TI and Tiny

Earlier, I told you about the drama surrounding Tameka Harris' star-studded baby shower and a "chef" who claimed he wasn't paid to cater the party.

Tameka's event planner, Tamara Whitaker of Bella Rose Events, reached out to Sandrarose.com to share her side of the story.

Tameka Harris

Hello there Mrs. Sandra

I wanted to share my side with you. I booked a chef off Instagram whose food looked amazing in pictures. I asked if, when we meet up to get the deposit could he bring a sample of the 3 choices that we had lined up for the event. He agreed. I met him Thursday to give him $1000 cash of the $2000 budget that we discussed for appetizers, 3 meat option, and 4 vegetable options.

Once I gave him the money and I got the food, I tasted it and instantly realized I had made a mistake. The fried chicken was fried to a crisp and dry as can be; the mac and cheese was store bought and had no flavor along with no seasoned broccoli.

He texted me and I let him know that I didn't like it at all and expressed to him my problem with it. He swore he could fix it and would make it better. I took a day before telling him I was going to get another chef to make the full course and sides while he just makes appetizers and salmon for Tip and Domani (who doesn't eat meat). He said, "Okay, great. That saves me a whole lot of work." He was also informed that he would no longer be getting the remainder $1000 since he was not doing the main food, only 30% at this point, but that we were going to give it to the other chef instead.

He arrived to the venue late. Once he got there, the second chef was already set up and had everything laid out. I was than called and informed that he had stormed out the door and took all the food. So he obviously feels he should have still been paid the additional thousand even though I had to hire another chef to do the work that he and I had agreed on him doing it all. This hurts my feelings because I worked so hard for months on this shower and the preparation to be bashed by a fraud of a man who steals other chef photos.

He wanted me to provide everything from platters, stirrers, and even staff. He is no professional, but unfortunately I should have done my research better and the next time I know not to pay cash and request a refund immediately instead of just letting him do appetizers.

I am a young boss in the making and that's one lesson that I have learned. Thank you so much for listening to my side. I hope you have a great night.

Bless your heart sweeheart, you tried it. You would been better calling the sweet potatoe sanger. He would have cooked and been entertainment

Kudos for trying to help a brother out.

  • bemetoo

she tryn to save face.. booboo that man made that food and yall aint pay

  • ramosyo

I totally believe her. What a liar he is. I bet he wished he cooked like those pics. I went to his gram. Frauddddd!

  • Go-Go Girlie

She's got a lot to learn about event planning. IF you'd been planning the event for months, why were you choosing a caterer (based of IG pics) just days before the shower? And why are you hiring a "chef" and not a caterer? And where did you meet up to give him the deposit that you couldn't sit and taste the food right then and there? Her story doesn't add up. This must be her first event.

  • A D N

According to her writing she appears unprofessional. Taking a business class is essential to any one interested in servicing clients.

  • A D N

Food, venue and guest list are very important. I admire her ability to say I dropped the ball...

  • Ke$hiaFromBelly

Lmao at the catering ad that pops up b4 the comments
This story sounds hella ShrimpNFishy but meh...

  • A D N

I wonder if she was paid since she messed up...

  • http://Instagram.com/_queenofthecaramel_ Jackie Rayne

Sounds like she's lying to me, "young boss in the making?" Girl bye.

  • barbeez

The even was Sunday and you hired the cook on Thursday? Didn't taste his food before giving him the money? Tip and Tiny have too much money to be dealing with this foolishness. She's in Atlanta. She should have had a long list of the top caterers. If he cooked the food, give him the money.

  • Liar Extinguisher

I once enjoyed this site when it was pure unbiased celebrity gossip.. instead of the urban TeeMzee that it has become.. taking sides in disputes/battles for friends. No bueno. Stick to the original format.. that was working for you.

  • Soon2BWife

Whhhhyyyyyy are they having a baby shower anyway? Showers are for new parents having a new baby......though they are having a new baby they are far from their first baby rodeo.

  • SaltineCrackers

    LOL@ Mrs. Sandra tho

Dear Lord, please help this child.

I'm hoping this was her very first event because if it wasn't she better get out the game fast!

    1) Why are you picking a chef off of Instagram for an event this size if you've never had his food before?

    2) The man should have left the food at the venue since they did pay for the food. However

    3) You can't renegotiate the terms of the deal, without actually renegotiating the terms of the deal.

I guess it was nice that Tiny took a chance on her family member.

  • SaltineCrackers

Right. That's way too much money to give to someone for food you've never tasted before.

  • SaltineCrackers

    LOL

  • SaltineCrackers

T.I.'s face is up there looking like he ejaculated too much of his life force away.

  • 1 Hit Wonder

Young boss in the making lol. People in Atlanta are so ghetto. You bragging about being rich and famous while your planner is hiring folk off instagram. Ghet-to!! I could tell by how he had his food displayed that he was not professional. This event planner sounds like a bird brain. I would not pay her ass for this.

  • Li

Did I read right? She paid him BEFORE she tasted the food? And event planner didn't get references and recommendations for the chef? Not a good event planner.

  • Li

You are so right....and why did she give him a down payment BEFORE she tasted the food.
The event planner sounds like a newby.

  • Li

This sounds like a case for Judge Judy.

  • Fendi

So ghetto. So, if the food budget was a measley $2,000, is it safe to say that the entire event wasn't a $500k baby shower?!. Lol. The family grocery bill seems like it would be $2k if someone around the house cooks. Anyone who could pull off 3 meats for at least 100 people, plus other food isn't feeding people what they're being told they're being fed. And Young Flop wanted the caterer to provide plates, utensils and napkins for no money. Bitch, no.

