The judge who made the ruling is gay. But of course his sexuality didn’t weigh at all in his decision.

Why do gays and lezbins WANT to get married? Marriage is really an institution in which GOD put together for MAN and WOMAN. If you don’t believe in God fine or if you’re not a Christian fine but why make a mockery of the church or marriage if you’re not gonna follow through and live by it its true meaning? Just be fine with common law marriage versus a REAL marriage.
It’s almost like Christians wanting an Indian or Chinese ceremony even though they have nothing to do with the traditions of those cultures.
If gays want to be together then do it but leave marriage out of it. Everything they see straight ppl do they wanna do it. They ONLY want to do it because somebody telling them they can’t and after this they’re not gonna wanna do it now. Alot of them even realize that the sanctity of marriage is indeed between a man and a woman. And i’m not even gonna harp on why marriage really has NOTHING to do with the constitution but I’ll digress…
It’s not really the men that wants to get married its the gay-one-day-and-straight-the-next women who needs to go to hell with gasoline drawls on……….

Since we all want to be treated equal under the constitutional laws that govern this country, notice I did not say the church laws, than this decision was correct in my opinion and hopefully the Supreme Court will uphold the decision.
This ruling to allow gay marriage is not saying that they can go to any church and demand to be married under the CHURCH laws, it only applies to the secular issuance of a marriage certificate. And since states can issue a MARRIAGE certificate then that makes it a secular marriage that does not involve the church, any religion or spiritual beliefs.
It is when a couple chooses to have a ceremony, in addition to a secular marriage, that involves a church or being officiated by a representative of the clergy that it becomes a marriage in regards to the church and whatever beliefs that couple has in regards to a higher being.
Soooo…. Go ahead gay men and women and enjoy/suffer from the joy/pain that is marriage in the secular sense, at least…… :laugh:

Oh, one more thing.
Marriage in the sense of this ruling is mainly about property rights and inheritance issues and other legalities that a couple is privy to when legally married. In my opinion, that is where the constitution does have to do with marriage. I’ve read a lot of historical background on the purpose of marriage in the days of the founding fathers and what marriage meant in those days had just about nothing to do with love and happiness and all of the fairy tale stuff we now associate with marriage.
It was all about money, property, and land, hence the marriage contract,oops, I meant certificate/license.
someone asked me if i were married once. “of course not, dont i look happy?” was my response.
i guess this is a great thing for those who more or less fought for this right in california.
