R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, 32, has been appointed Vice President of A&R at Motown Records, according to published reports. Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr., left Def Jam Records after 6 years and 4 albums.

Ne-Yo will work closely with former LaFace Records intern Ethiopia Habtemariam, who was appointed senior VP of Motown last September. She also holds the title of executive VP/head of urban music for Universal Music Publishing Group.

Ne-Yo said: "I'm honored that I¹ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson -- these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it."

Ne-Yo's album Year of the Gentleman and Young Jeezy's album, The Recession, were both cited by insiders as part of the reason for the fall out between then Def Jam label head LA Reid and his Executive VP Shakir Stewart.

Both albums, which were A&R'd by Stewart, dropped in September 2008 and failed to go gold by the time Stewart shot himself to death in the bathroom of his Marietta, Ga. home on Nov. 1, 2008.

Apparently Halle Berry's nanny doesn't have good karma because a judge today tossed out her restraining order petition against Gabriel Aubry.

As you know, Alliance Kamdem, 29, took out a police report last week accusing Aubry, 35, of "ongoing" verbal and physical abuse towards her. Kamdem claims Aubry hurled racial epithets at her and shoved her into a door while she was holding Nahla last Wednesday.

In her petition, Kamdem cited another alleged incident in June in which she claims Gabriel violently pushed her out a door.

According to celebrity gossip website, TMZ.com, Kamdem "also said Gabriel didn't like her from the moment she began her duties as a nanny last June. She claims Gabriel said, "You are a spy," and "Nahla doesn't like you, she doesn't want you here."

She said that while she was performing her nanny duties on the set of Halle's movie in Spain, Aubry "would walk over and violently grab/take Nahla away from me."

But the judge wasn't convinced. He called Kamdem's accusations "insufficient and speculative" -- and he advised her to take the matter up in family court. The judge rejected her claims probably because what Kamdem was saying didn't make sense without Aubry's side of the story.

Kamdem has since quit her position as Halle's nanny.

The Atlanta Journal reports that the body of a woman found Monday in southeast Atlanta might be Stacey Nicole English, 36, who was reported missing in December 2011.

"The decedent is an adult black female, consistent in age with reported missing person Stacey English," said chief medical examiner Randy Hanzlick, though it remains unclear whether the body is that of the missing Buckhead woman.

According to the AJC, two men searching for scrap metal stumbled upon the body on Monday in a wooded area less than a mile away from where English's white Volvo was found abandoned with the engine running.

The body was “in an advanced state of decomposition,” Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos told the AJC.

APD notified English's family of the discovery. “If this is not her, I have to still be sad because it’s someone else’s child," said Bernice English Hurks, English's aunt.

“I can’t base my emotions on what I think," English Hurks said. The hardest thing now, she said, “is not knowing.”

An autopsy is underway to identify the body and to determine the cause of death.

TMZ.com reports that Halle Berry, 45, has arrived at court for her showdown with baby daddy Gabe Aubry, 35.

As you know, Halle's nanny quit last week after Gabe flew into a rage and slammed her against a door -- while she was holding Nahla in her arms.

A previous court order stipulated that a nanny must be present at all times while Aubry has custody of Nahla. But Aubry kept Nahla out of school last week without informing the nanny who went to the school to pick her up.

A police report was filed by the nanny accusing Aubry of assault.

Denise Vasi's "love interest" on the upcoming season of VH1's 'Single Ladies' has been revealed -- and no, it's not LisaRaye or Queen Latifah.

From VH1 blog:

We’ve mentioned our fondness for the lovely Denise Vasi, the actress who has joined the cast of Single Ladies for season two, but right now we might be more jealous of her than anything. Vasi posted a few pictures to her Twitter account last night from a dinner where she was joined by her new co-star and on-screen love interest, William Levy. There’s a reason this guy was voted People En Espanol‘s Sexiest Man Alive in 2011. Good Lord. Pretty sure we’ve never seen as good-looking a couple as this. More hotness is below in our gallery, and to catch up on all the latest Vasi/Levy news, follow them on Twitter @denisevasi and @willylevy29.

I guess we can see the direction that 'Single Ladies' is going in, huh?

Actress Cynthia Nixon, 45, has angered gay rights activists by saying she chooses to be gay. Nixon insists that, for her, being gay is a choice, just like being celibate or bisexual is a choice.

The former 'Sex and the City' star's choice of words flies in the face of what gay rights advocates want us to believe -- that being gay is not a choice.

But Nixon, who has 2 biological children with her old college sweetheart, Daniel Mozes, said “Why can’t it be a choice? Why is that any less legitimate? It seems we’re just ceding this point to bigots who are demanding it, and I don’t think that they should define the terms of the debate."

“I gave a speech recently, an empowerment speech to a gay audience, and it included the line ‘I’ve been straight and I’ve been gay, and gay is better.’ And they tried to get me to change it, because they said it implies that homosexuality can be a choice. And for me, it is a choice,” she said. “I understand that for many people it’s not, but for me it’s a choice, and you don’t get to define my gayness for me. A certain section of our community is very concerned that it not be seen as a choice, because if it’s a choice, then we could opt out. I say it doesn’t matter if we flew here or we swam here, it matters that we are here and we are one group and let us stop trying to make a litmus test for who is considered gay and who is not.