  • Fendi

According to her appearance, she appears to be unprofessional. Lol

  • Fendi

    That's just Mich... Nvm.

  • lexdiamonz

wait.. the EVENT planner .. HIRED an INSTAGRAM shelf.. yall Atlanta folk BE FRONTING hard as HELL... .. ma'am.. you GOT YOUR FOOD off the internet .. that nicca could have POISONED ALL YALL asses... you are NO YOUNG BOSS .. ahahhahahhaahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahhaahhahahahahahahahhahahh

  • lexdiamonz

wait.. the EVENT planner .. HIRED an INSTAGRAM CHEF.. yall Atlanta folk BE FRONTING hard as HELL... .. ma'am.. you GOT YOUR FOOD off the internet .. that nicca could have POISONED ALL YALL asses... you are NO YOUNG BOSS .. ahahhahahhaahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahhaahhahahahaha

  • 88

Doesn't T.I. own a restaurant? Why are they booking instagram chefs? Not a good look.

  • lexdiamonz

did they have a shower for TIP other babies? *sips tea*

  • lexdiamonz

yup.. something in the titty milk aint clean

  • NeverSurprised

I'm completely confused by the people of Atlanta. I own a successful real estate development company in NY and Ohio. In NY, one cannot run a successful company without having basic business skills. Doesn't TI own SEVERAL "successful" companies? How is it possible that he would employ an "event planner" who hires a chef without a referral, gives him CASH, taste-tests the food AFTER she has given him the cash, has no written CONTRACT, then discusses the entire fiasco ON THE INTERNET? And yes, perhaps Tiny hired the planner, but again, aren't there some PROFESSIONALS who work for this couple and advise them on basic business matters? I simply do not understand.

"Young boss in the making" sounds Ratlanta.

  • shun king

You would be surprised how low it gets cause it get worse

  • LithiumHaitianFlower

So many bootleg chefs in the A. You eat with your eyes, nose, and mouth first smh. Auntie, how do i send her an email about my food catering place. The funny thing I'd do the gig for free(for promo). The sad thing is these 'chefs' on the gram deceive very well. I'm still struggling to get my gourmet catering business up by properly trade marking, licensing my signature sauces, my special authenthic Caribbean jerks/curry as well as my vegan and gluten free specialties. Them 'chefs' go straight on the gram scheming with pics lolll... by the time u realise u got schemed they already get a non refundable deposit and publicity bwahaha

Good Morning - For those that dont KNOw.

    1. That young lady is probably a FOTB
    2. This was not her event.
    3. This is the neice of Tiny.

    Love your logins

    Bye

  • T’acheItEzee15

I love myself some Tiny. Aww...that cake is so pretty. I haven't seen a cake setup like that since my parents 25th wedding anniversary banquet, my Mom demanded to have the same cake she had for their wedding. lls

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

She still didn't abide by the contract per her own admission. A day later is still everything.

Everyone in this is foul. He should have a written contract instead of being hyped to do a solid for Tip. (Yeah, I said it.) If this was months in the planning, she was late as hayle and need to get her feelings out of his dry chicken and bland broccoli.

It almost sounds as if someone was trying to cut corners and get something for nothing. Looking at this one could think she was pocketing the difference. 2k for all of that minus staff and place settings is a lot.

There is still something being left out. If he got to the venue with only the appetizers and stormed out, why was he in the parking lot selling chicken dinners from the food he wasn't suppose to make and looking for the balance of the agreed amount?

    Anyone?...Bueller?...Sway?

And when has it become professional for people to air out differences on the net? If he is unprofessional she is just as bad. She told on herself more than she told on him and probably doesn't even realize it. Who wants to be the next to sign up for her services for a star-studded event or your son's bar mitzvah or niece's quinceanera.

I wish all of them the best and 2 hours of legal advice from Phaedra or a monthly subscription of Zoom.

  • T’acheItEzee15

The worse thing you can ever do if fcuk up some fried chicken and macaroni & cheese; that's a no-no!

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

Well, who was checking the checker (family) because this went left fast or late depending on how you want to look at it? ?

  • https://www.etsy.com/shop/AMarieNaturals Lovezoe

Well. A few things. The tasting should have been done before Thursday. Why didn't she taste the food why he was there? Why give 1K to food you didn't taste? Why you wait a day to tell him? I don't mine him being an IG chef, but you should have checked his references. Next Time get a contract, you can find a free template online.

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

? Well, you know it wasn't spent on trashcan chicken? Or maybe it was if you look at it sideways. Is that new cuisine? 500K and the food is 2K? Where's the difference?

Welp, the lesson here is to NOT do business via Instagram! Folks front a lot on there, when will folks learn! Lawd!!! As much as I love my family and close friends, I just would rather not hire any of them because I want them to come and have a good time.

Thats how you fall out with kin folks too trying to keep the money in the family but if you don't have a license or professional experience in any of the business ventures I need, sorry fam I can not! It keeps confusion down too! Don't hire your niece when there are real professionals out there!

  • https://www.etsy.com/shop/AMarieNaturals Lovezoe

WHALE! Their youngest is what 8? And they are having a girl. I think it's okay.

You just trying to show me up ?

Hey Zoe! Missed you around these parts.

  • It’s Taurus Season

    could he bring a sample
    ^^^^
So you want him to bring you some fried chicken? That won't hot out the grease? Wtf did your dumb ass expect it to taste like?

