Australia has scrapped a $750 million order for Pfizer’s mRNA vaccines after the first batch of inoculations produced false positive HIV results in some volunteers. It isn’t clear what prompted officials to test for HIV in the first volunteers who took the v vaccine in a trial study. Australia was the first country to abandon distribution of the vaccines.
