses to spend his own money isn’t anyones business. If cancelling a annual vacation is the biggest hardship this writer has he/she is doing better than most Americans.

These are some funny comments. I didn’t even notice the “warmly”, I never heard it before. Note to self: Never send Sandra a email. Sandra your loyal readers are so glad you shared that. If I lost my job the first thing on my mind would not be the vacation I lost. I would consider my unemployment a staycation and pray that I still have a roof over my head in the “burbs”.

hmmm, CNN did a wonderful little segment on the history of Martha’s Vineyard and African Americans. It appears that there are African American families that have been living there for years. They are the reason Martha’s Vineyard is what it is today.

I guess the money that Braydon can’t spend on vacation should be put towards buying books or other educational tools that would increase his knowledge…hell maybe Brat-Lon should go back to school and add a agree on to the one(s) that he already has (hoping more than a GED) and get a better paying job so shim can do all of the luxurious things that normal struggling people can only dream about doing…

I’m having a hard time with this one. So it’s Obama’s fault you can’t go on vacation. I understand people are going through difficult time, but what they fail to realize is that this country didn’t just get F’d up over nite, so it’s not gonna just sort out over nite.

i wont be too harsh on braylon, but i hate that it took him to lose all he had and grew accustomed to – to pay attn to anything. what I gathered is he’d still be an Obama supporter had his situation not changed for the negative.

Dont be fairweather; support Obama while riding with ya bus pass or ur top of the line benz, or not. first year or not, i still dont believe he knows what the hell he’s doing. and the economy, thank God, hasn’t altered my lifestyle at all.

its common knowledge black people support or stand behind obama because he looks like us. john mccain doing the exact same thing at this time time would not. whatever though. dude got 3 years to go. and no, there will not be a second term.