He was wrong for the bland broccoli and box mac and cheese. But your ass was wrong for expecting that chicken to taste worth anything. Getcho life ma'am

  • Cricket404

How come everything else cost $500,000 and the food only cost $2000? AND you don't have a chef until days before the event?! Shame on it all. Chef Sammy Davis worked for Tip's Scales 925, he is the best in the city- why wasn't he hired? btw, he has a Cook and Sip Class that is the bees knees.

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

They had two after her, no? I get what you're saying. Their first girl.

Young man will post his location and food and claims he sells out.

Fans of this man come through.

  • It’s Taurus Season

Really? This heffa need to be investigated. I'm sure the food budget was way more than $2k. We spend that on family reunion catering. You know you were given probably $6-7k and tried to pocket them folks money. FOH.?

  • Jusstlookn

I am for the Truth. Something is amiss

  • Blaque Mahogany

    Well, something don't add up.

First, let me say I just went to his page and his mac and cheese looks good as hell. So why he would show up to a tasting, specifically one for a celebrity, with store bought mac and cheese is....uhhh....yeah. 2) So you told him you didn't like the food on Thurs/Fri presumably, then waited another 24 hours (Fri/Sat), after agreeing to give hin a chance to "fix it", to tell him, "Nah, nevermind. Even though you were food was nasty, overcooked, and bland I still want you to make appetizers specifically for TI." For an event scheduled on Sunfay. C) According to your story he still showed up with "all the food" despite being told he was only supposed to make appetizers. Whet?! Yeah...something is not adding up.

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

WHY YOU HAVE TO BRANG UP THAT MAIN'S LONELY, DANGLIN' MACADAMIA? WHAT IT DO TO YOUUUU!

Let me go to class. My coffee blend is off. Got me up here shouting early in the mornting and not using proper English. You can also add grammar.

    ???

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

You betta get on the case. Watch out now! There's some sleuths behind you.

  • Blaque Mahogany

I basically said the same thing up top. Agreed.

  • Unita Lucinda “Lucy” Freebush

    Where's @Yoni? ??? Hey Blaque!

  • Diva_woman

This is the 7th child between the two of them, I don't think they were all that concerned. They hired their cousin to support family and someone up and coming, better to hire family than be asked to pay their bills or something. The girl was probably unprofessional but it's a baby shower not a wedding or a grand opening to a store or album release party. For most people, even most celebrities it's more of an intimate event not something you kill yourself worrying about.

  • Jusstlookn

Look I get paid to reasearch, yall not gonna wear my nerves today.

  • It’s Taurus Season

  • Blaque Mahogany

AND....you are saying that you were going to pay him $1,300 for appetizers when you were originally going to pay him $2k for appetizers, meats, vegetables, paper plates, utensils, napkins, toothpicks, floss, etc.

  • https://www.etsy.com/shop/AMarieNaturals Lovezoe

Upon further research, this not her first event. She did Kandi shower too, and Zonnique party. And a Tiny mother day brunch.

Ya know this subject has been beaten into the ground(in one day) ? So I hope SR is about to press the new post button (imagine like Krispy Kreme ?) or folks might begin to get petty regarding this soirée ?

  • https://www.etsy.com/shop/AMarieNaturals Lovezoe

Lol! That's good!! I'm excited. Few weeks ago we went to Boatyard. We went there in 2013. It was horrible. Service. Food. Everything. I wrote a Yelp and everything.

  • Just Keya

You sooo know the roses. Because I was sure about to ask if anyone saw the clip of TI slightly shading the people who came to the shower and did not bring a gift. Lmao.

  • https://www.etsy.com/shop/AMarieNaturals Lovezoe

What would you say is the must have. I snack off hubby plate lol

  • Just Keya

Let me call up my in law and tell her I need a cupcake tasting for this baby sprinkle. Lmao. (Pops cupcake in mouth that she made me the other day)

  • P London

WTF?! Who hires a caterer without tasting the food???? It's called a food tasting. She doesn't need to be in the event planning business. I planned my own wedding and I knew better than that. Smh. That's a matter of common sense, not experience level.

  • Just Keya

Wait a minute. Isn't that Tiny's cousin in that picture?! Was she the planner?!

  • red headed hussy

Why do Tiny and TI always have problems with their large events? First their wedding now this. Seems to me they need to hire a better team.

  • SweetsJunkie

Wait.......I would think the food was cost more than $2000 for a royal star filled baby shower, anyway

  • Just Keya

    It was star filled? :poof:

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

I KNOW I SAW YESTERDAY THAT IT WAS EITHER NIECE OR COUSIN...RELATIVE ALL THE SAME.

  • Let Your Soul Glow

Okay, I see you are also a passenger on Dubb's early morning Ain't Shyt train. I gotta work today, I'm getting off at the next stop. ?

  • It’s Taurus Season

    I couldn't help it.

  • GTFOHWTBS

hiring a person based on pics , how dumb is that. a lesson learned. that being said, T.I claims to be rich but takes the cheat route. 2K for a food budget appears on the low end #hotghettomess

  • Just Keya

:makes big Google eyes: who me? Nooooo. I must not of seen the pictures of the stars is all. I saw Monica with some other people though.

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

I HAVE A TENDENCY TO TRY THEN BUY...MY HOMEGIRL HAD A CAKE FOR HER BABY'S BIRTHDAY - CAKE WAS EFFIN AMAZEBALLS! I THEREFORE KNOW WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED UPON SPENDING MY OWN MONEY...IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE AT ALL!

