I don’t know why I keep getting emails like this one when it should be obvious that I have gay male friends and I love them. I don’t have love for cowards who hide in the closet their entire lives and tiptoe out only when it’s convenient for them (ie, Ricky Martin).

Sorry, but I’m not apologizing for being real. So let’s all say goodbye to Jason and wish him well on his journey to other blogs where, hopefully he will discover that life is full of little disappointments.

Hello, Sandra. I’m a regular reader and have been since about 2007-one question: Do you hate gay men? It appears so. You glorify lesbian relationships but find disgust with any male who even thinks about being with another man. You seem to hold the point of view that gay men are responsible for all the ills confronting Black America. The last time I checked, they were not the ones selling crack, killing and robbing folks, going to jail repeatedly, leaving women with multiple fatherless children…and the AIDS thing. OK, you can’t blame gay men for Black women having unsafe sex with NON gay men. Gay men don’t like women, remember? Black women are disproportionately affecting the high AIDS rate because of their own actions. Go to any “str8” Black club and you’ll see why.

Its bad enough you condemn violence on the one hand-and then glorify convicted gun slinger T.I. and that dreadful Tiny on the other, which can be understood considering you are presumably (at least I hope) being paid handsomely for your deference. But to perpetually degrade gay men is just beyond the pale because gay men are a big part of the reason you are so popular. They love you and you know it. Too bad its a one way street. You stake your claim as an influential music industry insider; if so, then how could you of all people disregard the fact that gay men may make up a larger constituency on your site than just the silly over-opionated women who dominate your posts? You love who you love; why can’t you let other people do the same? You’re a gifted writer who wastes a lot of time dehumanizing an over-victimized minority. As for me, I wish you well but the virulent homophobia has become too much for me and I’m OUT.

I agree with Sandra on this one. If you are out of the closet and true to yourself then more power to you. It’s the ones that play both sides of the court that works on my dang on nerves. I remember once I met this guy who was very intelligent, good looking and seemed to have his self together. We went out twice, both times he was dressed immpeccable in a business casual style. He was a perfect gentle and I enjoyed his company. Imagine my suprise when I went with one of my gay friends to a drag show and saw his monkey ass in the middle of the dance floor with some spandex shorts, a pink tank top and a yellow off shoulder blouse, dancing like Lamar from revenge of the nerds. I will always remember that because, I wondered what would have happened had I not seen him at the club that night.

You are so right. I know I love my gays!!! My brother and exhusband are so homophobic that they were passing onto my son. I had to curse them out. Don’t you dear force your beliefs on him. What if he was fighting with that himself? I don’t want my son hanging himself for the shame of things,not being accepted bby family. We were in the mall(Lenox) and the comment that he made made me knock him in the mouth. I have many gay friends. Hell, that was how he was able to enjoy so many Hawks games, from the tickets that a gay man was giving him. I was really hurt by it. He was 10 at the time but I had to really make him understand how what he said could affect someone. We haven’t had that problem since then. He is heterosexual male but if he wasn’t I would love him all the same.

Ricky Martin dated women for years… he made borderline homophobic statements years ago when his sexuality was questioned, maybe we’re not calling him DL because he’s Latino, but he was as DL as they came.

Carrington makes good points about us(society) not accepting homosexuals thus making it harder for them to come out and it not being necessary for them to divulge their bedroom habits, I agree. I don’t shove my heterosexuality in anyone’s face and I don’t appreciate anyone shoving their homosexuality or heterosexuality in my face. BUT don’t deceive anyone in your attempt to prove your sexuality, it’s not fair.

you will probably have those feelings for a while and I would suggest you give in to your desires but once you said your man said no, then I would just leave them at the door. Because you are in a relationship, if you two aren’t on the same page, then you will have regrets. You should either have the mutual agreement to do it or if you ever become single. That way the chances of regrets will be less…then you in turn will enjoy it more.
