Blue Ivy Carter told off her grandmother Tina Lawson for taking video inside an opulent theater in Paris, France. Beyonce’s mom took the singer’s six-year-old daughter to a theater in Paris on Wednesday night, and secretly took a video to show her Instagram followers what the inside of the theater looked like, while waiting for the seats to fill up.
“I’m in Paris, France and I’m at the most beautiful theater I’ve ever seen in my life about to look at the ballet. It’s a walk-in ballet, it’s so cool,” Tina said to the camera, before panning around the theater which, according to WENN.com, appears to be the opulent Palais Garnier.
But signs posted at the theater entrance forbids tourists from taking photos and video — and Blue Ivy can read better than most tourists.
In the background, the gradeschooler can be heard reminding her grandma that taking video was against the venue’s rules.
“You’re not supposed to take videos grandma,” Blue said sweetly. “You’re not supposed to.”
But Tina is from that era when children are supposed to be seen and not heard, so she ignored her granddaughter’s warning, and continued to pan around the auditorium, saying, “Such a gorgeous theater. The architecture is beautiful. Really pretty.”
Blue Ivy, whose father is elder rapper Jay Z, is a well-known Internet sensation for her sassy backtalk to her parents. In one viral video, BIC seemingly gestured to her parents to be quiet when they were clapping wildly at the Grammys in January.
Jay Z recently told David Letterman that he liked Blue Ivy’s outspoken nature — probably because she reminded him of his mother.
The 47-year-old rapper recalled his daughter scolding him for the condescending way he spoke down to her.
“We’re driving and then I just hear a little voice [say], ‘Dad…’ “I turn around and she said, ‘I didn’t like when you told me to get in the car the way you told me’ — she’s SIX! — ‘It hurt my feelings.'”
He was so touched by his daughter’s honesty, he replied, “That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.”