  • Just Keya

Right. And I know she knows better than that so who was this planner.

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

    STUCK IN FRESH PERM/COLOR MODE...UNCOMBABLE

  • WetPntees

I believe so, hence why it didn't cost as much to cater the event.. Sometimes it's not always better to CUT corners..

  • Just Keya

    I'm hollering.

  • It’s Taurus Season

Because the three meats that they were going to serve were sardines, Vienna sausage, spam

  • Let Your Soul Glow

This heffa Keya has wrestled the wheel away from Dubb and is now driving the Aint Shyt train! ? But seriously though in their defense it was like 4 other celeb baby showers this weekend, so folks must have been at the other ones.

  • Meme81

I understand trying to support black business, but she really should've sampled his eats BEFORE paying him. They could've hired Khandi's old lady gang to cook, lol.

  • WetPntees

And who in the hell pays money PRIOR to tasting the food? BAD choice..

  • WetPntees

IG is apparently winning all the way around.. *shrugs*

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

WE WOULD SPEND $2K ON FOOD FOR A PARTY...I KNOW THEY COMING HARDER THAN THAT!

  • Just Keya

Nope. That's my cue. I can NOT! You mean to tell me for this star studded event that's what they ate?! People pay more for plates at a wedding. And they were filming for VH1 so I can't believe they did not put out a grip. Smdh.

  • WetPntees

    *aggressively scrolls back up* LMAO

  • WetPntees

LOL!!! Been there before, not a great experience...

  • WetPntees

I agree, the decorations itself probably costed more!

  • <—Doesn'tTalkToStrangers

    WATT?! ?
    TackE!!!

  • Just Keya

Only other celeb baby show I saw was John and his wife. Because I know your not counting Draya and that stripper who had the African themed shower as celebs?! Oh Kandi was there too so two celebs. Not counting the Harris family.

  • Buttercup

he just makes appetizers and salmon for Tip and Domani (who doesn’t eat meat)
    =============
But fish is a type of meat

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

@Takhar:disqus please read the blog rules re: calling. http://sandrarose.com/terms-of-use/#comments

  • That’s Interesting

I am SO confused. Groceries must be very cheap in Atlanta. On top of that, she must have been planning on paying him little to nothing for his SERVICE. She says that he had no staff or utensils, but for what she wanted to pay him, she didn't deserve it. Her side is just as foul as his. Foh. I think she was trying to get over, and it went terribly wrong. Or she has no clue what she's doing. He might not be a professional, but obviously, she isn't either.

  • Meme81

    Shade?

  • jussaying

Lol maybe she meant "red meat."

  • Just Keya

I was just informed that this entire shower was 500k. So you mean to tell me only 2000 was spend on food? Food per plate at a wedding cost more than that. Stop playing.

  • That’s Interesting

That's what I was thinking, but said don't even bother, cause none of this makes any sense.

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

THE TRUTH SHALL SET CHU FREE...SHE STILL TRYNA SAVE FACE WITH A LIE THO. SMH

  • Buttercup

I'm fed up with folks saying stuff like that. I had a former coworker who said she's vegetarian- she only eats chicken and fish. Bish, you just don't eat red meat.

  • Just Keya

Maybe someone had some food stamps?

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

    FOR SALE*

    FIXED.

  • Milani

I booked a chef off Instagram whose food looked amazing in pictures.
    =======================================
smh...everything on Instagram looks "amazing" in the pics...

  • That’s Interesting

Lol. That had to be it, or was an extreme couponer.

  • jussaying

Lol. Well minus using "doesn't" when referring to a plural entity, at least she's well spoken. A bit naive though. Never heard of a reputable business paying cash. Or not having a contract to sign. I don't even have a business and I know to draw up contracts and get them notarized so you don't have to deal with this mess. She needs to go to school and learn how to come up with a better business model.

  • Jusstlookn

Thats tough.......chicken and waffles...gravy on the side and hime made poptart

  • jussaying

Lol. Chicken is the worst thing to eat in America. It has arsenic in it which is why so many people keep getting cancer. Also, she doesn't understand the concept of vegetarian lol. Id have had more respect if she noted she was a pescatarian

  • Buttercup

As a foodie in the A, groceries ain't any cheaper than anywhere else. Wild caught salmon is $15.99/lb. I don't know what 3 meats you can buy for $1K. Then you'd still have to get the sides. Fat back, sardines, and potted meat maybe?

  • Just Keya

    ????

  • Auditor

Oh OK...I'm sitting here like WHY!?!

  • Buttercup

The real question is who books a caterer before doing a tasting.

  • jussaying

Lmfao my contact messed up I thought that said sperm and gasped.

  • sunni_daze

Her first mistake was using IG. You live and you learn.

  • jussaying

Lol yes I was going to mention that but I'd already seen it multiple times here. I didn't want to Mr Me Too.

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

AT ALL...I NEVER WANT TO BE NOT NATURAL. THAT OTHER ISHT IS FOR ZE BIRDS.

  • nicelyput32

Half a million on a baby shower??? Ri damn diculous!!!

  • Buttercup

LOL. My eyes were cocked like Bob Whitfield's when I read she sampled the food after handing over the money. Everything after that just seemed extremely outrageous.

  • jussaying

I know! Who pays before they even try the product. That's not how it works.

  • WetPntees

For some reason I think she pocketed most of the money and decided to go the cheap route and it backfired on her.. Needless to say, I doubt they will be using her for anything else going forward.

