A GoFundMe created for Ashlee Jenae’s funeral expenses has raised nearly $64,000 in donations. The GoFundMe exceeded its original goal of $50,000. The money will be divided between Ashlee’s parents, Harry Robinson and Yolanda Denise Endres.
According to the GFM description, the funds will help cover travel costs, funeral arrangements, and unexpected expenses. Harry and Yolanda wrote in the description, “Thank you for standing with our family.”
Ashlee’s body was returned to her parents in New Jersey on April 24. According to TMZ, Ashlee’s engagement ring and other personal belongings are missing.
The Miami-based lifestyle influencer died by hanging inside a villa at a resort in Tanzania. Ashlee was in Tanzania to celebrate her engagement to crypto businessman Joe McCann.
She also celebrated her 31st birthday at a wildlife safari with Joe. Ashlee shared Instagram photos that showed her feeding a giraffe. She also shared video of Joe proposing to her.
On April 7, Zuri Zanzibar hotel staff heard a loud argument coming from their room. Hotel security separated them in different villas.
Joe reportedly found Ashlee unresponsive in her villa and contacted authorities. About 11 hours later, he called Ashlee’s parents to say she harmed herself.
Ashlee’s parents haven’t heard from Joe since that phone call. His social media followers say he is promoting his crypto business online.
Ashlee’s official cause of death is asphyxiation. But her parents rejected the idea that Ashlee committed suicide. They said she would never harm herself.
Harry and Yolanda plan to travel to Tanzania to meet with officials and review hotel surveillance footage.
