Sunday was President Barack Obama's 2nd Inauguration, but tongues were wagging about Michelle Obama's dress and bangs wig. Obama himself admitted that Michelle's bangs were the talk of the 57th Inauguration. But what about that odd blue dress she wore?
If the dress fabric looks familiar to you men, that's because the dress's design was based on the silk material of a man's tie.
According to the AP (via the Washington Post):
The fabric for the first lady’s Inauguration Day attire was developed based on the style of a man’s silk tie. The belt she is wearing is from J.Crew and her necklace was designed by Cathy Waterman. She is also wearing J.Crew shoes.
J.Crew also designed daughter Malia's ensemble. After the Inauguration ceremony, the first lady's dress and her accessories (except for the bangs wig) will be mothballed at the National Archives in DC.