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Quit being cheap !! You get what you pay for that's Tiny niece the "event planner" btw hire professionals when this story broke I was on it she posted text msgs in her IG that were vague I asked where was the contract him nor her could provide one then later they both posted oh I know better next time I'll have contracts ? Chile when you trying to put on a 10k event for 4K this is the result chile smh

  • Just Keya

That's why I said ain't no way they only spent 2000 on food. No way in life. Did they have to pay for entertainment or something?

  • WetPntees

    Lol!!! I LOVE fat back...

  • Just Keya

Lmao that's not how any of this works. Hahahah

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

    She is Tiny ?niece

  • shun king

The food would have been on of the most expensive things I would say

  • jussaying

Lmao that is my fave commercial. After the old navy one with Elizabeth Banks. "woooooaaa-hoooaaaaaah do you know what you have back there?!" ????

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

    You petty as hell ?

  • Yoni

Tiny's eyes don't look to bad with that outfit in that picture.

  • Billy

    Dear Tamare Whitaker,

    Fish is a MEAT!

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Chile food on paper plates I noticed that off the rip!!!!!!! I hate when ppl post pics of food showing off on paper plates so fit a "chef" to do it ummmm NO!

And was eating frozen food section appetizers

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Rigggght what about his chef that cook at the restaurant?!!!!!!

  • Buttercup

Paternal Grandma Butter would fry fat back for breakfast. I was about 5 when I decided to speak on it, "Fat back for breakfast again? [Maternal Grandma Butter] never cooks fat back for breakfast. We have bacon."

"Well, you can take your lil azz over to your grandma house and eat bacon."

????I miss my grandparents something terrible.

  • SummerBaby

This catering issue is taking all the shine away from the actual celebration.

  • Yoni

Probably red meat or pork or chicken/turkey. :tea:

  • E-VannaRootsAllEvil

Again TI and Tiny have the money to pay experienced professionals to do this. Y you hiring family? First mistake right there....

  • Yoni

    THIS!

  • E-VannaRootsAllEvil

Exactly wtf I woukd have been insulted

  • http://yvonnechase.com/ Yvonne Chase

Something in the milk ain't clean. She says, she's been planning this event for months. IF that is true, why didn't she have tastings set up with a variety of chefs then choose the best one before paying any money?

Why didn't she have written contracts prepared outlining day of event expectations?

Also, why did she give him a deposit in cash before tasting his food? She's lucky he came back to finish the job. Another person might have run off with the $1000 and called it a day especially after telling them you don't like the food.

I don't believe one word of her story. Here's what I do believe happened; I believe they ate his food and thoroughly enjoyed it then tried to get over by not paying him in full.

No professional does business like this. What kind of event planner is she? Hopefully no one hires her ever again!

  • E-VannaRootsAllEvil

Trying to be cheap is never in style

  • Buttercup

Not buying it. Clifford from Zone 4 will fugg up some lemon pepper wings- extra wet, extra crispy. I'd bet you a fat man's lunch on that.

Even if I was, what does it matter? But instead I "kindly (as if I'm talking to a child)" tell them "You don't eat things YOU don't like, right?".....fvk outta my face!

    NEW POST - Blac Chyna

  • SummerBaby

I go through this all the time as well. I do eat red meat, but not very often.

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Never do anything for free!!! Maybe discount but never for free I just wrote a post about that I'm even cool with bartering but it has to be of equal value you'll drive yourself out of business fast and diminish your credibility by doing free stuff value your devices and product first or no one else will by saying my work is of good quality and standards which is why my prices are set at this rate I'm willing to give you a discount for exposure once you offer free stuff ppl don't respect it and often question why and it sets the standard for others to come at you side ways meaning all other celebrities will want you doing their events free or dirt cheap when the whole point of you being in business is to make money and create residual income

  • https://www.etsy.com/shop/AMarieNaturals Lovezoe

    New post!

  • SummerBaby

I seen pics somewhere. IG maybe ? It looked nice & I believe she's done some events for Toya as well.

  • LithiumHaitianFlower

'Free' with contract for guaranteed future gigs plus food cost, equipments, and exposure. No chef truly work for 'free'. But them famous folks are scammers themselves too

  • That’s Interesting

I agree. She's worse than him in my book. She also, I believe, tried to be bootleg with the catering, so she found an unknown who she thought she could do any kinda way, pay him slave wages, and that he should just be glad he was cooking for celebrities. It backfired. She had her pick of reputable chefs, and that's who she chose. She needs several seats.

  • That’s Interesting

    Lol!

  • WetPntees

    Me too.. Lol

  • Buttercup

I'd pop 'em in the eye with an almond and tell them to stop trying to put you in a box. LOL

  • Ms. Damn Solo

Her fault, all together, if after tasting the samples they were not suffice, no contract should have been made nor deposit. Doing business you cannot be afraid to respectfully decline services. Further, hiring a caterer 4 days before the event (she had 4 months) is unheard of unless the client decided to have the event on Wednesday. You should always have several "trusted" vendors on your list to call at a moments notice. If you are just starting out, plan a vendor event where you event only vendors and they bring samples of their products and have them set up as they would for your event. This is a great networking tool and method of adding to your trusted vendor list. This is a very stressful, yet fun career, glad to see she took responsible and will take this as an opportunity to learn.

  • soflystann

Everything that looks good aint GOOD for you... lesson learned.

