In Case You Missed It: The New Normal
There are two things that should never be discussed at the dinner table: politics and gay marriage. NBC’s scripted series The New Normal covers all of that and more.
In Tuesday’s episode (which we can argue is nothing but a campaign vehicle for Obama), Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) threw a dinner party to prove to Nana (Ellen Barkin) that they have black friends. The idea for the dinner came up after Nana (whose family has always voted Republican) accused Bryan and David of being racist because they voted for Obama. Her reasoning was the gay couple voted for Obama because he was black, hence, they must be racist.
So Bryan sets out to prove he’s not racist by inviting his only black friend, his personal assistant Rocky (NeNe Leakes) to break bread with Nana the republican. Bryan hopes Rocky will bring her black friends to the dinner — she doesn’t (unless you count her brother who votes Republican). For a series that promotes tolerance, The New Normal manages to offend just about everybody.

When were you diagnosed with Scoliosis? I remember those screenings they would give us in elementary school, where you had to bend over in front of the Nurse…How does that affect you? Severe back pain? Can you run or jump around ala ‘House of Pain’?

The day after I graduated high school. I woke up the next morning and couldnt get up. I was bent over with no hope!! One of the worse feelings ever. I had to get a spinal tap and do physical therapy. I couldnt walk long distance and couldn’t lift anything over 5lbs. Had to stop working for awhile and stop school. That spinal tap left me bed ridden for 7 days.
I am much better now. In my high ass heels like aint nothing ever happened.I run, jump, kick, stab. whatever!!! I still get inflammation from time to time.

The day after I graduated high school. I woke up the next morning and couldnt get up. I was bent over with no hope!! One of the worse feelings ever. I had to get a spinal tap and do physical therapy. I couldnt walk long distance and couldn’t lift anything over 5lbs. Had to stop working for awhile and stop school. That spinal tap left me bed ridden for 7 days.
I am much better now. In my high ass heels like aint nothing ever happened.I run, jump, kick, stab. whatever!!! I still get inflammation from time to time.
Yes, I remember those screenings. They lied to me!!!

Hey Terrance Dean, I’m a big fan of your work on Bossip and I’m desperate for advice from someone outside of my family and friends.
I’ve gotten myself into a pickle. It began when I started seeing a guy that plays for a semi-pro basketball team. He’s from another city and we met through a dating website. From the jump we hit it off and began being intimate. The only issue was that he was in a serious relationship with his long-time girlfriend. He told me about how much he didn’t want to be with her and how he felt trapped, and how good it made him feel to make love to me. This has been going on for the last 7 years, and to this day he is still with his girlfriend.
He told me that regardless of what happens that he doesn’t want her to suffer and be heart-broken because of his choices. Basically, in the last couple of years I’ve found out that he was sleeping with other women too, not only in his city, but in the cities he travels to when he plays basketball. Even though we never made our relationship official, I fell hard for him, and it makes me jealous knowing that he still continues to sleep with other women.
Alright, so here is my predicament … I’m pregnant! I’m only a few weeks now, but I don’t know if the best choice would be to keep it. As soon as I told him I was pregnant he became distant and didn’t want to discuss it. I care about him a lot and I don’t want what we have to be tarnished because I brought a baby into this world that he doesn’t want. Please Help! – In A Baby Bind

I make green juices and smoothies love them and they have helped me jump start my weight loss again. I juiced for a week lost 7lbs and then the next week I juiced 2 bkfst/dinner and ate lunch.

Couple of apples and carrotts and lil ginger…Makes all veggies taste good!
