Police Seek Man After Wife, 5 Children Found Dead in Florida
Police in Naples, Florida found six people dead in a home, including 5 young children, after responding to a missing person’s report on Saturday (9/19).
Mesac Damas, 33, the husband of the deceased woman and the father of the 5 children, is being sought for questioning. According to online reports, Damas boarded a flight early Friday morning bound for Haiti.
The suspect’s father Jean Damas Sr., called police to say Damas telephoned his brother in Haiti where he has other family members. Capt. Chris Roberts of the Naples police dept. said local authorities are working with Haitian officials to extradite Damas from Haiti, but any extradition would take time.
A family member told the media the children’s throats were slit. The bodies of Guerline Damas, her 3 boys and 2 girls were found around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in an apartment in a gated community in the 800 block of Hampton Circle in North Naples.
School officials left an automated message on the couple’s voicemail after it was discovered that the three boys were absent from school on Friday.
A family member filed a missing person’s report Friday after Guerline Damas failed to show up to work at Publix.
On Friday morning, store employees reached her husband on his cell phone. Mesac told them his wife was sick and on the way to the hospital.
Police believe Damas was at Miami International airport when he took that call. By 10 a.m. that morning, Damas was on a flight to Haiti.
Last week, Damas updated his Facebook account with the words, “Good people do not go to heaven, only sinners do! Thank you God I am going to heaven.”

I didn’t even look at it that way. Why not just quietly kill yourself. No being held up and waiting for a SWAT team to do it for you.
This is not about a man not being able to take care of his family at all.
This man was an abuser and as usual, when a man hits you, he can probably kill you. Women need not hang around further until he kills you. This is why we need to take domestic violence more seriously and never allow ourselves or loved ones to get involved in that deadly circle of violence.
The police had been called to their household since 2005 for domestic violence situations… that’s 4 years of documented escalating violence that ended up in murder. They just attended an anger management class on Wednesday night, and less than 48 hours later he kills her and their children.

Actually it is about a person that cannot take care of kids. Being an unfit parent….lacking the proper skills is an inabililty to take care of children. Just because you have the money to put clothes on their back doesnt make you a good parent. I dont know their history but clearly he lacks coping skills and could not manage his anger…THEREFORE NEEDED TO GET A VASECTOMY AFTER THE FIRST ONE!

@divinebrown, I see where you’re going with this & I disagree… somewhat. (I’m just glad to engage in discussion about this, domestic violence).
This wasn’t about him not parenting properly or not being able to cope, it was about him being violent & controlling towards his wife. I guess he figured the kids were a burden to him so he decided to off them too.

IMO I think most if not all people on here realize how serious domestic violence is. There are many faces BOTH MEN and WOMEN that fall under this umbrella. BOTH men and women need to keep their hands to themselves.
I am guessing in this case she was truly a REAL domestic violence victim and she didn’t want to leave cause she couldnt afford to (she couldnt afford to stay either as she found out) with 5 kids.

There is a TV show called snapped where WOMEN kill their husbands or boyfriends it all goes both ways. Men can be crazy and so can women. Women kill their kids as well these days sad but true.
@Daisy, because women are 85% to 95% of all domestic violence victims, I think its easy to see why women are always the target of domestic violence messages. I don’t know what you qualify as real domestic violence, but I always thought battery of any sort between intimate partners counts. I think may people think one hit ever so often isn’t that bad or one a young couple fighting is young love and they’ll grow out of it, but look at the age Guerline was when she started this relationship…

I just don’t understand what goes through a persons mind when they decide to kill anyone but really their children. How do you just walk up and start slicing their throats. That’s so sad. That’s not even an immediate death they had to bleed to death. The older kids had to know what was happening to them. I just don’t understand.
There was a man and his two kids found killed out here in LA last week. He had also used a knife and killed his son and daughter 12 and 7. The report said they were stabbed. When I saw that I just couldn’t understand how you continue to stab your child until they’re dead.
This is just so damn confusing to me. I can’t understand the lunacy behind it. But I guess for that I should be thankful.
@intensemocha… so called “foreigners” have the same percentage of domestic violence cases in their communities as regular “americans” do; and all an american need do is have a valid passport to haul ass out of the country or enough gas in the car to haul ass within these United States.
@Daisy again, women on men violence happens on out of 20 times; so that means 19 out of 20 times it’s a women getting her ass beat, her neck choked, her shoulder bitten, her womb hit, her teeth knocked out and her face bloodied. So I understand why intensemocha again would make her statements about men being the perpetrators of the violence.
@miamore Do you believe in demons? I mean that’s the first thing that comes to mind when I hear about violence in this manner against your own flesh & blood. I can imagine those children begging their father for their lives once they saw him kill their first sibling or their mother; how can you hear the voice of the child you nurtured begging you and off them anyways if you aren’t possessed?