  • Auditor

Her dumb ass didn't taste the food before giving the money...and her waiting to the last minute is triflin'...

  • Renee26

    Right...the exposure was her payment

  • Yoni

THIS! Don't put me in YOUR box so that you can judge me.

  • Yoni

I just hate the "are you muslim".....and they face be scrunched up. My thing is, if I was........ :waiting: But I'd be wrong to ask "Are you kkk affiliated? Are you a trump supporter?" Just as personal, right?

  • Arii

    Such ratchet planning.

  • Jay

Exactly...and shower could have been held at his restaurant.

  • Genia Gouch

She said " should have done my research better and the next time I know not to pay cash ....." a beginner chef for a beginner event planner. I blame the event planner. You chose a chef, based upon how his food looked on IG? You work with celebrities and you don't have a data base of professionals who's work you have already vetted? No matter the incompetence of your vendors...you the event planner and their incompetence is a direct refection of your own incompetence. NO EXCUSES!!

  • Alicia.Ashe

    Lord that last paragraph.........

  • lil goodie

Wedding issues? ? Details please. .

  • Genia Gouch

The fact that she had a "Side to the story" screams incompotence. There is no side of the story boo boo.

  • wonderwoman

That's what happens when you go to the hood. If this is such a celebrity baby shower with only a $2000 budget, why you meeting someone in an alley. Then you give cash, not a check, and you get no receipt.

  • JerseyMom

Instagram is the poor people's version of Craig's List. I would not use either for business purposes. #scams

  • askquestions

    Yelp, maybe? Instagram?!

  • Matix B

The word BOSS should be used loosely here.

I would NEVER hire her to plan any event.
she hired him off IG pics
    lawdy I'm done

Folk gon learn about getting folks off the "Instagram" ...I have heard of so many people being burned from using folks off the GRAM...especially hairstylist.... weave hair bundles...waist trainers...and such!

  • Mel

Chile so he out there talking bout the ppl frying chicken by the garbage pail and he out there making dry fry chicken and broccoli with no butter ? why I'm just picturing someone snatching up their food and leaving did he have a trolley to wheel the food outta there or what ?

  • whitty hutton

Excuses...I still can't get past paying a deposit on THURSDAY for a Sunday event...#hoodshyt.

Secondly, $2000 for appetizers, 3 meats and 4 veggies shoulda been a huge clue that something wasn't right with dude.

Sorry hun, ur story doesn't jive and you knew he was bootleg which is why you chose him...tryna get something for nothing.

  • Mel

Yep then when the customer service number and emails go unanswered they wanna cry lmao they ain't gon learn

  • Ceezus

Yep! And the tasting should have been done 1 mo prior to the event AND the deposit.

  • mvward31

There are so many things wrong here that I am going to just say...girl please! GET YOURSELF TOGETHER! Always, always have a tasting first and exchange monies afterwards. Get references and call those people! Never go by what the person says...of course he is going to say he is the best chef/caterer around...he wants your money!

  • Ceezus

Like I said, the tasting should've been done well in advance of the event or exchange of money. That's what they do w/ the wedding cake. You get to sample first.

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Ok!!!! Now you talking at first I was like now I know dang well you aint talking bout feeding these folks and not getting nothing outta it but a hey I remember that time I did a event for (insert celebrity name) and that's it now that is a true barter deal there love it!!!

  • Ceezus

    Lol!! Damn Auditor. But true.

  • Ceezus

I saw his IG and the food does look good BUT she should've had an advance tasting and a contract. And a credit card or check payment. Something she can track.

  • Ceezus

She should've used Aunt Bertha and the OLG. js

  • Jahnée Gill Mr.Eddie Murphy

I'm no Event planner but how hard is it to Google local catering companies. Research their businesses read reviews. Then choose a few places for you and your clients to visit and sample their food.

  • Ceezus

Right! Everybody know you taste the wedding cake b4 the wedding! She must not watch David Tutera.

  • Ceezus

Woooooow! So let's do the math. They said 300+ guests, that's like $6 pp. Even if it was 160 ppl that only $12.50 pp.

  • Ceezus

    ROFL!!

  • Canary Red™

Locals! This ain't nothing but local drama on the world wide web...SMH...

  • LibraGirlonly

It was the event planner who dropped the ball. She waited until the last minute to test the food.

  • Ms. Damn Solo

She had 4 months to plan this event, the venue and the caterer should have been booked 1st. Everybody trying to have a hustle with no basic business knowledge. Rule #1 - Always sign a contract with the scope of services clearly stated.

  • Ms. Damn Solo

500K lavish event my arse! HOW SWAY!

  • Ms. Damn Solo

I have purchased from some really reputable companies on IG. This guy is a horrible representation to himself, not the site. IG is a great marketing tool.

  • Octavious Crapp

The event planner is his wife's niece.

  • free

she gave a grand to an instagram chef and made him bring food but didn't taste it before she handed over cash money with no contract. this sound like some n***a shyt where they want stylish food but don't want to pay a reputable chef. if he wanted her to provide staff and platters, it's because she didn't want to pay for it; that shyt costs, especially labor. many folk don't understand the difference between catering and your auntee 'nem frying chicken.

  • free

he wanted to get in the door with a celebrity gig and they expected him to discount his services to do that. some folk will and some folk won't. i don't believe she let his food sit on the table and didn't taste it before counting out a grand.

  • free

that broad probably don't work with no damn celebrities....