I also feel like people think I was walking around in a cloud and didn’t realize I was gay, which I find really offensive. I find it offensive to me, but I also find it offensive to all the men I’ve been out with.”

According to Radaronline.com, "The Huffington Post reports that America Blog writer John Aravosis is amongst those displeased by Nixon’s “choice” of words."

"It's not a 'choice,' unless you consider my opting to date a guy with brown hair versus a guy with blonde hair a 'choice,'" he writes. "It's only a choice among flavors I already like... every religious right hatemonger is now going to quote this woman every single time they want to deny us our civil rights."

British singer Seal is on a cross country promo tour for his new album of 70s Soul classics, Soul 2, which dropped today in the U.S. The album was originally released in November 2011 in Europe.

On Sunday, Seal, 48, and his supermodel wife, Heidi Klum, 38, announced their separation after 7 years of marriage and 4 kids together. Coincidence or publicity stunt for his new album?

Yesterday, Seal was a guest on the 'Tavis Smiley Show' on PBS (he also stopped by the Ellen Show). On both shows, Seal talked about his new album, but the questions inevitably turned to the split between he and his wife.

Seal told Tavis that the separation did not make recording his album difficult. "just because you decide to separate... you don't stop loving each other. You don't... stop being friends," said Seal. He added: "What one has to do is remain civil to retain one's dignity... It's unfortunately a chapter of life."

Love & Hip Hop Finale aired last night on VH1. Due to the feds action against Megaupload, the file sharing services are running scared. So this is the only working link, but it is slow. You have to let the video load totally, and then rewind to play.

Anyway, the big question on everyone's mind is why did Chrissy Lampkin, 40, advise Emily B to settle for her man cheating as long as she doesn't know about it? The answer is: Chrissy is living in a thing called reality.

She knows that her man might be loyal to her and he loves her, but men are very easily tempted by cunning and crafty tricks and gold diggers.

Men are flawed from birth. A man's egos is designed to be impressed by chicks who show interest in them. They wouldn't be men if they didn't respond to the attention from hot broads. I'm not sure why that's so hard for you women to understand. You're not being realistic if you don't comprehend that men cheat.

Also in this episode, Olivia confronts DJ Funkmaster Flex, Emily is still desperate and clinging to Fabolous hoping they live happily ever after. Kimbella announces she's pregnant. Can Kimbella take care of her two sons with the reality show paychecks she gets after boyfriend Juelz Santana is arrested? And messy Yandy is still a mess. Nothing will change on that end.

Please remember that these shows are partially scripted, meaning the plots and drama are strongly "suggested" by the show's producers.

Gabe Aubry has serious issues. This, according to Halle Berry, who is taking the Canadian underwear model back to court for losing his cool and assaulting her nanny.

Radaronline.com reports that Aubry hurled racial epithets and physically assaulted their daughter Nahla's nanny last week. It seems that Aubry kept Nahla home from school for 2 days because he claimed she the 3-year-old was sick. But Aubry neglected to tell Nahla's nanny, who went to the child's private school looking for her.

"The nanny went to pick Nahla up at school and she wasn't there, so she went to Gabriel's home," a source told RadarOnline.com. "Gabriel and the nanny got into an argument because no one alerted her that Nahla didn't go to school."

The source told RadarOnline.com Aubry allegedly called the nanny a racial slur, before things took a turn for the physical.

"She picked up Nahla to leave and Gabriel yelled at her and shoved her out the door so hard that she hit the wall -- while she had Nahla in her arms!" the source alleges, adding that the nanny claims the abuse is ongoing.

According to Radaronline.com, the nanny is so distraught that she has turned in her resignation. Good for Halle for standing up for her people!

Maybe Soul legend Aretha Franklin reads my blog because she called off the wedding to her fiance Willie Wilkerson, according to published reports. And not a moment too soon.

Everyone knows Miss ReRe is not the best judge of character when it comes to smooth talking brothas. Had Ms. Franklin gone ahead and walked down the aisle with Mr. Wilkerson, he would have been ex-husband #4 for sure.

Rumors started last week that ex lovers Rihanna and Chris Brown were seeing each other again, but the rumors are not true. Brown and his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, were spotted leaving the Greystone Manor separately, and at different times, after a night of partying.

Chris Brown left the club through the front door and climbed into his Range Rover with his girlfriend, KT, and some friends, while Rihanna, looking desperate and lonely, left through a side door and got into a waiting SUV with a bodyguard. My sources tell me Rihanna and CB didn't speak to each other. The media insists on putting these troubled kids back together, but the truth is they are just friends.

Meanwhile, Rihanna was spotted looking wasted as she arrived at LAX airport from Hawaii where she was spotted smoking pounds of weed and drinking to drunken excess. Rihanna looked terrible and we're all worried for her. The way Rihanna looks now, even Chris Brown doesn't want her.