  • free

THERE YOU GO!!! they ate every morsel of that shyt then tried to say it was dry. poor thang. i feel sorry for dude but he gotta step his chef game up. the business aspect of it is just as important as the food. many chefs do it for the love of food but they are soon broke as hell.

  • free

she meant to exclude black people meat: poke, steak, and chicken. salmon, skrimps, and such are not meat to us lol.

  • Sincerity7

    Food tasting BEFORE deposit paying....

  • Buttercupdreamsmom

Now I'm not the brightest person but I would like to think that my degree in communications serves me well. Soooooo with that being said, in the 2nd paragraph, you PAID the man BEFORE even TASTING the food.... HOW SWAY...... So you mean to tell MW that you gave him cash, he handed you the food, left and then you tasted it????? Where is the logic? Mam, you have a TASTING FIRST then you decide if yo want to go with that person. Maybe I'm missing something so can someone else please re-read it for me

  • Mrs. AJB

    now this is funny lmaoo

  • LithiumHaitianFlower

How do we know what share/percentage Mr owns in the restaurant? Or maybe he gets paid to be the face à la Diddy Bad Boy and Ciroc type of ish. You'd be shocked to know how much of these celebs income and net worth here in even Hollyweird are mostly 'credit' and fame. All smoke.

  • LithiumHaitianFlower

Very good for u. A lot of time a secure lucrative deals like that

  • LithiumHaitianFlower

    Everything sounds very Atlanta

  • NYTimes#1Bestseller

not this time. i think she looks cute here

  • Empress

Agreed. She was trying to let him still make some coins he is messy. Though I would not have booked him without first hand or at least solid references about his cooking. I don't eat meat but I know people will hurt you about some dry chicken.

  • Genia W-m

Who hires someone from Instagram? LOl Problem #1. This must a friend TI and Tiny are trying to help get her business off the ground. I wish her luck but please, please, please, surround yourself with experienced folks first. Mistakes are made in the beginning of a new business but this was a costly one. Don't give that much money up front without knowing how the food tastes. Word of mouth is better than Instagram. Also, she mentions nothing about a contract.
Years ago I had an event at a place where the venue caterer fell thru so they called in someone from the outside. She was so good I'm hiring her for another event and she's been hired by others too.
A family member hired a caterer from her church and ended up running out of food. Another time someone catered an event and also ran out of food! How embarrassing. Just because a person can cook doesn't mean they should be in business.

  • Genia W-m

There's no way it could've been $500k with a small food budget like that. Someone made that up.
I called a hotel in Atlanta to make reservations for an event, had no choice but to leave a voice mail because they said the planner was out. She didn't call me back for a month! I already had a venue by then. Trying to patronize Black businesses can be difficult when you have to shop around for a good one. No wonder Oprah spends a ton on parties. She has the best in Colin Cowe.

  • Fendi

MTO fabricated that budget. That's why I was laughing. You can look at the pics and see it wasn't a $500k shower. It doesn't look like it was a 50k shower.

The chef said he was given a $2k "budget" to cook for 300 people. How was he expected to pull that off? That isn't his fault. That's the fault of the cheapskates throwing the shower.

Folks love talking that money isht until it's time to pay their debts.

  • Genia W-m

Why? This is how Detroit & so many other Black cities became cesspools, by hiring unqualified family and friends.

  • Genia W-m

You should start off small and local. Hand out business cards too--put them in keepsakes and/or have some on the sign in table. I was at an event and the business cards were on the table. I thought it was a nice touch because it went so well. Word of mouth spreads!
I couldn't do catering. The cooking is the easy part but when you cook for hundreds of people, transportation, etc., that's a ton of work. I was at a wedding and I don't know what happened but the appetizers were cold and dry. I can't even remember the dinner entrée. The grandmother of the bride was not happy and the caterer was her nephew. He's usually good and has catered lots of events. That's the only one I had with him though.

  • Genia W-m

She really does. Love her makeup too.

  • Billy

    I see..

  • Mona Lisa

Please, who pays $1000 to sample food. If she knew the food tasted bad, she should have not paid him. In the interim she decided to go with another chef, but did not communicate this to the dude, so he prepared all the food only to be told that his food was not needed. He needs to be payed regardless, she dropped the ball.

  • Linda Pope

I would like to say to everyone who felt my cousin Tamara didn't do well for the baby shower you guys wasn't there and social media will blow things out of proportion. I did attend the baby shower and from what I saw Tamara did an excellent job. The problem seemed to be with the chef who should have been there at the event two hours early to prepare the food not around the time the guest arrived which was 4 o clock. Tamara did indeed taste the food but like she said the food wasn't all that and I don't blame her for only paying him 30% and everyone who is commenting would have done the same if the food wasn't right for your guest.

Also guest who were still arriving noticed this chef cooking food by the trash can and was asking why this man was cooking outside and charging ten dollars a plate. I guess he figured he would still get paid and probably said the food was for the baby shower if anyone approached him. Questioned to everyone who would have ate that food the chef cooked without running water to wash his hands and a hair net? I know I wouldn't have because he didn't have a permit to sell dinners at a private event.

Tamara does have a degree in business and she graduated from Gordon College with honors and I find it so sad that people would get on here that wasn't invited but reading made up stuff to make it look like she was being cheap that wasn't the issue. She was allowed a budget and if anyone on here is an event planner he or she knows the people who hire you want things done professionally.

We all make mistakes when it comes to a lot of things but guess what Sandra Rose followers we are HUMAN!!! So to the professional event planners I bet some mishaps did occur once for a client and for that I say lesson learned for the next event. NeNe Leaks wedding planner was all over the place and Ms. Leaks wasn't happy with her but life goes on and so will the trash can chef. I hope he gets it together for the next event and be on time to collect his full pay. As for my cousin Tamara she got family who knows she did a great job and we all told her so including Tiny and Tip at the event. We all need to stop feeding into the media and realize these people are here to report things that may or may not be true to sell his or her product and that's fine but hurting someone feelings isn't cool at all.

Be Blessed everyone and please remember positive results bring blessings down.

Don't pay them any mind, Linda. This is the Internet.

    Spill it, Tammy! LOL

  • Smartypants

Chile if her event booking is anything like her punctuation and grammar...

Excuse me My aunt can cook very well and she seasons her food. Talk what you know and stop being racist.

  • Lorenzo Chaps

You're not a boss. U know how I know? Cuz you're trolling IG for vendors, that's how. She let Tiny's assistant convince her that this reality tv couple only has $5000 ($500k my ass) tops for this star studded shower. Please. All these k list people showing up to the opening of an envelope addressed "occupant." I'm sure the star studded crowd includes the usual suspects.

Atlanta is beyond tired. For real. I get the impression this boss spent little to nothing to pull off a grand affair. Instead, she probably used ti/tiny's names to get vendors to give free schit.

  • Lorenzo Chaps

and that's how you know she's not a boss.

  • Lorenzo Chaps

OMG Tammy, don't you dare. Spill it, tell us what you know. Hey cash is the ATL way. If Phaedra Parks can take cash from her client in the parking lot of the court, surely this gets a pass, yes???

  • LithiumHaitianFlower

I will start doing that as soon as i'm done with all the licensing and mastering&trademarking my French delicacies.Thank you for your input, sis. Yes, it is a lot of work. Cooking must be an absolute passion to an individual to be a professional chef. Period. It is art to delicately handcraft some paper thin smoked salmon for bite sizes cucumber sandwiches. The authenticity will be off If one does it as a hustle only to get by and scam folks for a few bucks. You can taste every mistake. Poor presentation is also an absolute turn off. Atlanta is filled with 'bosses and CEOs'. Very few people actually take the proper steps. Boss Chick this, CEO that... a lot of time they don't even have a business license let alone the education and experience required. They lie and falsely advertise themselves. Don't forget the x amount non-refundable deposit lol

"...have too much money" well, at least that's the version of the story we've been sold all these years, yet here's another story like this.

  • Lorenzo Chaps

    SHADE.

Why wont Jackie Christie release Doug to the wild? That every year vow stuff is ...filing nails.

  • Lorenzo Chaps

I'm so embarrassed for Atlanta because of stuff like this. Every body here's getting in and we all have haters. SMH.

  • Natalie Noel

A true business woman is not going to address herself as a "young boss in the making" sit your hood rat behind down. She is a family member who went from nanny to this bella design thing.

  • 1 Hit Wonder

lol I actually love Atlanta I just never knew so many shady people lived there. I guess I live in my own little bubble when I visit.

  • Tammie Reed

    lol

  • Tammie Reed

lol you are a mess! If I didnt live here and had to see these folks weekly I would trust me!

  • Kae

Did the media make her pay a "chef" she just found on Instagram for a event? ? Business degree? And we out here working with verbal contracts? ?

  • Genia Gouch

Tiny is ATL homegrown. She has the means to hire professionals, i'm sure. I get the impression she believes in giving opportunities to the people from where she's from. a reach back, help the next one up, type of person. That's commendable. BUT if they keep slamming her in the blogs, they will mess it up for the next little person, needing that helping hand.

  • diamondgirl

"young boss in the making"??? See this is the problem with all this delusion of grandeur that folks subscribe to nowadays... How you gonna call yourself a boss when you don't even have enough professional experience or basic common sense to taste the food BEFORE you sign a contract and/or pay a vendor?? I'm no professional event planner, but have planned a ton of showers and parties and know to do that. I guess the crack baby generation is all grown up and officially taking over. Lawd have mercy on us all...

  • diamondgirl

Yes, got nothing to do with being a newbie. These crack babies are too dumb and jaded to know real from fake. They actually think IG ish is legit.

  • diamondgirl

Tammie, was she tryna to find somebody on the cheap so she could pocket some of the food budget?

  • Linda Pope

People are always advertising through social media about being a business owner and half of them don't have licenses but trying to make fast money and almost everyone have met people like that. You and I don't know what he said about being licensed to my cousin Tamara because neither one of us was there for the meeting. I am stating what we and the guest saw by the trash can cooking chicken dinners. I was also pointing out she does have business sense at 27 but her Aunt Tiny gave her an opportunity to help with the baby shower like most people do to help a new comer establish his or her business. As for everyone opinion about the situation my family is going to continue to do better and achieve greatness through the grace of God.

    lol

  • ChefTony2676

He is a FRUAD been stealing pictures of other chefs work acting as if they are his including some of mines and associates of mine. I can't a word he says. #Chef2fake

  • Jay

while true...he still has enough ties to the restaurant to be ale to hold it there.

  • The Bad 1

Aren't journalists supposed to stay neutral

  • ????

Exactly! Her handling of that was wrong from the jump. She know dámñ well all communications and agreements should've been in writing! She needs to close her unprofessional business, and take a business class.

  • ????

Right!! What she screwed up on, is buisness 101! It doesn't matter that she's a novice planner, simple common sense should've kicked in, and it didn't.

  • ????

    Yep!!
